To be honest if you took the time to fill out then manually worked through and calculated you score then posted it - I think the answer is pretty clear and the actual score pretty irrelevant

Re: Are you 'on the scale'
Just discovered this. 35 here. Slightly higher than I expected (thought I would be towards the top of the previous band) but not unduly surprised. We have an autistic son who would probably be mid 40s or higher on this scale and watching him and reading about his condition has enabled me to recognise these traits in myself, although may be I have some more work to do on this!

Re: Are you 'on the scale'
My son has an Asperger's diagnosis and I've had similar trains of thought. Adult diagnoses are popular these days and I've read of people saying it's let them make sense of a lot of stuff that happened earlier in their life. Not sure I need a piece of paper to tell me but if there was a quick easy way of doing it I might have a go.

Re: Are you 'on the scale'
A lot of the questions just seem to be assessing introvert/extrovert and logical/creative personality types, although there’s obviously a correlation.
Don’t think I’d want a diagnosis personally, think it would just discourage me from things that so-called “normal” people pursue.

Re: Are you 'on the scale'
Very briefly as I'm on phone and I'm not big on typing serious/long stuff on it...
A Diagnosis won't change you, and there is no sensible therapy/treatment that I'm aware of.
I believe there is a hereditary element, but you can Google that, as I would be Googling it too.
It has become a very trendy diagnosis in schools and historically difficult to diagnose in females. I can explain the basics of this to anyone interested.
It certainly explained a lot of my shite especially with the ADHD diagnosis - there is a very strong correlation between the two, but some do only have one. I also have a form of OCD that I never knew existed and don't even think that I have any interest in cleaning. I have medication for these two, which certainly help, but I'm unaware of any for Autism.
Back to the diagnosis, it has become a popular Adult diagnosis recently and I know my ADHD person was getting a ridiculous number of referrals a week. I believe Autism is similar and I know someone charged £1.5k for a private diagnosis.
It definitely is a Spectrum as there is a ridiculous number of symptoms and a wide range of how severe each symptom can be.

Re: Are you 'on the scale'
I'm much the same. It was really helpful to get a diagnosis for our son, but I'm not sure it would be any value to me. It's just helpful to understand some of my foibles (past and present) and how I react in certain circumstances, etc.Darbyand wrote: ↑13 Jan 2022, 13:13 My son has an Asperger's diagnosis and I've had similar trains of thought. Re: Are you 'on the scale'
Yeah, pretty much spot on Blah. My wife runs various stuff to support families with a child with ASD - I've just come back after popping into her toddler group. From what I've seen from some of these families and others, I too think there is an hereditary element, and it absolutely a spectrum - everyone is different and everyone is unique and there is no such thing as normal.blahblah wrote: ↑13 Jan 2022, 16:27 Very briefly as I'm on phone and I'm not big on typing serious/long stuff on it...

Shame the test no longer works I've only just found this thread would of liked to find out my genuine score.

Just thought I’d try it again, to see how consistent or otherwise the scoring was… I scored 30, exactly the same as when I did it 6 months ago.

My score is now 22, I think it's the company I've been keeping
However two days ago my life became a whole lot less stressful so not sure if that will affect the score?
Will try it again in a month.

Re: Are you 'on the scale'
34 here and the real life diagnosis only took 1 of the 2 hours assigned for it
The follow up stuff was a complete waste of time
However, the diagnosis got me a referral for ADHD (most have both and some have 1) from which I got some Meds which do help.

Re: Are you 'on the scale'
If you know anyone on AD's, which are used for other stuff like OCD and ADHD, they may be really struggling in this heat.
I wondered why I was, as I'm usually fine in the heat, and hate the cold..... then read a link

This probably explains why I passed out the other April and was break dancing on the floor, rather than having epilepsy
