Fantasy Winter Olympics 2022 - Free to enter. Hard to win
Greetings fellow FISO members (and also non members).
Following the success of the Fantasy Olympics competition, I'm running a Fantasy Winter Olympics competition.
Usual Shaggy-type rules. Pick 5 countries, don't over-spend the budget, points for medals. Entries by email or pm before the opening ceremony starts at noon (UK time) on 4th Feb.
Website is here.
Good luck everyone.
League table is here

I'll be there!
As in, I'll be entering the comp not "I'll be competing in the bobsleigh".

Only 3 weeks to get entries in. I worked out all the numbers as soon as the proper Olympics had finished, but forgot to update my site.
2 entries received so far.

A steady trickle of entries, and we're in to double figures.
Only 1 invalid entry so far which has now been sorted.

Re: Fantasy Winter Olympics 2022 - Free to enter. Hard to win
Nigeria entered a bobsleigh team didn't they, so perhaps we could enter one as the Peoples Republic of FISO - perhaps claim a rocky mound somewhere in the Pacific as a country ?
Malrom's from Switzerland so he should have pedigree in these things and would no doubt make a good driver. Ralfbergs may also be scandinavian based ? Then a couple of chunky FISOers in the back to add ballast ?
I would be happy to coach

You need a couple of failed sprinters who can no longer get to the summer Olympics to push the thing quickly out of the blocks then jump in, duck down and shit themselves til the bottom. I could do the last bit but not the first 10 seconds.

No good for me, I'd shit myself before I got in, probably do my back in ducking down like that....although I did make the final of the 100m back in the old school sports days.

Re: Fantasy Winter Olympics 2022 - Free to enter. Hard to win
Amazingly enough, only had 1 invalid entry so far, and that was corrected quickly.
It's nice when people read the instructions, and even nicer when they give the country numbers.
(* Sigh *)
And before anyone points it out to me, yes I am aware that some events start before the opening ceremony, but knowing who wins in the first round of the curling isn't really going to affect the overall medal winners.
