GW12 Captain
Most will captain Salah but it doesn't look a done deal to me by any means.
Since the first international break, Arsenal have the 3rd-best defensive record in the PL as measured by xG conceded (7.83 xGC in 8 games, just a shade behind Chelsea and not far off City). Their shut-out of Leicester (away) in GW10 was quite impressive and they have a GK in top shot-stopping form. On the other hand, Liverpool have had the most fluent attack this season and have already won their CL group, so needn't worry about the midweek game against Porto.
The weakest defence over recent weeks has been Watford's and that proposes Ronaldo as a good candidate. The reservation there, of course, is that United have been in disarray and they also have a crucial game in the CL on Tuesday, away at Villareal. They need a result in Spain because a defeat would put them at serious risk of relegation to the Europa League for the second season in a row.
City have Everton at the Etihad in a fixture that seems to have potential. I quite like Cancelo as an option and he was rested for Portugal's qualifier in Ireland. City do have a significant CL game against PSG 3 days later, though, the outcome of which will likely decide who wins the group.
The other, most obvious fixture to target is Spurs' home game against Leeds. We all know that Spurs have a new (and top-class) manager; we also know that he hasn't yet had a great deal of time to work with his players (those that have had international duty, anyway). It would be no surprise to see Kane deliver a flurry of goals now but Leeds have tightened up considerably over the last 6 weeks and Spurs are in the early days of the Conte era. Personally I don't think this is the game to back Kane or Son with the armband; maybe GW14 and/or GW15.
My choice would probably be Cancelo if he were in my team but he isn't. Neither is Ronaldo. Will likely therefore be Salah for me, for the first time in 4 weeks.

I'm not sure the Etihad is the same as the Emirates. But I'm ignorant of Middle East geography, politics etc

Captaining Kane is like taking a -4 to get him in your team only because Spurs are playing Leeds, same reason Toney came in to everyone's thinking v Norwich, and see how that went .

Re: GW12 Captain
Toney is not prem proven and was always gamble.
I think Kane is a seriously good option this week, as will be up for making a good impression under Conte in there first home game under him.
Arsenal have become really good defensively, which I never thought Iβd say and i donβt see Salah scoring a big haul, but itβs difficult to not pick him when he has only blanked on one game.
But if your looking to make some ground up this week, i donβt see Kane as a bad option personally

Re: GW12 Captain
Comparing Kane, with 167 PL goals, to Toney, who has 2, is something of a stretch, don't you think?wahine wrote: Captaining Kane is like taking a -4 to get him in your team only because Spurs are playing Leeds, same reason Toney came in to everyone's thinking v Norwich, and see how that went.
And assuming that Salah is the default captain is to suggest that the defence he's up against is irrelevant.

Re: GW12 Captain
Jesus we're all bringing in Kane, aren't we? Well, at least with Kane you can justify it when he trolls us again. Unlike Dunk, Sane, Toney, Chicharito, Gabbiadini, Walcott and on and on.

I'd hold on buying Kane. Apparently he is undergoing scans on his head, following a bad bang to it as he tried to walk through a doorway

Even though I never really trust Arsenal, but somehow I feel Kane (c) and Salah (VC) is a good idea this gw.

Re: GW12 Captain
I don't have a Tottenham player, so it'll be a pint of Salah with a Ronaldo chaser.
Even if I bring in Son before the deadline, I think it'll be the Egyptian.
