Sounds career-threatening at the very least. He’s not had much luck since being seemingly labelled as the man to dominate for a decade, a mantle Pogacar quickly took over.

This is probably the best place to ask:

Just how doped up has Nadal been this week? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

Ran into the back of a bus at 60kph. TT training so probably head down and didn’t even see it. Seems like he’s somehow avoided any life changing consequences, but whether he’ll ever get back to the very top level is a different matter. Seems unlikely reading the list of injuries to be honest.
Probably lucky that he’ll still be able to walk to be honest.

They don’t dope though in nice sports like tennis though. That’s why they don’t really bother doing too much dope testing. No point. And if they do get the odd person who’s made a mistake they prefer to just keep it all quiet and give them a silent ban. It’s not like they really meant it, just briefly strayed from the righteous path.

If the big three did do it and the others didn’t, that would at least partially explain them managing to take Father Time to a fifth-set tie-break while generation after generation falls by the wayside… but you’d have thought the young guys would be more likely to dope given the embarrassment of being unable to dethrone the oldies.

Phenomenal ride by Pidcock. To win by that margin was impressive. Also impressive was his superman straddle at the end. Image

very impressive ride. Never looked in doubt, barring a crash or mechanical to be honest. He just looked in full control from the gun. every time he got squeezed back a few places in the opening laps he could just get back to the front at will.

Pity WvA and MvdP weren't there to make a real fight of it but on that performance Pidcock would have been right up there whoever was riding.

Zoe Backstedt looked very impressive as well. She's obviously got the right genes (from both parents). I don't think she'd be far off the pace in the elite race

Will Pidcock get a more prominent role in a Grand Tour this year? Seems to be tough to make an impact with Ineos, even without Bernal they still have Carapaz, Geraint, TGH and A.Yates to name but a few potential leaders/GC men…

Bernal has managed to take his first steps walking unaided, which is great news, although obviously a long road to recovery still ahead.

Cav back to winning ways in Oman as well. Good to see he's recovered from his nasty fall at the Gent six-day :-)

Good news re Bernal, hadn't seen that.

Did see Cav started with a 2nd then a 1st to lead overall.

Milano San Remo coming up at the weekend. First and longest of the monuments. 5 1/2 hours of complete predictability then all hell breaks loose on the last 10k on the Poggio and the run-in. Unless someone goes on the Cipressa of course, but thats not happened for a long time....

Ala has pulled out, although after his acrobatics in Strade I don't know how he'd manage in a 300km race. WvA probably the big favourite, mainly because he could win from an attack on the Poggio or in a sprint if they all come together. He'd be hard to beat in a sprint after 300km, depending of course how much he's had to do to chase any attackers down. Ewan the other best bet if it comes to a sprint.

Pog on the Poggio has a nice ring to it, and you feel that he can pretty much win at will. You feel that he could definitely get a gap on the Poggio, but there are a few other good riders that can upset things and if the likes of Ganna come to the front after the Poggio it will be harder to stay away than it was in Strade.
