TYSON FURY VS. DEONTAY WILDER 3

Post by plasticninja »

I am really looking forward to this fight. I have watched both previous fights this week and Fury is a deserving favorite but I wouldn't have him at such short odds to win. Wilder got caught in the third round in the last fight and didn't really recover making Fury look the much better fighter and hence the short odds. I would rather have my money on Wilder at 9/4 as I think he is overpriced.
Anyone else thinking of having a bet?

Fury is overrated, but probably the best of a mediocre bunch right now. Wilder is all hat and no cattle.

Yeah, I originally thought Fury was just a mouthy twit who would be found out when he fought someone half-decent, but he tends to produce something when it matters, unlike most of his rivals.

Got a bit more sympathy for him now than I once had given his well-documented mental issues but still wouldn’t mind seeing his reaction when someone knocks him out…

All hat and no cattle, I have never heard that expression before, where are you from?

Wilder wins, setting up a Decider next year and Fury retires after winning it.

He talks quite a lot of sense about his fooked head, unlike his views on women etc.

That strikes of someone who knows very little about boxing. Fury would have given most heavyweights of the past trouble.

Or somebody with a different opinion to you.

And do you mean most heavyweights or most heavyweight champions?

Agree if the first as there’s been thousands of hopeless heavyweight boxers. Absolute rubbish if the second.

There’s been hundreds of heavyweight champions under the various acronyms, many of them dross. His results surely put him in upper mid-table at least on that list…

I’d agree. He’s upper mid table at best.

Fury would beat any heavyweight since Lewis.

Even him vs Lewis would have been hell of a battle and couldn’t split them.

I’m not arguing with somebody who isn’t even aware that their opinion is an opinion.

What in your opinion makes Fury only middle table at best?

Based on that I assume you don’t rate Vladimir who Firy schooled?

What else does he have to do to be higher?

I agree 100%, both Fury and Wilder are very classy fighters and also true warriors!
It shouldn't even be up for debate.

Tyson at his peak was miles clear of anyone.

Fury needs to fight more real contenders rather than fighting the same Average Joe three times źzzzzzzzz

No doubt about that, the baddest man on the planet, barring him though, what Ashers said is a fair assessment.

The real one not the modern fake.

Could box and would have scared the crap out of opponents with his ferocity even if he couldn't.

Fury is a lot better than people thought when he started, but he's not been in the ring with anyone like Lewis or Tyson, let alone the greats from before.

He does but the issue is they don’t exist.

He would have schooled Joshua
Whyte is not at his level
Usyk is a decent fight but Fury will be too quick and big.
Joyce is slow and will be picked off.
Wilder unfortunately is the best outside the above.

So why not prove it?

Rematches are as bad for boxing as the multiple belt farce. The world wants to see a single champion box the best contender.

I feel sorry for Norton who had no one to beat, and Fury is similar, but probably not as good.

This is why the modern men's tennis bods are so highly rated: they have good/great bods to beat - unlike the women now Serena seems to be past it.

Norton? As in Ken Norton who lost to Foreman, Ali, Holmes and Garcia.

He had plenty to beat, but couldn’t.

The other thing people are forgetting is how small these heavyweight legends are compared to Tyson Fury height and weight. (Excluding Lewis)

It would be like him fighting a modern day cruiserweight.

Not saying they are not fantastic, but they never had to fight someone like Fury.

Issue there is he went on to long and lost vs Tyson, Holyfield, McCall and I think Spinks.

He had the fighters to beat but couldn’t due to being past his best when he fought them.
