TFF chit chat 11th, 12th and 13th September
SATURDAY 11TH SEPTEMBER
Crystal Palace 12:30 Tottenham Hotspur
Eight games this Saturday, the first of which is a London derby featuring Crystal Palace against Tottenham Hotspur at Selhurst Park. The Eagles brought in Edouard and Will Hughes towards the end of the transfer window while Spurs brought in Emerson Royal. Harry Kane has been scoring for fun over the international break.
Arsenal 15:00 Norwich City
The first of the six 3pm games is a bottom of the table clash between Arsenal who sit in 20th against 19th placed Norwich. Arsenal will be hoping that today's game can kick start their season but Xhaka is suspended for this one. Norwich look like they might have a tough season ahead of them. Lees-Melou may have gone under the radar.
Brentford 15:00 Brighton & Hove Albion
Ivan Toney's team against Brighton and Hove Albion up next. Ivan scored a goal last time out but there are other of his team mates with better TFF scores. Brighton brought in Cucurella during the transfer window, he's a defender don't you know. Wellbeck returned from injury in Brighton's recent loss to Everton.
Leicester City 15:00 Manchester City
A clash between two teams who are on the same number of points is next up - Leicester v Manchester City. Vardy appears to have rediscovered his scoring boots over the summer break and Lookman joined the Foxes at the end of August. Man City didn't sign as recognised striker so assume the role will be split between Jesus and Torres. KDB is still injured and they may have keeper issues.
Manchester United 15:00 Newcastle United
Next, Man Utd v Newcastle. Ronaldo should make his second United debut in this game, but don't forget they also brought in Varane and Sancho over the summer. Newcastle are sat just above the relegation spots and will need a good slice of luck to get anything out of today's game. Callum Wilson ruled out through injury.
Southampton 15:00 West Ham United
Mid-table Southampton against 2nd place West Ham is the next of the 3 o'clock games. The Saints have drawn their last two games but look to have replaced Ings quite well with Adam Armstrong. West Ham have started well but their defence isn't very solid and they may be an injury to Antonio away from dropping down the table.
Watford 15:00 Wolverhampton Wanderers
The final 3pm game is Watford versus Wolves at Vicarage Road. Watford are 12th but haven't won in their last 2 games. Dennis is cheap as chips though. Wolves have suffered three 1-nil defeats against three of the big six teams so hopefully their season starts today. Hwang was brought in to play up front.
Chelsea 17:30 Aston Villa
Saturday's late match is Chelsea against Aston Villa. Lukaku reportedly has an injury but it may simply have been internationalitis. The Blues brought in Saul at the end of the window. Villa will be without Emi Martinez in goal due to quarantining but Watkins is back fit to play up top with Ings.
SUNDAY 12TH SEPTEMBER
Leeds United 16:30 Liverpool
The solitary Sunday game features Leeds v Liverpool at Elland Road. Leeds have only recorded a couple of draws so far this season and are unlikely to get anything better today. Liverpool are one of five teams currently sat on 7 points. Firmino is likely to be out due to injury.
MONDAY 13TH SEPTEMBER
Everton 20:00 Burnley
And finally, the MNF sees Burnley travelling to Goodison Park to take on Everton. Burnley have a solitary point to show for the three games played so far. The Toffees have injury concerns over Dominic Calvert-Lewin (broken toe and thigh injury) but brought in Rondon at the end of the window.
Remember there may be issues around players returning for playing in internationals (for example Argentinian players) or for not playing in internationals (like the Brazilians, but not Richarlison). See separate threads for more details.
Next game Premier League game is on Friday

How to get Kane, Lukaku and Ronaldo in… Norwich defenders all around?
Still, they play Arsenal in El Crapico this weekend, so might not be such a bad shout…

Just had a quick look around my teams and bearing in mind the possible unavailability regarding the internationals and covid some of them look a bit sparse.

Just whizzed to my teams to consider some Tanganga involvement only to find him knocking about already.
I suppose that's what the international break does to some of us.

Tanganga gang.
Also pondering Fernandes to Ronaldo (and would need to do Shaw to Benrahma to free up some funds)...

Was the Tanganga a yellow and straight red, or two yellows? Either way, anyone know how many games his ban will be? Not sure if he's worth burning a transfer on...

Anyone going Ronaldo today? Finding it very hard to justify three 7 million pound players (currently have Lukaku and Salah). Would require major team surgery and not sure there's enough options in the sub 3.5 million pound player range (apart from Soucek). Going to see how it pans out (from the back of the sofa).

Re: TFF chit chat 11th, 12th and 13th September
I'm gambling on the theory that he will start with a bang. Hard to justify downgrade tinkers to get him in so have done near-like-for-likes and replaced Fernandes or Son in 3 teams (with 1 Tsimikas downgrade to afford). Ronaldo, Kane, Salah, Lukaku, Mane, Fernandes.... all viable alternatives on paper but reality will tell us who was thr right buy.chickennuggets wrote: ↑11 Sep 2021, 14:28 Anyone going Ronaldo today? Had he played on Sunday I could have downgraded a few to later starters but this way is simpler and uses less transfers.

I did a few Kane 2 for 0s - Watford and Palace - to no effect..might not be going back soon based on this stat:
0 - For the very first time in his Premier League career, Tottenham's Harry Kane has had neither a shot nor a touch in the opposition's box in a game where he completed the full 90 minutes. Isolated. https://t.co/KiPNybiOI8

Only just found out my Eggcup purchase of Kane for the last game didn't go through. Would have been miffed he had scored today but quite happy to still have Salah nowDarbyand wrote: ↑11 Sep 2021, 14:54 I did a few Kane 2 for 0s - Watford and Palace - to no effect..might not be going back soon based on this stat:

Two assists for Gallagher and another tackle point sees him up to 24 points from 3 games. At £2.7m he may be a very useful enabler for the 98.15% of managers (me included) who don't have him.
