Stuart Armstrong (Southampton) out of Scottish squad with covid

Kieran Tierney (Arsenal) self isolating for 14 days after being in close contact with Armstrong. Some irrelevant Celtic bloke & staff too.

Kevin de Bruyne (bet you didn't want to see that name when you opened this post) has withdrawn from international squad as he "couldn't be fit enough to play against Iceland"

After the England game, Belgium manager Roberto Martinez played down any potential injury, saying De Bruyne was taken off because "it was more precaution that we had to avoid [something], he wasn't 100%".

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54517452

Also five positive results from the latest round of coronavirus testing. There were 1,128 players and club staff tested between Monday, 5 October and Sunday, 11 October.

Those who tested positive have not been identified and will self-isolate for a period of 10 days.

Latest on the Aguero hokey cokey-

Asked how long the Argentine - who had knee surgery in June - would be out, City boss Pep Guardiola said: "It depends on the injury. When it is minimum it will be 10-15 days. If it is longer it will be three weeks to a month. I don't know.

Liverpool Football Club can confirm Joe Gomez has today undergone successful surgery to repair a tendon in his left knee.

The centre-back sustained the injury during a training session with the England national team on Wednesday.
The issue was isolated to Gomez’s tendon, with no damage to any other associated knee ligaments.
The operation to correct the damage, which took place in London on Thursday morning, was a success and the 23-year-old will make a full recovery.
Gomez will begin a rehabilitation programme with the Reds’ medical team immediately, with club staff carefully monitoring his progress.
No timescale is being placed upon his return, though the issue is likely to rule him out for a significant part of the remainder of 2020-21.

And again

Post by SamD »

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has again returned a positive test for coronavirus while on international duty with Egypt.

The 28-year-old initially tested positive last week, despite not displaying any symptoms.

On Wednesday, the Egyptian Football Association confirmed Salah had been tested again and the result was positive.

He is likely to miss the Reds' next two games because of self-isolation rules.

Liverpool host Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday and then Atalanta in a Champions League group match on 25 November.

To be pedantic/clarify: that was "another week" and "10-14 days" from last Saturday so not 2 weeks from now.
