One of my london bars has already asked me to return to running the quiz "live" from july 14th, despite the governent's arbitrary diktat disallowing live entertainment, so I'm very much looking forward to getting back to work in just a few days time. In the meanwhile not all of my customers have a bar to go to, hence the online quiz continues for a little while at least - next will be posted as usual on wednesday, here are the answers to the latest quiz ...

Hmm, thought I might stop by and revisit this page; as of last week, I'm back on stage "in real life" at two central London venues, hurrah. Having stopped posting updates above when I returned to stage gigs last summer 2020, various rules and restrictions kept closing venues then reopening, then closing, then reopening so long as you had a scotch egg with your beer, then closing again - whatever, am properly "live" again as well as still running the virtual pro zoom quizzes (which have been on thursdays for the last year), and taking bookings for both live and virtual events for christmas. Not quite back to normal yet, and I doubt that central London at least ever will be, but getting better.
The real life quizzes are a bit different now too - I'm not handing out photocopied b&w picture rounds anymore, they are now in colour and accessed via my quiz website, a couple of recent examples here (both have been low scoring rounds, so either my guests have been getting thicker, or my questions have been getting harder) ...

Good to hear from you Quiz King 😎 Glad to see things are starting to pick up, albeit slowly.

Will have a look at the pictures before Unc answers them all 😉

I KNEW someone was going to say "the cars", so in my online gig last night I did warn teams that they would get minus points for that answer. All correct otherwise (ncluding kaiser / kaizer chiefs) apart from #9 - it is a picture of a very specific place from which a very famous band got their name, apparently.

I thought the cinema one had enough poles to be Tenpole Tudor...whose bass player Dick Crippen I used to play pool against in the 1990s.

I think REO Speedwagon were named after a fire engine, looks like this could be it.

I would have only have got 3 of these - love Dali's stuff by the way.
Re Rosie the Riveter, wasn't that more of a general propaganda thing by the British Gov't during WW2, trying to get women into factories/working the land etc ? I didn't realise she had a specific name.

Re the various cars, was thinking Booker T and the MGS but doesn't fit right, however, I have a song somewhere called "Summer Fun" by "The Barracudas". Sure it starts off with a clip from an American commercial for a car called a Barracuda ??

This round is ready for a quiz in a couple of weeks time when the CL starts; name the country for each league logo, might be a bit more straightforward for FISO members ....

Hello again to all - long time no post, have been on stage "in real life" for several months again (after yet another enforced break in midwinter, ggrrr), busy with corporate gigs as well as at the couple of my bars that made it through the last couple of years (one didn't). As those of you on the quiz mailing list will know, i've been carrying on with the virtual zoom quizzes all the way - but am closing my pro zoom account next week, so the final zoom quiz is tomorrow night. I have included another sports league logo round (similar to above), there's also miscellany and food picture rounds, and music from 1972 as well as a collection of my favourites. Will post link to the quiz page tomorrow, and if anyone else would like to join in on zoom, send a PM and i'll forward the link. Quiz at 9pm BST "live" tomorrow night.

Thanks - gig went well, lots of fun.
Went to cancel my pro zoom account, and as partly expected, was immediately offered a 50% discount for three months - and as i had seen this coming, have taken up the offer. Not to carry on with the free regular quizzes, but I do have an online meeting tomorrow with a company who run virtual events, thanks to one of my agents. Their site indicates that they think more people will be going online for fun; I'm thinking quite the opposite and that we've had enough of social distancing and being stuck in front of computer screens for the last couple of years, and are very keen to get back to real life interaction.
Anyhoo, will see which of us is right over the next few months. And tomorrow, i'll see if the money is right - and indeed terms, i'm very much my own boss.
Onwards - and thanks to all at FISO who have shown an interest in the quizzes and various websites over the years. Maybe more to come - and i'm still very much around in ff, looking more to fanteam next season perhaps.

Well after I'd mentioned that you did a quiz at the Star of Kings one of my friends went with a team this week and ended up winning. I might join them one time when I'm in London. She was very complementary about the quiz by the way :-)
