ChampManFPL
A thread for anyone considering playing the upcoming ChampManFPL 01/02.
Probably GW1 will be this coming weekend. I've been helping with testing the beta and it should be fun.

Re: ChampManFPL
Just to be clear. You don’t have to have the Championship Manager game to get involved in this The 01/02 season will be run by the guys behind it and you pick your fpl teams and submit them for the weekly deadline as per normal.

I might have that one
They are playing it with the Prem from that season? Are they making transfers?

Re: ChampManFPL
Two Gameweeks per real week. Deadlines on a Wednesday and Saturday. Normal fpl chips and transfer rules apply. Essentially running the points off what is happening in the CM game to score for the team you pick.
Whatever transfers, injuries, loans, suspensions Etc that happen in the CM game will affect the players in the ChampManFPL game.

Re: ChampManFPL
It might help but we’ve seen lots of different results in testing. Some are the similar and if you run the season a lot of times I’m sure you might see some recurring trends.
But I’ll say it one more time. You don’t need CM01/02 to play this.

Been getting heavily involved with this, chatting a lot on Twitter. Signed up already and awaiting the team sheet to enter.
Have simmed a couple of seasons and will do some more before submitting my GW1 team.
With all the blanks and doubles I’m defintely favouring a squad approach to this with very little, if any, fodder.

Seems like the numerous sims that have been run produce wildly different results with regards to line ups, penalty takers etc. so i think your right with regards to a good squad.

Go to Twitter and search for the account @FantasyChampMan. In their pinned tweet thread there are instructions on how to sign up, at this stage you need to submitt your email address and Twitter handle and you'll be put in a queue to receive your sign up sheet. Further down the thread is a link to the player price list so you can start putting together a squad.
I'd also advise following that twitter account (and @CMScoutFPL) and, at least until the game launches, hitting the little bell so you receive a notification when they tweet. Good luck.
P.S. please let me know who's in your initial squad so I can avoid these players.
P.P.S Arsenal have a blank in GW2 so be careful when selecting their players, unless you have adequate bench cover.

Well, that was great fun. Really cool real-time updates from the Twitter account and an entertaining live stream from Planet FPL.
66 points in GW1 (Henry (c), RVN, Blanc, McPhail the main contributors).
GW2 on Saturday, planning to roll my transfer, though it'd be nice if Craig Burley was at least in Derby's squad for the next game.

Ill be clinging onto mine for dear life. Could be a lot of doubles throughout and injuries & an open transfer market could mean wholesale changes!

Re: ChampManFPL
6 players out this GW. Wish I had kept my WC now!
What I am realising with this game is that the dynamics aren't as real life FPL when it comes to form vs. fixtures - fixtures seem to take precedent over form. I think those that have played this sim game before certainly have the advantage over newbies like me who can't understand why there is so much love for Veron (given what we now know) and some complete unknown in Selafovic!!!

Think I've noticed streety, Pirlo's Beard and possibly robot in there as well. Any others? How's everyone doing / finding this?
