Hmmm moment.

Maybe best to leave things this week but I still have Sterling and ...
Comig from a FPL background it is strange planning for the blanks and doubles with no chips as a comfort blankie!
Out of interest who are your 7 missing? I only have 3 (KDB, Sterling & Lund) so afraid im missing some games !! ( City, Arse, SU and Villa?)
I am tripled on MC and SU, and also have Grealish. I also have Haller who I punted on for the DGW as I had a spare transfer I would lose, so at some point he ought to depart as well.

I could use 4 transfers at zero cost and bench the other 4 I suppose, but how to use the WC in this game?

Feels like I should be saving it for the likely madness in GW31-34 because at some point in there a major shift of squad is likely to become necessary, but as you say with no other chips available I am wondering if this makes the WC incredibly valuable, or of less benefit.

Anyone have any thoughts on how best to use it in GW31 and beyond?
Think ill work to have a decent 11 for the first big blank in 31 then WC in 32/33 to set up for the doubles and remainder of the season

Feel bad for those who went into the GW with 3 Man City players, fortunately only KdB for me.

I have 2 ... if Son gets rested I have no captain and a busy bench. With Lundstram thankfully.

Son will surely be a safe starter. Gulp.

Almost WC this week as I had 6 I wanted to change. Resisted urge and used 2FT to get rid of a MC and a WHU.

Genius!

Nice hold on Lundstram. I was one of the ones that took him out, but at least not for a points hit. Now that would have been a disaster!

Second WC planning

Post by raoul »

So, I am contemplating when to take the WC. My current squad has 6 players who miss GW28, so I need to get that down to 4 and bench them. But that would leave me starting two players who are only in there as reserves, both of whom have lost starting places (Maupay and Dendoncker).

My other problem is that at present I am short of GW31 options. Presumably more games will add so options will expand, so maybe this is not really an issue.

Wildcard ... with no other chips to link in, I am wondering whether to use it now, or wait till after GW31 and load up on teams with extra fixtures to fit in. In the latter case, I can aim to max out GW31 players knowing the following week they are gone, as long as I ensure those coming in for 31 have reasonable 28-30 of course.

I think the lack of info re FA Cup and the MC rescheduling suggest a wait and see approach.

What plans do others have?

Henderson
Pope (for GW28 and perhaps 31)

TAA
VVD
Egan
Boly
Taylor

(James, Lascelles also under consideration for the Taylor spot)

Salah
Son
Maddison
Perez
Traore

(Mahrez perhaps for Maddison, given I can easily bench him in 28 and have plenty of options)

Vardy
Jiminez
Ings

(Auba at some point, but when and for whom I am not sure - perhaps after the GW28 blank)

The above have stellar fixtures until GW33 or 34, by which point DGW and MC players will no doubt be a factor.

Very tempted to go for it, knowing GW28 covered, GW31 at least looking ok at this point, meaning transfers can be aimed at the DGW.

Opinions?

Well I just broke one of the cardinal rules that I have been good at following all season. Changes made at 11.26.

WC done. Looking strong for now and GW28 absences dealt with, but the GW31/32 fun and games will need to be managed through transfers and potentially some hits.

Hi. Does anyone know if there is anywhere that we can see a list of players by % ownership? Either total and/or cash places?

No Vardy or Ings - I guess most teams are decimated this week with it also being the Carabao Cup final :|

Could be - my screen at top right saying I still have teams in play, but no running teams on the main page. Looking at stats on the ffstuff page, all players have 0% ownership (apart from a rogue 2& figure for eriksen, bizarrely).

I had a transfers plan, so this is a little annoying. No problem with a suspension but some communication would be nice!

very unhappy with fanteam right now - just looking at my season teams and seen that wildcard has been activated without my say so - same for everyone, like it or not - I have complained strongly to their "support", i guess i'm not the only one. I was saving wildcard for later, others have used theirs already and are being given a huge advantage if this continues, integrity of the game is at risk now. They will be sending a letter soon apparently.

Just checked with FanTeam and anyone who hasn't used their wildcard will still have it after the 17th June restart.

So it's an extra wildcard for everyone.

Still not sure they should do this though. Thoughts?

I had teams already set up for a monthly, but that was a waste of time and effort, hence very unhappy with this. And i can't see how changing terms during the game is consistent with gambling law - which they are otherwise so keen to follow to the letter, hence the hassles many of us had earlier with i.d. checks and suchlike.

their tinkering week in week out is pretty appalling but this is in a different league altogether and gives an unnecessary advantage to front runners in a mess.

not only that but it penalises those with 2 transfers carried forward.

changing rules for a seasonal mid season is a no no.

chants of 'you don't know what you're doing!' ;)

I have not yet worked out if this helps me or not. So I guess until I do, there is no lack of objectivity in what I say.

So we can all reset teams. I am tempted to say this locks in everyone's advantage so far and rewards the better (ok, or luckier) players?

real shame seems they are prepared to compromise both their credibility and integrity as a gambling organisation on the basis of 'we know best' which clearly they don't if they are changing the rules 'in play' in a totally iniquitous fashion.

all very sad recent developments at fanteam but this is completely beyond the pale!

it favours heavily, front runners in a mess, anyone without a wildcard left as they get back into shape with 9 games left and anyone who had not saved a transfer carried forward as those that have lose their transfer advantage through no fault of their own.

so depends how you stand in that respect.

the real loser though is fanteams who undermine the credibility integrity and trust going forward if they happily change the rules governing 'in play' wagers.

This is effing ridiculous. 27 years I think it is of "playing" fantasy football with varying degrees of success, but over all those years there has been one bugbear, which i thought we had seen the back of; companies who, for whatever reason or excuse or just incompetence, change the rules of a game half way through the season. And as many of us are aware from experience, gambling commission would say it's not their problem. Same old, same old.

They have done it already, look at your team page, your wildcard has been activated already. Chris says earlier that those of us who still have wildcards to play won't lose them, but it still radically changes the dynamic of the game of course. They have said will message soon, i'm guessing and hoping they might have to rethink because I can see legal issues with this, it's not like a freebie small prize competition, just a matter of £1/4m prizes.

COVID did play havoc with the fixtures though - I was originally expecting Villa vs Sheff U to take place at a much later date and now it has been brought forward. I did have the full 6 Man City and Arsenal players so not happy that everyone else now gets to benefit from this with the Man City DGW more appealing this time around than it was before the break.

Have the FA Cup games been rescheduled to take place on the same GW as before the postponements? If not - then an extra wildcard is probably necessary as people would have been planning ahead for that.

Apart from the two rescheduled matches - one of which (man city-ars) most people would have been prepping up for anyway, fixtures appear to be in the exact same order as originally scheduled. FA cup doesn't change schedule as those postponed matches will simply be moved three or four days forward but stay in the same "game week", there is no need whatsoever for an extra wildcard.

the issues are many including some having 2 transfers not 1 brought forward and a huge advantage to teams in front as teams will become similar and to those in a mess as they are now free of it and the additional wildcard some have is devalued.

as quizking says it is completely beyond the pale to change rules 'in play' for a seasonal pay to play game there is ZERO excuse for this course of action.

If they do it, which i suspect they will then they damage their credibility and integrity going forward as it becomes impossible to trust any rules or T&C in their sportsbook either, it is potentially massively damaging to fanteam.

as has been said the gambling commission are one of our most completely inept and disinterested regulatory bodies. the people to contact are very clearly IBAS and i will do so on monday failing a change of course. i suggest others do the same or fanteam are out of control.

i must admit my plans for seasonals next year were SDT & fanteam, but if they go ahead with this it will be short term games plus SDT only.

the problem is i don't trust them or their ilk to still be around come payout and given the state of the nation in covid terms i would expect a 2nd wave of the virus to create similar issues next season. i can just about live with that if fanteam are not behaving like out of control idiots but if they are i can't stand it and won't play seasonals bar SDT next season.

the amount of pointless tinkering taking place (which they are entitled to do however many longstanding customers it loses) made me think they had taken on ranieri but tbh this has more the look of dom cummings about it!
