52 points in the first half... How few in the second?

Texans are cooked having been 24-0 up and now losing....

Their kicker is called Claire Bear? 😐

Interesting to see Bill Cowher and Jimmy Johnson named to the HoF, as I was only recently reading an article on how high the bar was for head coaches. They tended to be marked down for things like patchy post-season records (Cowher), relative failure with a second team (Johnson) or inheriting a great team (George Seifert, who won two SBs but wasn’t even among the coaches shortlisted for the centennial class).

It made me wonder who of the current crop will get in, bar the first-ballot banker Belichick. The likes of Payton, Carroll, Tomlin and Harbaugh all have one Super Bowl ring and many years of winning records but is that enough? It’s so hard to build a dynasty in this era, especially when there’s a 20-year-long one overshadowing everything.

Purcells?

The trouble with using SB's is that BB has won so many that aren't the same number to go round 😂

Yeah, but even if we look at NFC titles, not too many teams have more than one this millennium...

Well those people who argue Eli (I don't) should have an HC or 2 to nominate?

I've not followed it since the days of Riggins and LT , but yes few seem to stay good for a few years.

Carroll for longevity?

I'm watching the Seahawks losing on YouTube (search NFL Full Game). From the highlights it seemed comfortable....

Brady heads for Carolina...

(that’s Joe Brady, presumably no relation, the Panthers’ new offensive coordinator)

The Vikings have done a whack of travelling so I've gone 49ers, as I think they lose next weekend, with the winners facing Kansas.
Any other predictions?

Sounds unpretty insignificant in the scheme of things i.e. if he attends the voluntary stuff and learns the playbook...

Im not sure that he is part of the problem, beyond the fact that they could have strengthened to OL rather than traded a Pick for him.

Brown to the Browns, has to be a career saver

As far as Becks goes though, throwing superstars and egos at a team that has struggled for years rarely works, as new-money Premier League teams have also found. You need to bake the cake before you add the icing.

I think the free agency QB market will be a bit of a damp squib... Brady and Brees will end up staying where they are and the younger ones will get franchise tagged if they can’t agree terms. Rivers looks like the main candidate for a team needing a quick fix starter. After that it will be the usual journeyman backups on the market.

Hopefully it will be more chaotic than that :(

One thing supporting you boring point is whether the oldies want to be learning new play books....

When will Ben's elbow become centre of attention? Otherwise they have 0 QB's?

If Ben remains a question mark the Steelers will surely move in the draft. They will know the Duck and the Reindeer aren’t viable backups anyway. Even if the big names don’t relocate, someone might be next year’s Tannehill...

Teams with QBs on big contracts aren’t going to pull the plug midway through. You risk taking a salary cap hit and ending up without a viable starter. It needs to be a Blake Bortles type situation where the player is performing below average backup level for an extended time. If they’re hovering around the Dalton Line you just stick it out and don’t give them another nine-figure deal next time...

Anyway, play-off football is primarily about running the ball.

Well, he hasn’t had a RB since they got rid of Khunt.

If anyone can overcome that unwritten rule it’s Mahomes, but superstar QBs have so often seen their supporting cast found wanting in the new year. If opponents know there’s no plan B on offense, a good defence can find a way to shut them down.

So Reid doesn't just choke....

They should be interesting games, and if it is KC vs SF then hopefully it is close so choking or throwing away (no pun intended 😂) a big lead is put to bed....

Imagine, though, if the Tits keep on winning when they should lose 😱
