FanTeam - World Champ of Online Fantasy Football - €100,000 prize fund

Post by admin »

Fanteam announces the third instalment of the World Championship of Online Fantasy Football! Do you have what it takes to become a World Champion? If you can climb to the top in the final, you can cash out €30,000! The prize pool in the final is guaranteed to be €100,000.

The buy-in in the final is €1,050, but don’t worry, it is very possible to get into the final without paying big bucks. Actually, the vast majority of the finalists will qualify via satellites, which will be running many times a week from now until the end of December. The final in itself will consist of two gameweeks of Premier League in daily fantasy style where the points from round 2 gets added to round 1 to get the final score. The two final rounds are independent, so you will be able to create a brand new team in round two without getting any penalties - this is the real DFS experience. The final starts on the 28th of December, so we recommend you start trying to qualify as soon as possible!

Pay-out table for the WCOFF 2019
WCOFF-payout.png
These are the pay-outs, based on a prize pool of €100,000. The pool can obviously never be smaller than this, but it could be bigger, in which case the extra money will be added to the prizes.

In the tournament lobby, you will find satellites for the WCOFF every day. There will be different buy-in levels. As of now, in the lobby there are buy-ins of €2.75, which lead to another satellite with €55 buy-in, but there are €11 and €55 buy-in contests that lead directly to the final too. There will be other variants as well. Many of the satellites will be based on Premier League matches, but other leagues and even other sports will be used to get a big variety of buy-ins. Some satellites award tickets to other satellites, while some award tickets to the final. If you are unsure which one it is, please check the ‘details’ button for the given satellite in the lobby.

Looks like if you just register for FanTeam then by logging in regularly you can enter a Freeroll on Boxing Day for which the winner receives a ticket (worth 1k euros) to the WCOFF (1st prize 30k euros min):

'Forgive us that we interrupt your weekend, but we are the bearers of good news! In order to celebrate Christmas, we will have a freeroll on Boxing Day – 26th of December – where first prize is a €1,050 ticket to the WCOFF final!

🔴 The freeroll is only accessible by ticket

🔴 Freeroll tickets will be given out based on how many days you log in
before Christmas

🔴 No other action is required, just log in to your account

🔴 For every sixth day you do this between the 1st and 24th,
you will get one freeroll ticket

🔴 Maximum number of tickets per person will be 4

🔴 All freeroll tickets will be issued on December 25th.

So, if you have not visited Fanteam.com for a while, this is a free shot of winning €30,000, as that is the first prize of the WCOFF final, which starts on the 28th of December! Imagine starting the New Year with a boost to your bank account! If you already are playing regularly on Fanteam, just continue with it, but make sure that you log in on as many days as possible!'

Update from FanTeam:

'You may have noticed we have a fun promotion running. In the Christmas spirit, we are giving out one free ticket to the final of World Championship of Online Fantasy Football! All you have to do is to log in at least once per day, and as many days as possible between now and the 24th, and you will get up to 4 tickets to the freeroll on Boxing Day (26th of December). The first prize in this freeroll is a ticket to the WCOFF final. Please note that we will issue all tickets to the freeroll on December 25th and not each time one additional ticket is earned. Additionally, you can keep track of how many days you have logged in and how many tickets you have earned so far, by checking your player account panel.

It is of course possible to qualify to the WCOFF final by playing the satellites. This is the way most people will get to the final. Especially interesting perhaps are the full round PL satellites that start with the early match of Saturday. It is like Weekly Monster, but with a twist: One additional match. Buy-in €11 guarantees 1 seat, and €55 buy-in guarantees 2 seats. Don’t worry, if you win a seat in a satellite and then a seat in the freeroll, you can use both! Maximum number of entries per user in the WCOFF final is 3.'

News from FanTeam:

'Max 3 entries per user in the WCOFF final

Interest has been big for the World Championship of Online Fantasy Football! A lot of seats are distributed each week from the satellites, and right now it looks like it may go over the guarantee! With a €100,000 GTD prize pool, there is going to enough money to play for, regardless. We should stress that there is a limit on how many seats you can have in the final, and the magic number is 3. If you are lucky enough to qualify 3 times, it is time to focus on other tournaments than the satellites!

The WCOFF final is now open for direct buy-in as well. '

one thing had been on my mind about the qualifiers, could just be me but couldn't see anything in the rules.

so had a chat with the (un)help(ful) desk, on this occasion the guy seemed to know what he was talking about (whether he did or not i don't know as it hasn't affected me yet).

the qualifiers frequently have a single prize, one ticket for the final! i realised that if we have say 3 equal scores with a 1200 entry for a 1050 that presents a problem.

the rules state cheapest team wins which is fair enough, but with 5x and 6x games and the 'impact' scores still in place in single game QF in particular, also 2 match even, there is a high likelihood of winning entries being identical!

i dislike 5/6 player games so rarely enter them and it occurred to me they might split on the earliest entry which i am told they did used to do but was deemed unfair (and no doubt reduced entries too!) and they have changed. so the 1 ticket guarantee contests are quite likely to result in no ticket, just playing for a load of cash, less 10% rake if filled!

so basically if the entry was 1200 and 3 identical teams tie then the payout is 3x400, not actually a ticket!

just going on what the help desk have told me, who can be unreliable but if accurate at least you don't do your money if you were one of the later of identical winning entries, on the other hand there is no ticket available if there is no unique winner of qualifiers!

so basically the qualifier contests DO NOT guarantee a ticket if i have been advised correctly. i suspect most single game and a lot of 2-game contest will be settled as split cash.

Hi there, thank you for your feedback and critics.
We had to take the decision to split the prices in cash since there is not really another way of doing it. However, so far we only had 2 instances where a ticket was split. So we do not see it as a big issue. On top, the qualify events usually have an Overlay; so even if no ticket, but instead cash is received, the EV is often positive.

Anyways, we are open to hear your suggestion. What would you have improved for the split prizes ?

Heading to the final days, considering that some of our best players already have their tickets, it should also be much easier to win a ticket via the satellites. We wish you good luck

Best regards,

i think that you made the best decision to be honest regarding the split prizes.

always happy to offer thoughts for your consideration looking to improve the game going forward.

one of the issues you have is that the impact scores reduce variation. e.g. say 2-1 scoreline if you have a scoring player from each side the winner has the impact player, who may be outranked by an assister too on the winning side.

this also damages your main seasonal game by reducing interest in the lower ranked teams as the swing is +2 for a player in a winning team compared to a losing team. historically the metro and daily star had the same game bar the equivalent of your impact points in the metro which made it a far far worse game by reducing reasonable choices.

back to your issue here i am not sure how many 5-player contests there have been, not many presumably, surprised there are only two tied (multiple or not) so far.

i've never liked mix n match and find 5/6 player qualifiers for 11 player finals goes against the grain. there is a blatantly obvious solution to this, start qualifiers early and make them 11 player events.

all the best,

andy

FanTeam news:

'The World Championship of Online Fantasy Football is right around the corner. Having a seat in that €100,000 final will be very exciting, with a very moderate number of entries (around 100) fighting for the biggest prizes we have seen to date in a daily fantasy tournament!

If you want to get in for cheap, you have basically two more chances:

This weekend’s Premier League round will give out more than 10 seats from satellites, and the round on December 26th (Boxing Day) will give out a similar number.

We try to offer a variety of buy-ins and both full round satellites and single matches, so hopefully you can find a satellite that suits you!'

Am I missing something?

Has it not yet been created?

New rule introduced today stating that each person can have a maximum of 3 entries.

If anyone has already acquired more than 3 then they wil be compensated.

No point entering any more satellites if you already have 3 entries.

Maybe they didn't have it in the WCOFF comp rules/terms and only just updated them today.

Half way through the WCOFF and I see we have at least 1 fisonian in the top 10. Good luck in choosing the team for GW21.

Only 116 teams entered/qualified and 20th place wins 2,000 euros with 1st 30k.

nope 6th & 78th for 5k euros.

close final call cost me a 4-way tie, although it seems they split it in some shape or form.

went for krul over fabianski as i already had players from 5 teams and wanted him paired with pukki.

you could say it was an expensive mistake/decision as i would have picked fabianski in isolation but loads of luck in this game, look how lucky i was to bag 2x citeh CS in the previous round.

all you can do is structure your team well and cross your fingers!

i wasn't personally happy at having the final over two obvious 'rotation weeks' but the safety net made that game of russian roulette more bearable.

regarding subs i went for mane as i got salah if he didn't start whereas salah not playing would have been unbearable.

re keits i knew i had reasonable back up with lallana & milner if he no showed, which was ultimately the case!

congrats to winner fscotti.

you need luck in this game to do well, enjoy it when it goes your way!

thanks ronny,

in the long run obviously you can win, but a 10% rake would be extremely tough.

i am friendly with a former top 100 ranked DK DFS player and very few make money at daily sports.

clearly it can be done and the mouthy analyst for one of the big tipping sites says you could take away maybe two of his big wins and he would be in the red!

it's easier to judge how you are doing in some other contests but these big field ones are hard to assess as you can incur some pretty steady losses before cashing in!

chris i very much doubt 2 euros was the sum contribution to the overall pot of fscotti1.

not sure what i put in for 2x 1050 tickets but wouldnt be surprised if it was pushing 1000!

it's a great game to play for fun, most will obviously lose in the long run but it's maybe more fun with a chance of a big pot than placing an accumulator or two at the weekend!

Hi everyone -Im fscottl and I can agree with Andre1966 that I did have some incredible luck to win this, from last minute goals to last seconds substitutions (Salah) which if he hadnt gone off with 30 secs to go would have put me 3rd. My luck actually went deeper because I hardly spent anything getting my 1 and only ticket. I didnt even realise it was a Comp over 2 game weeks until 2 days before it started having only started playing Fanteam in Nov. I would like to thank everyone on FISO over the years for keeping me motivated by your banter when times were a bit harder FF wise.
I feel the FF gods were paying me back all at once for all the mistakes and bad decisions I have made over many many years of playing FF in one form or another

Wow - sounds like an acceptance speech.
