Gameweek 3 Captain
Gets interesting here. Will non-owners of premium FWD bite the bullet and get Kane, possibly for a hit? Play safe with Sterling? Or maybe, not-such-a-bad outside bet on Mo?
Oh and of course, Puk(k)i

I replaced Auba with Kane only because this Newcastle game he plays at home. It is Kane and Kane only. With Son in the team it creates even more space for him in the box. Outstanding captain potential for GW3.

Gotta be Kane, but have an odd memory of him blanking last season or the season before when people were TC'ing him and can't remember if that was Newcastle... might've been Swansea I'm not sure.

Kane, but if he doesn't hit double digits and/or Sterling outperforms him, I'll be perma-captaining Raz every single week thereafter.
Expected more from Salah week 1 and Auba week 2 despite having the best fixtures.

Was Cardiff. Swerved him that time, one of the few times leaving Kane out didn't punish me. For some reason, I always end up not having him, and never learn..The Royal BlueNose wrote:Gotta be Kane, but have an odd memory of him blanking last season or the season before when people were TC'ing him and can't remember if that was Newcastle... might've been Swansea I'm not sure.

Auba is away at Liverpool, I don't think he's a realistic option. Well any more an option than Ings against Brighton or Richarlison against Villa!
I have Sterling, Salah and Kane. I think Man City will obliterate Bournemouth and I don't have De Bruyne so I'm currently on Sterling.

Forgot to add the option to amend votes. That's actually not a bad thing, first instinct is usually the best. In my case though, it represents the till-now solitary vote for Mo

I’m on Kane at the moment, but I’m not ruling out Sterling. I can see both Newcastle and Bournemouth getting torn apart.

Re: Gameweek 3 Captain
That's last season. I remember it as my friend used a TC of Kane against me and got 3 points )) Let me find out about what GW it was.The Royal BlueNose wrote:Gotta be Kane, but have an odd memory of him blanking last season or the season before when people were TC'ing him and can't remember if that was Newcastle... might've been Swansea I'm not sure.
Edit: it was GW8, the home game of Tottenham team against visiting Cardiff team. Tottenham won 1-0 (Eric Dier '8) in the end but Kane got booked with a yellow card, leaving us with only 1 FPL point

Thinking of bringing in Kane but I already have Sterling and Salah and I am more than comfortable captaining Sterling away at Bournemouth. Potentially looking at Martial too but think i'll stick with Raz.

Re: Gameweek 3 Captain
I think I under-weighted the home advantage for Sterling last week and over-weighted the opponent strength (especially given Liverpool's midweek escapades). But, City are just amazing so I'm planning on doing the same thing again this week anyway!
That makes it Sterling (c) Salah (vc) in a reverse of last week, but it's very close for a second week running.

Re: Gameweek 3 Captain
Given how poor Newcastle have been, Kane looks the obvious choice (if you have him). But I have read that his past record against Newcastle is poor (2 goals and 0 assists in prev 7 games), compared to Sterling who has 8 goals and 2 assists in past 7 games against Bournemouth. I don’t have Kane so currently planning on Sterling (c) and Martial (vc). Do you think that previous records/performance be taken into consideration or ignored ?

They are a factor imo, just not as important as present form.no eye deer wrote:Given how poor Newcastle have been, Kane looks the obvious choice (if you have him). The results of corresponding matches are also something I see. After that, various factors such as who was manager then, past vs present playing style should be taken into account.

I'm just hoping the Toon are bruced\bruised for the weekend. I'm not big on banding Fwd's as they get less for a goal and no CS point, but I WC'ed with this match in mind
