A one-week switch to Mane plus armband could be very profitable
Mane's record vs Southampton

5 games
0 goals
0 assists

Go for it.

I was dead set on Salah this week but due to his 90 minutes last night I have just switched - Sterling (C)

Wasn't there 30 mins et too?

Tbh avoiding this decision was part of my decision to only have 1 of them.

Was a toss up between Sterling and Salah as ive talked myself out of a punt on Sigurdsson who I think will contribute to something v Watford.
The plan was to alternate with home advantage so Sterling (c) Salah (vc).

Wish id not gone on the liverpool forum, as most of them are all most certain that Salah be rested for Shaq or Origi.

Think im going to switch to Sterling C and Salah V

We all know forums are full of clowns 🤣

Salah played the full 90 in the community shield too. Rarely gets taken off and rarely gets rested/benched. He’s obviously a very physical fit/strong guy who Klopp feels comfortable flogging.

Fact is, we have no idea if he’ll play or not. We aren’t blessed with options if he doesn’t.

Arguably Firmino and Mane got some respite.
So those two plus Origi could start? Or Shaqiri on the right do not to upset the team shape. I can see the thinking.

I think given extra time last night I'll probably switch to Sterling. The two are quite close anyway and while I expect Salah to start on Saturday there's no telling what the overall effect of the 120 mins and travelling will have on the Liverpool team as a whole. Perhaps the win will galvanise them, perhaps they will be too tired to press, who knows.

City are quite capable of putting two or three past anyone, so it's not a great risk really.

Aubemeyang does extremely well against Burnley
Kane has started scoring in August.
Salah plays a seemingly poor defence of Southampton.

After a good start I wonder whether I should play it safe and put the armband on Salah or whether I shall take a risk on either of the first two. Fortunately there is still a week to think about it.
Decision taken:

Auba (C)
Sterling (VC)

Yep. Why have Auba for 2 GW's and not band him this weekend?

Getting Kane for GW3?

I agree i dont always go off what they say on there myself, but my gut feeling made me have a look to check the fans thoughts.

If Salah had played 90 mins id be fine, but 120 mins and the fact he played so much after arriving back late from a busy summer, i just really feel they can afford to rest him and maybe bring him on last 20 if needed.

Also im 100% certain Sterling will start and looks in great form after last week, with free scoring Man City at home and to a Spurs side they will be looking to avenge for last season champs league defeat, i can just really feel City putting on a good show and turning them over by 4 or 5 goals.

Sounds like ive already talked myself into the sterling captain role, just hope so early in the season it does not back fire, as i can imagine the masses will stick to there guns and Captain Salah

To be honest i felt we played quite poor against West Ham even though it was 5-0 in the end. If we play like that against Spurs I’d be concerned. I feel like if this was a home game Salah might be rested as they can get away with it however as it’s away I feel like Klopp will want him to secure the points. Plus let’s not forget it’s mainly down to the player to tell the manager if they feel alright. Salah wants the golden boot again I’m sure. Whatever minutes he’s played are you telling me he’s going to tell Klopp he’s tired after 3 games? I doubt it personally and I’m captaining him anyway. Hopefully I don’t eat my words 😂

Yes i agree your were not at the races against west ham and still managed 5 goals.
Spurs were poor against Villa and got lucky in last 10 mins to get all 3 points.

Also another reason im going to captain Sterling now is that ive got a match myself on Saturday and wont be home till 5pm, so i will enjoy the game more with Sterling havig the Captain armband 😊

Interested to know what the people without auba/sterling are doing.

My pre season planning did not account for this midweek 120mins for Salah so I'm left with Kane and Salah as my underwhelming premium options.... I'm temped to stick it on TAA and hope for a clean + assist/s.

I would be wary of that as Adrian is looking a bit rocky to start.

A fan clattered him after the Super Cup and his ankle is swollen.....

I just can not resist captaining Aubameyang this week.

I also have Salah, but Auba's goalscoring record againt Burnley is amazing.

Sterling's last 10 PL home starts:

6 goals, 3 assists, 4.35 xG, 1.94 xA

Salah's last 10 PL away starts:

4 goals, 1 assist, 4.79 xG, 1.94 xA

Auba's last 10 PL home starts:

10 goals, 3 assists, 9.95 xG, 1.45 xA

Different final output for Sterling/Salah, but similar underlying numbers despite's Salah's disadvantage of being away.

Auba surely the best option if you have him...
