The stats are dark and full of errors.
Re: Budget stikers (4.5-6.5)
Poll has been reset and Wood added. Would be interesting to see if people's view has changed over the last week and going into the last week of pre-season matches.

I hadn’t realised Locadia was a forward this season. 5.5 seems good value.

Re: Budget stikers (4.5-6.5)
This. Anyone have Intel on Locadia?
Apparently hes Doing well in PreSeason. As I can understand a attacking Brighton Would be the perfect team for Graham Potter to coach. I know what he did with Östersund in Swe and kinda same
Thing could hapen now (same type of players but ofc not the same level).
Bet Potter can get something good out of Locadia.
With Brightons pretty good fixturens and for 5,5 maybe hes worth a shot? (If Brighton doest sign anyone Else).
Delefou -> Locadia would give me Pickford -> Ederson and Zinchenko -> Digne.
A small upgrade I think.

I think you have the horse and cart the wrong way round ie he has been brought in to make them less boring\defensive.goooner wrote: ↑29 Jul 2019, 21:14This. Anyone have Intel on Locadia?

All I know is that he has gone more 433 with Locadia (I am sure there is a joke here re corner shop vs High St of Arcadia infamy ) with Tossard (who sounds like a chocolate manufacturer or shop) either side of Murray (the mint ) So a tasty front 3 with only 1 dodgy match in the first 6 Citeh away in GW4, so they need to hit the ground running, imho. For survival chances I prefer Norwich and Lpool and Citeh in their 1st 5 along with Chelsea at Home.
I don't know if Gross is injured etc, but would he fit in the middle 3?

I thought Locadia was always a forward on FPL?

My mistake then. I thought he was listed as a midfielder last season.

Re: Budget stikers (4.5-6.5)
Would doubling up with Wilson and King be too much?
I have Wilson and Delo right now, but Delo's underlying stats leave a bit to be desired.
King plays relatively deep for a forward but hard to ignore BOU's opening fixtures. Just feel that doubling up on Bourenmouth forwards may be overkill.

I can see that ppl getting Wilson as a placeholder until some Chelski option appears. Other than that I cant see him be of great value for 8m and would go for King.huskerdu wrote: ↑30 Jul 2019, 16:57 Would doubling up with Wilson and King be too much?

To much with both. Risk Management (BOU could be a fraud).

Re: Budget stikers (4.5-6.5)
after only 8 minutes of play against Nice, Chris Woods has just scored 2 goals, bringing his total to 8 goals so far in the pre-season phase. The opening match at home against Southampton seems a good prospect for him to keep his momentum alive. Reviews of Woods?

Perhaps Wood had a stroke of good fortune with both his goals coming in the first 10 minutes?

Re: Budget stikers (4.5-6.5)
Woods is hopeless, don’t pick him, 8 goals and an assist in preseason dosen’t count, Boselli and all that.....nothing to see here, definitely NOT a 1.1% owned differential at home to SOU in GW1

It's Wood, not Woods!
He's definitely no Boselli, he's already proved he's capable of scoring goals in the PL. I think he'll have a good season.

wiseowl65 wrote: ↑31 Jul 2019, 09:19 If and when they sign McBurnie Sheffield United will have an abundance of strikers to choose from five in total so rotation will be a nightmare, three of them will be new signings so they are going to want to get some game time. They will play 2 up front but guessing the right pairing each week will be anyone's guess. Wilder does like to rotate his front pairing. Callum Robinson wont play as the furthest forward of the midfield three they have Freeman and Morrison for that role so it will be 2 from 5.

Re: Budget stikers (4.5-6.5)
I currently have Jota and King pencilled in because I am not entirely sure about the other options in this price range.
At Burnley they have Wood, Barnes and Rodriguez likely fighting for starting roles. Will there be clear cut starters or will rotation happen? Also will they play two up top or one up top? A bit risky at this stage.
Pukki was prolific in the championship but can he replicate it in the premier league? I think he's on the watchlist.
Wesley and Joelington are intriguing options if they adapt to the league, so again on the watchlist.
Calvert-Lewin has his supporters but he's not nailed on to start and even if he does, he isn't a prolific goalscorer.
Southampton's strikers are rotation risks. I'd like to say Ings will start but even when he does he gets the Aguero treatment and he's no Aguero.
If Beneteke can find his shooting boots he has value but he's not done much the past two seasons.
So realistically outside of Jota and King, I'd say the Watford duo of Deulofeu and Deeney are potentially the next best options.

Re: Budget stikers (4.5-6.5)
Wood is as guaranteed a starter as you're going to get at this stage. Barnes' successful partnership with Wood last season and Jay Rod's versatility means that Rodriguez is likely to start on the bench but it wouldn't surprise me to see him replace Barnes in the starting line up as the season progresses.

Re: Budget stikers (4.5-6.5)
I have looked at Locadia this morning and see he's playing quite lot of minutes in friendlies.
Could be a steal at 5.5
He's only bench fodder for me anyway, juggling Dendonker and Dunk (hopefully off to Leicester) (fixture depending)

Highlights of Burnley - Nice here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RionNAkS7fQ
All 3 of Wood's goals were jammy, I'm not overly convinced. No way he'd ever be getting that much time or space in the Premier League, nor a defender literally passing him the ball.

Hmmm, jammy , there is a skill being in the right place at the right time, jammy is stopping to scratch your arse and ball bounces of your ankle onto a beach ball that blew into the pitch

Re: Budget stikers (4.5-6.5)
If anyone expects that to happen on a regular basis then good luck to them!
Not necessarily saying he won't be a good pick, just that if people are suddenly now considering him purely because of that hat-trick against Nice then they're making a decision based on a headline alone.

Re: Budget stikers (4.5-6.5)
True. If, however, they're considering him based on the fact that he's an experienced international striker with two seasons' worth of reliable Premier League goalscoring behind him, playing for a team that plays to his strengths, then I'd say they're making a far better decision.
