The stats are dark and full of errors.
6.0-8.5 Midfielders
Looks to a lot of interesting options in this price range, and it looks better than the striker category of equivalent price certainly, so who are you looking out for in pre-season?
Looking closely at the lower end of the list, Yarmolenko/Lanzini, McNeil & Redmond could be value. Will be watchlisting Keita (have high hopes for him this season) & Almiron too.

On the subject of West Ham players Pablo Fornals could be interesting.
If Norwich are freescoring then someone like Buendía.
Also got my eye on the Chelsea midfield as someone should emerge from Hazards shadow and rack up a few points.

Re: 6.0-8.5 Midfielders
A little cheaper than the thread title but I can't find the thread for the cheaper midfielders other than the 4.5m thread!
Anyway, has anybody got any thoughts on the 5.5m midfielder group?
Three have caught my eye:
McGinn (Villa) - Really nice fixtures once past GW1 and having a great pre season
Robinson (Shef Utd) - 4 of the first 5 games are pretty good, another who has excelled so far in pre season and has been playing as a striker scoring three goals
Ceballos (Arsenal) - not played much as only just signed, Arsenal fans raving about him though, apparently can play as an 8 or a 10, but from what I can tell it's not clear yet where he will play and looks to be a bit of competition in that Arsenal midfield.
All three to me look to have potential, especially for such a budget price, usually players in this bracket are quite defensive but the three above are all very attacking and potentially key men in their teams.

Like he was when he was at United.
I think he is a great player but when he is the "Big Fish in a small pond" but when he gets into the big pond I am not so sure as yet. Admittedly he wasn't given much of a chance at United but he obviously didn't prove himself worthy of that chance at the time. Jury is out for me if he moves. If he stays then I am on him I think from GW1.

Looks like going to Everton and i can picture him doing well there.
Richarlison siggy Zaha is a decent front 3, behind a striker

Well he is far better than Lewis Hamilton
But I was kinda hoping he would play CF there and they found a better penalty taker

I don’t think we have enough to go on to say this. You could say the same about KDB at Chelsea. We could say this if Zaha had failed at multiple big clubs but we can’t say this because of one club when he was still young and only had about two appearances. I don’t think he set the world alight at Cardiff either. Anyways, it’s a moot point now seeing as Everton aren’t a big clubDAREEL wrote:He's already failed at a big club though . Re: 6.0-8.5 Midfielders
Any thoughts about Tanguy Ndombele from Spurs?
From what I've seen he is some kind of CM (sometimes DM) but he's full of technique and skill for one midfielder.
Great ball control and dribbling, but how much would he be involved into the Spurs attack? I see him as a crucial part of a build-up but looks more like a player who makes the pass that comes before the assist.

I just think he's very overrated. He falls down everytime someone touches him. He loses ball a lot and he won't get away with that at a big club. He's also a bit of a card magnet for FPL and never gets baps..don't get the love but we all make our own opinions my man
Bar Rashford I think he's probably most overrated player in prem personally.

That fair bro. I’m not actually a huge Zaha fan either and agree with the above - especially on Rashford!DAREEL wrote:escape_to_victory wrote: ↑30 Jul 2019, 13:08I don’t think we have enough to go on to say this. Re: 6.0-8.5 Midfielders
I currently have Siggy and Milivojevic in my midfield. In Siggy's case he has two out of the last three seasons with a 180 points, he's a regular on set pieces, offers a goal and assist threat, and plays pretty much every week. As for Milivojevic, he is on penalties and chips in with goals, again a regular player and scored 144 and 164 points in the past two seasons.
Richardson and Zaha are good alternatives at the same price points.
Fraser 7.5 and Anderson 7.0 are good players that offer goals and assists as well.
There is plenty of value in this price range and one of Chelsea's midfielders emerge like Mason or Barkley, they could provide extremely good value at 6.0, as could James if he lands a regular starting role at Man Utd.

Re: 6.0-8.5 Midfielders
Thought Nathan Redmond would be selected by more than 2.5% of teams.
In 2018-19 under each permanent manager:
Mark Hughes: 14 games, 0 goals, 0 assists
Ralph Hasenhuttl: 23 games, 6 goals, 4 assists
A huge improvement under the tutelage of a coach with genuine tactical acumen. You'd expect them to be a very open, free-flowing side and there should be good numbers for Ings, Adams and Redmond as a result.
