As many of you will know the Velogames Tour De France Competition will not be run as George does not want to run the threat of legal action from the Tour as happened last year.

There are a number of alternative games most of which involve transfers - which is appreciated are not everyone’s cup of tea. That said will put up a league for each of these this week. Feel free to join any. Starting with Road CC.

1. Standard Competition - with transfers and

2. Purist Competition. - no transfers. Opening day Team pick scores over the duration of the Tour

This makes me very cross indeed.The only charitable way of viewing ASO's actions last year was the need to remove competition for its own new fantasy game(which it ripped off from the Velogames template and then messed up on points of detail).There is no sign of an ASO game reappearing this year,yet George still fears legal action.ASO thus reject heightened invovement from 20 odd thousand cycling fans globally.Total ASOles.

Just looking at the route and initially thought there was no individual time trial... turns out there is one, but it’s in the middle, which is unusual. Sandwiched between two big stages in the Pyrenees. I wonder how that will affect tactics? Normally the best TT riders try to minimise damage in the mountains to give them a chance on the penultimate day...

I put in less effort than usual and came 2nd. My team won every jersey and I also had Alaphillipe. Wrong sprinter (Gron not Ewen) but happy with my big names. Failed on the cheapo pin sticks.
