Re: Budget stikers (4.5-6.5)
Chris Wood will be Burnley's first choice striker and probably penalty taker. He's scored six goals in preseason already and should really have been included in this poll.
I expect Jay Rod will be used as a more withdrawn forward and possibly even out wide.

I agree Wood is one of the standout options in this category but your fixtures...
After an early WC though he is firmly on the radar

Yes the first four fixtures are tough, but Barnes and Jay have been included in this poll and I think Wood is a better option than either.David Luiz Is A Hero wrote: ↑24 Jul 2019, 08:42I agree Wood is one of the standout options in this category but your fixtures...

Joelinton added at 6m. Will be our main man up top so a good price for a guaranteed starter.

Re: Budget stikers (4.5-6.5)
surprised about the lack of love for DCL
Finished the season undisputed first choice playing most games. In a side with good fixtures and good players around him (siggy, richarlison etc) and at an age where you would expect him to improve.
cheaper than king, deeney and wood who are being touted here and points per 90m last season (unless my calculations wrong !!!)
Deeney 4.1
King 4.28
DCL 4.68
Wood 4.7
I would argue DCL has the most improvement in him having only really established himself 2nd half of the season and being the youngest.
I know some people aren't picking him because everton might sign someone but at the moment they haven't and I'm only thing about where we are now

Re: Budget stikers (4.5-6.5)
He is easier to get in than shift if they don't sign someone......
This 6-6.5m range is loaded with potential, but if they don't get someone ie Costa then I will probably have him for GW1.

Joe Linton could be interesting if Newcastle are willing to splash the cash to give him a supporting cast.

The stats are dark and full of errors.
Re: Budget stikers (4.5-6.5)
I'll reset the poll and add him in (replacing Barnes and JRod) after the weekend's round of friendlies. It will be interesting to see if opinion is shifting as the weeks go by but it's useful anyway to add emerging or missed options to the list.

Re: Budget stikers (4.5-6.5)
Nobody has mentioned Deeney in this discussion so far and he isn't even on the poll. He is good for at least 120pts based on previous performances and the opening fixture is pretty tasty. Plus the following 3 GW's aren't exactly scary shit for Watford. Coupled with a very low ownership I think he would almost be classified to qualify for the overlooked players thread. I also believe he is on penalties isn't he?

In fairness, King has taken the number 7 shirt for this season.
Whereas Chicharito has taken the number 9 for West Ham...

Re: Budget stikers (4.5-6.5)
Can any Brighton fans offer some thoughts on Locadia?
Was watching their game earlier and he looked good, made one scored one and now has two assists and two goals so far this pre season.
Was playing just off Murray and along with Trossard he was the best player, priced just 5.5 and I like five of the first six games for Brighton.
DCL (and Everton) really struggling for goals so far this pre season, if Locadia can get a fresh start under the new manager he could be a viable budget option, and save 0.5 on DCL.

Re: Budget stikers (4.5-6.5)
King is tempting for my final team. I need to think about pre-season form however and Deulofeu is another I'm tempted by as an alternative. Scratch that seen he swapped positions so would have got less points last year
Zaha is a forward. Centre forward or wing forward. Played centre forward most of last year. Secondary left forward. Most the high scoring mids on FF are actually forwards in real life, so easy mistake for him to make.

yes I know, but on the game he's listed as a midfielder, so even if Zaha is in my squad he doesn't fill a striker spot.FootballFanatic wrote: ↑27 Jul 2019, 19:17 King is tempting for my final team. Re: Budget stikers (4.5-6.5)
yes I know, I just asked because I'd be interested hearing if anybody had any info on Locadia and his role this season.
My current strike force is a 6.5 (not decided who yet) and a 6 (currently DCL), I'm rapidly losing faith in the Everton attack so will likely need a replacement for DCL, especially if Everton sign a striker. Locadia caught my eye today so curious if he will be an option this season, for 5.5 he doesn't need to do much, playing every week would be a great start!

Well, I switched a few things about and now have Long and Greenwood on my bench, my starter is above 6.5 so not relevant. I'd like to get BB out the way as I wasted it last season, I'd prefer Greenwood played in GW1. It's unlikely I know. I believe he's the only 4.5 that could play or start?

I like Long but don't like the fixtures or the competition from Ings and Adams.
Greenwood is the standout 4.5m striker, he'll get a lot of minutes this year, he's an exceptionally talented youngster and I think OGS is set on giving the younger players a chance.
I may be best scrapping the DCL spot and having just one striker and going 4-5-1 or 5-4-1, I suppose the 5.5m-6m strikers won't beat the 5.5m-6m defenders.

Re: Budget stikers (4.5-6.5)
Wilson. But changing to Vardy is an option - I have Long and Ryan on the bench currently due to thinking about BB on GW1. Long might be pointless for that however in hindsight. Long has ok pre-season form, so an off the bench option at least.Gambit wrote: ↑27 Jul 2019, 19:57who is your one striker, Wilson/Vardy/Kane?FootballFanatic wrote: ↑27 Jul 2019, 19:53Forgot about Adams.
