Matt Doherty is set to miss the start of Wolves' Europa League campaign, he's sidelined for at least 3 weeks with a knee injury.

LIVERPOOL
First-half team: Mignolet, Clyne, Phillips, Gomez, Larouci, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lallana, Kent, Wilson, Brewster.
Second-half team: Jaros, Hoever, Matip, Johnston, Lewis, Fabinho, Jones, Woodburn, Duncan, Glatzel, Origi.
Additional substitute: Atherton.

Liverpool will welcome four more senior players back to Melwood on Saturday morning to begin pre-season training.

Jordan Henderson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Georginio Wijnaldum and Virgil van Dijk are all set to report for testing following the summer break, having been afforded extended time off due to international commitments.
The Reds began preparations for 2019-20 last Saturday morning, with 16 players reconvening at the club’s training base.
They’ve since been joined by Divock Origi, Xherdan Shaqiri, Dejan Lovren, Naby Keita and Simon Mignolet.

Note Shaqiri injured and new young Dutch CB Sepp van der Berg not got international clearance in time to play today. Lovren only joined up yesterday. Not sure when Keita joined up but presumably not ready yet either. Mignolet only returned today but plays as only senior keeper!

6 minutes - Goal! Nathaniel Clyne!
The Reds are in front. Clyne is left in acres of space by the Tranmere defence. Brewster sees him and plays a low ball across the area into the direction of the full-back, who takes a touch and slams into the top corner.

Isn't Keita at AfCoN?

One is, but I'm not sure if him tbh.

Has Klopp given any hints re Firmino and the AvOn bods and their return to XI for the start of the season?

I thought he was and he wasn't mentioned when he came back unlike the others but it was on the LFC site as copied. He did get a knock at the ACN so maybe he is just back for treatment?

Firmino only finished Copa America last week so I'd guess at least 3 more weeks off. Don't need him though when we have Rhian Brewster....... as long as we only play Tranmere every week.

38Goal! Rhian Brewster!
The Reds have doubled their lead here - and Brewster has the goal he's been desperate for.
Milner's low cross from the left evades everyone in the middle of the area, but Wilson collects on the far side. His ball back in takes a deflection and loops into the six-yard box, where Brewster plants a header into the back of the net.
2-0 now to the European champions

45 Goal! Rhian Brewster!
The striker has his second. Davies stops a Milner strike, but he can't keep hold and Brewster pounces to turn the loose ball over the line.

Whole new team at HT as noted above

53 Goal! Curtis Jones!
Liverpool add to their tally as Woodburn sweeps a cross towards the back post, where Jones taps in from close range.

60 Goal! Divock Origi!
Origi picks up where he left off last season by claiming Liverpool's fifth goal of the night.
Matip plays a ball over the top into the path of his run, where he controls a ball over the shoulder with a wonderful first touch before nudging it around Davies and drilling into the empty net.

re knock: I have been half watching matches and they were going on about Keita having a knock, but a Keita played yesterday for a lot that won, same as Mane's.

I'm far from convinced your lot's front 3 will be playing in August, and there is the World Club thang many miles away too? Origi could be a TFF punt with the 40Xfers?

Origi signed new contract today and has 2nd half armband so in favour. Mane still at ACN but Salah and Firmino should start season I reckon.

67 Goal! Bobby Duncan!
Duncan is on the mark as he coverts from close-range after Glatzel was challenged inside the box.
It owes much to the sterling work of Hoever down the right to create the opening.
6-0 now to the Reds at Prenton Park

Keita story - but complicated so best to read it

Wrong country!

Liverpool won 6-0 in end. 3rd keeper Atherton had to come on (presumably outfield) as Glatzel got injured.

Shaqiri and the Ox as interesting early season possible starters. Mane must be due a rest at the very least.

Shaqiri currently injured so won't have much of a pre-season if even fit by day 1.

Looking forward to the "Christensen subbed off on 58 mins" updates in the rounded keeper this year.

Dejan Lovren starts for Liverpool against Bradford City this afternoon, with Jürgen Klopp planning to field two different outfield teams in each half at Valley Parade.

Lovren makes his first appearance of the summer in a starting XI otherwise unchanged from Thursday’s 6-0 win at Tranmere Rovers.
Joe Gomez therefore moves into the second-half line-up, which also includes Liam Millar in place of the injured Paul Glatzel [young Jaros also out injured].

Simon Mignolet will play the full 90 minutes in goal.

First-half team: Mignolet, Clyne, Phillips, Lovren, Larouci, Milner, Lallana, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Wilson, Kent, Brewster.
Second-half team: Mignolet, Hoever, Matip, Gomez, Lewis, Fabinho, Woodburn, Jones, Duncan, Origi, Millar.
Additional substitutes: Atherton, Johnston.

14mins 1-0 Liverpool's pressure pays dividends, with Milner's shot from distance deflecting off Vaughan and past O'Donnell.

16mins 2-0 Liverpool double their advantage rapidly, with Milner slottting in a penalty with typical assurance after Ryan Kent had been fouled in the area.

41mins 3-0 A swift counter-attack by Liverpool ends with Brewster's third goal of pre-season. Oxlade-Chamberlain frees Kent down the left and the forward cuts back inside before setting up the No.15 on the edge of the box. His low shot is partially blocked, but Brewster is quick to react and somehow squeezes the ball past O'Donnell from the tightest of angles.

Half time.
EDIT Ended 3-1 with an 80th minute Bradford penalty. Atherton came on (in goal this time) for Mignolet in 81st minute.

Im aware of that now, but at the time i posted that, he was not showing up on the skysports app in the the team line up or on the bench.
Rudiger was though and he did not play at all, which i presume is down the the fact he injured and not meant to be back for another couple of months.

Gotcha. Well the second CB will be Christensen or Zouma so still a great shout for the money. Chelsea assets should have a ton of value this season once we know the lineup and formation. I suspect Barkley and or Giroud could be bargain of the season. Emerson also if he gets the nod ahead of Alonso

I didnt even think of Zouma, i hope he goes back to Everton 🤞🏻

Im hoping Willian has a starting place as there only him and Christensen ive gone for so far to begin the season.

Upfront is anyone guess as all 3 of them could start between bats/tammy and giroud.

I think Mount could do well this season as lampard really likes him
