Abandon BB this week?
Hey guys,
Thought I’d start this as I am certain a few of us are in the same position.
After a terrible week and 3 players now flagged with 0.0 cash itb. I am tempted to abandon BB this week and go TC instead, unless there is a major injury over the European games that means I have to take someone out which would free up a load of cash.
Anyone else thinking the same?

Re: Abandon BB this week?
I definitely am. I’m going to Triple Captain now instead and just punt my Bench Boost in GW36.
I don’t have any flagged players fortunately, but I do have 3 Brighton defenders. You surely can’t expect more than 1 point per game for each, so that’s essentially 6. A Triple Captain for example literally just needs to score a goal to match that output, then anything else they do is a bonus.
Next season I’m pretty sure I’m just going to Bench Boost in GW1 so that I don’t have to think about it any more. It’s not actually that valuable a chip and it just causes far too much tunnel vision when you save it this late in the season.

100% agree!! I have Duffy & Ryan so it’s pointless using BB this week as they are awful and going down.
Only question now is who to triple? It’s either Son, Lucas Moura, Jimenez or Aubameyang. Can make a case for them all but the only one guaranteed to play both matches is Jimenez so leaning towards him.

Depending on his minutes tonight, I'm tempted to go for Aguero.johnjoe107 wrote: ↑17 Apr 2019, 08:49 100% agree!! I have Duffy & Ryan so it’s pointless using BB this week as they are awful and going down.

Arguably most important games in City's season, I'd be surprised if he doesn't start both. Or at the very least, feature heavily in both.

Re: Abandon BB this week?
Currently tinkering around.
The problem I have is I don’t think my BB will look any better than this GW. And TC on Salah in 36 seems a solid choice. I do think TC will give me the best score this week, it’s just whether I think I can make good gains using BB in another week.

Re: Abandon BB this week?
Agree with this. Still got to play those Brighton players in a BB at some point (I’m not wasting transfers removing them as there are better gains elsewhere in my opinion) though their gw 36 is Newcastle at home, which is about their best game left. Think I may just push on with the plan to BB and use TC in 36 for a Liverpool player as that is the standout game remaining (accepting that neither is optimal!)

Re: Abandon BB this week?
City have got Spurs & Utd and I don’t think Aguero will play both games and even if he does he’ll more than likely be subbed between 60-70mins. That’s not to say I won’t consider him, going to see how he looks tonight as he looked really of the pace against Palace.Bixer wrote:Depending on his minutes tonight, I'm tempted to go for Aguero.johnjoe107 wrote: ↑17 Apr 2019, 08:49 100% agree!! Re: Abandon BB this week?
It's a thought. What about abandoning BB for GW35, with no TC option (already used it) and using BB in GW36
instead when Brighton are home to Newcastle? I have the glorious trio of Ryan, Dunk and Duffy

Re: Abandon BB this week?
I'm quite partial to this idea
I had planned to BB GW35 but I have Deeney plus Ryan/Duffy/Valery so it has issues that would cost points to fix. I also have my TC which was probably going to go on Mane GW36.
However my full 15 could do ok GW36 and Jimenez could take the TC this week.
hmmm...

Re: Abandon BB this week?
I think for me it now comes down to a question of whether I spend points (-4/-8 this week) followed by -4 to get Salah back in the week after. And BB this week or use TC and probably end up banking the transfer this week and spending -4 next.
I could do with some news regarding Deolefeu and Valery tbh.

Re: Abandon BB this week?
im torn on this ........i would have to do vardy/eriksen to sterling/rashford then TC Sterling
then build to bb in gw37 or 38 which is a lottery anyway
but it means i dont have to play those brighton loons or camarasa against liverpool

Re: Abandon BB this week?
I’ve gone full circle with this tbh. I think I am going to end up BBing this week. It’s the best week to do it. Valery is no longer flagged and I can make the Deeney transfer.
Also tempted to bring in Foster for Gunn for a -4 and take a risk with Deolefeu hopefully getting a haul, but not decided yet.

Re: Abandon BB this week?
Think you and I might have identical benches in that regard. I'm leaning towards it as I can transfer out Duffy/Dunk for someone like Valery, so that in GW36 my bench would essentially be;
Newcastle (H), Newcastle (H), Bournemouth (H), Fulham (A)
As opposed to this week, where it's currently;
Wolves/Spurs (A, A), Wolves/Spurs (A, A), Wolves/Spurs (A, A), Liverpool H
Double gameweek or not, that first option looks much more appealing for a Bench Boost.

Re: Abandon BB this week?
Pretty much yes ......I might even be able to upgrade to decent 5th midfielder by then ......it’s just the doubt of sterling playingBixer wrote: ↑18 Apr 2019, 16:28Think you and I might have identical benches in that regard. Re: Abandon BB this week?
Why is there a doubt of Sterling playing? He is the in form player right now and these are 2 massive games. If he doesn’t play then serious questions will be asked I think.

Re: Abandon BB this week?
Hmmm...until now I was sod it, I planned BB this week, just go for it. But it's actually Deeney's suspension just as much as BHA being poop that it now swaying me. If I do BB I'll have to replace Deeney and omly realistic options are Lacazette or Firmino. Not massively sold on either given potential rotation for rest of season, and think I'd just as soon keep Deeney. Thinking now just roll transfer and bench Deeney this week. I'll have 11 not including 3 BHA. Duffy can step in if needed. Any BHA left BB v Newcastle.

Just watching the Wolves Brighton game. How on earth have Wolves not scored!! Anyway back to the thread title, it will be a disaster if Brighton keep a clean sheet here. Stuff of nightmares especially if you made Jimenez(tc)!!

Re: Abandon BB this week?
Ended up BBing. 9 points from my bench at the moment. And my capt only got 2 points so I’m +5 right now (then again I spent 4 points getting foster in for Gunn so I’m really +1 )
