TFF chit chat 16th and 17th March
SATURDAY 16TH MARCH
Watford12:15Crystal Palace FA CUP
The first match of the weekend is an FA Cup clash between two Premier League sides. Watford are the home team and are sat in upper mid table safety so would be wise to give the Cup a good go this season. Palace are only 5 points clear of the relegation zone so who knows what team they are likely to field.
Bournemouth 15:00 Newcastle PREM
All the 3pm matches are in the Premier League, the first of which features the Cherries versus the Magpies. The two teams are separated by just 3 points so a win today for Newcastle will put them neck-and-neck with Bournemouth. Rondon and Perez combined well last weekend. The Dad's Army combo of Wilson and Fraser also came up trumps.
Burnley 15:00 Leicester PREM
Burnley are on a poor run of results and the visit of Leicester might come at the wrong time as they are still seeing the positive effects of a new manager bounce and Vardy has been in fine form of late. Burnley will be hoping to turn Turf Moor into a fortress once more.
West Ham15:00 Huddersfield PREM
The Ammers v Uddersfield next. West Ham lost away to Cardiff last weekend so will be hoping to bounce back from that defeat today. Uddersfield are as good as down but the players will be looking to impress the new manager as he plans for life in the Championship.
Swansea 17:20 Man City FA CUP
The last two Saturday games are both Cup ties. First up it's the original Welsh Wizards from Wales up against a Manchester City side who scored 7 in the Champion's League in midweek. Will Pep rest his big guns or see this as an opportunity to try for a League and Cup double?
Wolves 19:55 Man Utd FA CUP
The late, late match sees two Premier League teams in action. Wolves have been a revelation this season and will surely treat the FA Cup with the respect it deserves. Jimenez (pronounced Himenez) has been in and around the goals (pronounced goals) of late. OGS is another manager who will more than likely field a strong side.
SUNDAY 17TH MARCH
Millwall 14:00 Brighton FA CUP
The first of the three Sunday games is a Cup match between Millwall of the Championship and the Prem's Brighton. Millwall have slipped into relegation trouble since the turn of the year and you would expect Brighton to be too strong for them. Will this mean lots of squad rotation though?
Fulham 14:15 Liverpool PREM
Fifteen minutes later sees the first of Sunday's two Prem fixtures kick off. Fulham are at home and are being cut adrift at the foot of the table. Liverpool will see today as an opportunity to get back to the top of the table. Mane has been in good form recently.
Everton 16:30 Chelsea PREM
And finally , Everton against Chelsea. Everton have little to play for this season whereas Chelsea will be looking for a chance to climb the table whilst their rivals are otherwise entertained. A good result in the Europa League for the Blues and based on that performance will Giroud start?

4 teams with no game including Spurs and Arsenal. Good time for a JBO from your Norf Larnden boozer to Sarfend.
Also Southampton (jolly boat trip instead?) And Cardiff (watching unimportant egg chasing)

Re: TFF chit chat 16th and 17th March
Note 12:15 kick off (not usual 12:30)
Javi Gracia makes eight changes to the side which were beaten at the Etihad last weekend with Kiko Femenia, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Etienne Capoue the only players to retain their starting berths. Attacking quartet Roberto Pereyra, Gerard Deulofeu, Will Hughes and skipper Troy Deeney all return.
Watford XI: Gomes, Femenia, Mariappa, Cathcart, Holebos, Hughes, Doucoure, Capoue, Pereya, Deulofeu, Deeney.
Subs: Dahlberg, Kabasele, Janmaat, Masina, Cleverley, Success, Gray
Roy Hodgson makes three changes to the side which lost to Brighton last Saturday, as Martin Kelly, Cheikhou Kouyate and Max Meyer all come into the starting XI. Scott Dann, Patrick van Aanholt and Wilfried Zaha miss out completely.
Crystal Palace XI: Guaita, Wan-Bissaka, Kelly, Tomkins, Schlupp, Milivojevic, Kouyate, Meyer, McArthur, Townsend, Batshuayi.
Subs: Hennessey, Ward, Woods, Riedewald, Wickham, Benteke, Ayew.
(note - fit again Hennessey only on bench)

Might be 2nd KC for whoever flicked it on.brencarr wrote:GOAL (Watford) Etienne Capoue - Assisted by Craig Cathcart .... from TFF Live
No KC on Batshooey(sp) equaliser
PS probably not in this case but in later games there could be extra time and penalties that overlap to the next flange - so with a carefully timed transfer or 5 you could have up to 16 players playing at the same time!

Some league games are happening. Don't look WHam fans.
Meanwhile back in Cupland, Sterling and Aguero are benched. Laporte starts.
Lets just pretend today isn't happening.

If nothing else, it means we’ll very likely see Aguero and Sterling.

Laporte needs to calm down or he will be seeing red. Looking forward to watching this second half. Swansea are worth their lead

So...what is that? A pen miss for Aguero cancelled by an assist on the OG? I never seen that before.

From Ts & Cs "no KC is given ...... to the penalty taker when penalties are saved or come back off the woodwork before a goal is scored"
