Ross Barkley - The start of something good?

Post by Jamjack »

I’m going to try mix things up in a few of my teams tomorrow and Barkley has made it on to the radar.

In the last handful of games he has hinted at becoming the player he was be whilst at Everton but I’m basising that view on MOTD highlights and points scored last 3 games. I’d love to know the views of others who have a bit more to go on. I don’t even have a very good handle on how likely he is to hold down his place? Anyone else thinking about him?

Something tells you you're into something good?

Brought him in FPL land, but no bench\subs here so a bit scary....

Herman’s Hermits will be of little help to me unless they happen to be big Chelsea fans and still with us.

£3.5m.... It would be most unlike me to get on a differential this early and I appreciate there has to be every chance his bum will be collecting splinters on the bench again before too long. Is there a case to be made though....?

As above, the start is the issue hence I did Maddi to Ross in FPL as there are subs....

Here the cameos aren't such a pain as there, so that evens it out?

Who are you looking to dump for him?

I have Maddison (who is not doing much point wise the last 2 weeks) and 0.6m spare so this is tempting. He's certainly making things happen at the moment, but is it just a flash in the pan?

It’s an ambitious plan to raise some funds to bring back Eden (in due course) and Mendy. In a couple of teams Kane will be the sacrifice to strengthen 2 or 3 others. It’s a big call...

You may have missed the boat re Kane? In another 3 matches his fixtures look rather tasty, and the CL matches may be over?

Maddi out here too. I would go Laporte in a 5-3-2, but Lac to Eden\Kun is still in my mind, and 5-4-1 isn't a valid formation

Which I find very odd. And frustrating this season.

My rule with strikers is if they are scoring then don’t get rid so both Lac and Kane stay for now. Only got 3 mids so can’t swap maddi for anything other than another one.

I watched Barkley a bit in a couple of games and whilst, pointswise / statswise, he was doing well he just doesn't look that good to me (ie not Chelsea standard) so I wouldn't expect him to become a regular.

Ok. This gives me something solid to console myself with if I step back from the ledge and do nowt today. If he bags a hatrick today I have someone to blame now! That’s all I needed

Reads like a reason to dump Maddi for him, also murf could be double bluffing? Or is it just bluffing :?

I stayed clear based on murf’s input. Thanks murf, dodged a bullet there I think.
