TFF chit chat 5th, 6th and 7th October
FRIDAY 5TH OCTOBER
Brighton 20:00 West Ham
That rare beast, a Friday Night Fixture, rears its head again this week, this time featuring Brighton against West Ham. Brighton didn't start with Murray last time out - the shape of things to come or simply tactical? West Ham, after a poor start to the season, are now rocketing up the table. Arnautovic is in fine form at the moment.
SATURDAY 6TH OCTOBER
Burnley 15:00 Huddersfield
No early fixture so straight to the 3 o'clocks - the first sees Uddersfield going to Fortress Turf Moor, probably not the best destination when you're severely lacking in the goalscoring department. Burnley are another team who had a shaky start to the season but appear to have now got their act together now. The Terriers are already earmarked for relegation.
Crystal Palace 15:00 Wolves
Premier League new boys Wolves travel down to Suburbia to take on Crystal Palace. Palace lost to a late Bournemouth penalty last time out but will be hoping for better at home today. Wolves are looking very comfortable in the top league and appear to be a fairly balanced team. Zaha's your talisman in this one.
Leicester 15:00 Everton
Once it was Vardy and Mahrez now it's Vardy and Maddison. Leicester appear to have discovered a new pairing up top. Everton are very unpredictable of late, with Siggy finally turning up last weekend but Richarlison has been variable since his return. Enigmatic Walcott scored in the Carabao Milk Rumbelows League Coca Cola Cup in midweek.
Tottenham 15:00 Cardiff
Harry Kane has rediscovered his blowing the doors off powers in recent weeks which is good as Spurs appear to have a few injury problems and are coming off of a Messi defeat in midweek. The Welsh Wizards from Wales are trying hard but have yet to settle in the Prem - is it down to style of play or personnel?
Watford 15:00 Bournemouth
After their early season surge up the table, Watford have tailed off a bit in recent weeks and Troy 'Broken Toes' Deeney continues to play through the pain barrier. Sean Dyche's Bournemouth actually lie equal on points with the Hornets and have spread the goals around the team in recent weeks. Expect this to be quite an even match.
Man Utd 17:30 Newcastle
Saturday's late match has Newcastle visiting Manchester United. Two under pressure, once great managers face up to each other with neither team in a particularly fine vein of form. Jose has been rotating his players to no avail and Rafa is doing the best he can with the resources available. Or is it the other way around?
SUNDAY 7TH OCTOBER
Fulham 12:00 Arsenal
You are having a giraffe - Sunday's early game is a London derby. South versus North where only the better team will come away with the spoils. Fulham are new to the league and are closer to the relegation zone than the top of the table. After their relatively poor start, Arsenal's recent results have catapulted them into the top 5.
Southampton 14:15 Chelsea
Sunday's middling match has high-flying Chelsea going to Deepest Darkest Hampshire to take on Southampton. The Saints are another team struggling near the foot of the table though might be bouyed by their midweek win, whereas Chelsea are towards the top of the League. Hazard is the in-form player in the Prem, does his ownership make it a 10-man game yet.
Liverpool 16:30 Man City
And finally, it's the weekend's biggest match - a top two clash between Liverpool and Manchester City. Aguero started in the Champions League and scored and Sane is now back in the team. Salah is yet to discover his form of last season but Liverpool have quality throughout the side. An early season title decider?

There's going to be a follow up series called Eddie Howe's Burnley, where Eddie visits Cliviger Fish Ponds, Gawthorpe Hall and ends up in the Weavers' Triangle

Everton boss Marco Silva makes one change to the side that beat Fulham in the Premier League at Goodison Park last Saturday. Summer signing Bernard makes his first Premier League start with Dominic Calvert-Lewin dropping to the bench. That will see Richarlison deployed further forward in a central striking positon.

Did double up with King and Wilson on one of my best teams. Seem among the best value lower cost strikers in the game

That great escape by Manchester United leaves the waters a little murkier than they appeared at half time.
Not a good day to have Luke Shaw in a load of teams seeing as he yellow carded as well as conceding two.

Ozil not even on bench (back spasm). Not many have him but a negative differential if you do...

Aubameyang was my 100%er at the start of the season. Finally lost patience at half time when I saw he wasn't even playing. I guess it's a nice leaving present but I still might live to regret it.

Same for me. Decided last week this would be his final game for me today. I nearly bottled replacing him with Hazard. Just had to hold my breath and do it. Can always bring him back in for the Leicester game.jjmatadormc wrote: ↑07 Oct 2018, 14:40 Aubameyang was my 100%er at the start of the season. Was always sensible to remove him with Kane, Aguero, Hazard all finding some form plus cheaper options. Even Lacazette was a better Arsenal bet.
