De Gea - stick or twist?
I thought De Gea would be a safe pick. Mourinho's boring style of play usually leads to plenty of clean sheets for his teams but now his hinges have become well and truly detached the clean sheets have dried up. Allison or Moraes seem the obvious replacements. Or should I hold in the hope that United tighten up at the back and the clean sheets return?

I'm looking at going cheaper and using money elsewhere. Have Shaw if United start getting clean sheet points.

Re: De Gea - stick or twist?
Letting in 3 against West Ham has pretty much made up my mind to get rid. Hart looks like an option out of the cheapies - especially as I already have Van Aanholt which means Hennessey is less attractive to me.

I've had enough of him. He's out.

I was thinking Foster before but now looking at Hart with the assumption that Burnley's form will be better now they aren't thinking about Europe.

If they sack Mourinho tonight he could be worth keeping.

Played it safe with Ederson to cover City clean sheets now I have just got rid of Mendy as well.

Was thinking the same thing (De Gea not Jose!). Got enough Liverpool 'coverage' and have sold some Mendys lately so it is pointing to Ederson.

Re: De Gea - stick or twist?
I was going to move him to Ederson today.
As I was busy I did it at 1245 when I saw West ham had already scored in 5 minutes, and I was pissed with de gea wasting me a transfer and giving me few points so far... Glad to have city defence.

"Don't tinker your keeper" they say and also "a transfer is worth 10 points".
Well, like Snow White, I'm 7 up so far and I'm confident of a few more.

Re: De Gea - stick or twist?
The think with de Gea was that he made a shit load of saves last season ie the MU defence was all a bit Princess Di, and unlikely to be repeatable.

Re: De Gea - stick or twist?
I agree 100% with murf. I don't plan to switch my keeper again unless Ederson gets injured. Not really a tinker imo, De Gea had 7 games to get the 28 pts I expected. He got 13 so he had to go. I think Jose will survive this week and De Gea will continue to let in goals as none of the guys in front of him have any confidence.

Re: De Gea - stick or twist?
I chucked him yesterday for Ederson as well.
(except for in my block team of course)

Re: De Gea - stick or twist?
Hart now or give De Gea two more (next time he plays early)?
Hennessey also an option.
EDIT: I did nothing and leaning towards that for this weekend now.

Re: De Gea - stick or twist?
I sat on my hands in the end - Hennessey not on my radar as I already have Van Aanholt so don't want to double up. Thought I'd give De Gea another shot at Newcastle - not keen on changing the keeper at this stage of the season unless it's unavoidable.

Re: De Gea - stick or twist?
A change feels inevitable ATM, just whether I go cheap or go premium. I notice that Utd play earlier in two and four games time so will probably give it those four games and will be quite happy to see things turn around so I don't have to do anything.

Re: De Gea - stick or twist?
If a 4m defender was scoring less than 2 pts a game for 2 months most people would have got rid by now. It was a no brainer after the West Ham game to me.

Well my initial strategy for replacing De Gea wouldn't have done very well this week...

Keeping de gea is the sunk cost fallacy in full effect.
The Sunk Cost Fallacy. The Misconception: You make rational decisions based on the future value of objects, investments and experiences. The Truth: Your decisions are tainted by the emotional investments you accumulate, and the more you invest in something the harder it becomes to abandon it.

Re: De Gea - stick or twist?
The Sunk Cost Fallacy - is the latest in the Bourne film series? I think the thing that is holding me back is that I've already used 8 transfers and I'm still flailing around quite badly. Maybe that's because I'm not getting rid of under-performing players quick enough!ChrisMBV wrote: ↑01 Oct 2018, 22:17 Keeping de gea is the sunk cost fallacy in full effect.
