I am bemoaning the inconsistency of approach.

Have you ever seen this before? At any level?

Linekar never got booked, it must have been partly because he is just a really nice bloke.

Snow warning for Arsenal v Man City tonight:

Arsenal want volunteers to help shovel snow this morning....if they can get enough brought onto the pitch, they might get tonight's game postponed.

(Shamelessly stolen from elsewhere)

May be cancelled apparently. BBC reports that they are currently speaking to The Met and will announce their decision in the next few hours.

bad week so far... on 0 points.

Had Mawson, Naughton, Vertonghen, Eriksen and Kane in my team but they didn't pay off so now hoping points from KDB, Sterling and Aguero tonight.

The only good news is that I put Son in my golden boot team.

I’ve been struggling to find an updated re Sterling and Jones injurys but from the little I have been able to find (Manchester News) Sterling looks like missing tonight (assuming he game is on) and back for Sunday. I’ve found the square route of nothing for Jones

I've been looking too and I am proud to be able to bring to everyone the news that, yep, you're about right!

+1 to the first bit. Staggers are ok (Aldo was the master) but Son stopped dead. Yellow only a tad harsh.
Actually the rules changed a few years ago.
Previously any hesitation in the run up was disallowed
Just as the goalkeeper moving rule was also changed

Definitely unsportsmanlike as the other players didn't know how soon to encroach into the box and looked really silly being almost level with Son! Encroachment while a penalty is taken of course is a law that is almost always broken, but almost always totally ignored by the officials.

Some were ahead of him. Not sure if the attackers ahead of the ball were offside as the defenders were back there too.

Half expected Son to whip his mobile out and check his facebook page before taking a selfie as he shot.

Will actually be interesting to see whether in a VAR game they will insist on penalties being retaken if there is any encroachment at all - i.e. checking for a toe encroaching in the same way they are applying the offside rule. I hope they will otherwise it makes a mockery of the otherwise perfect system we have seen in place so far

Well they should do really, but again it's something refs should be picking up anyway.

It depends on if it's a hard or soft Brexit.

:D Feeling a Sterling to Sane if he's going to be out for a while.

Taken from yesterday's press conference: Sterling is “much, much better”. A decision will be made closer to kick-off. “I don’t know if he can play tomorrow but hopefully Chelsea or Basel.”

Suggests not far. From memory though Man City have a quiet March on the domestic front if you were looking at transfers..
