Yeah, would be great to see him or Steve Davis qualify again before they hang up their cues for good... along with darts and golf it's one of the few sports where the over 50's can still compete on their day, and I think they're the only two still active from the "golden age" of the sport as far as I can remember. Could have taken Michael White as a proxy... snooker seems to produce a peculiar amount of unrelated namesakes. Numerous Davises, Alex/John Higgins, Kirk/Matthew Stevens etc...
