New forum name?
Suggestions on a new name for this particular forum? Or keep it as it is?

I thought you were talking about FISO itself for a moment, a 20th birthday rebrand

Re: New forum name?
Is there a reason for a change?
I'm middle aged (maybe more, when does middle age end?) so I react negatively to change!
I've always liked Fizzo, but I know some people like Feeso.
Edit - Oh, just this forum? Ignore me I'm old

this is my fault ... from another thread ...

Wouldn't a better title be warranted - "FPL Team Questions (e.g. RMTs/Transfers/Captaincies)" doesn't really describe it. The more active posters in that forum would be able to come up with something better than me so I won't try but I do think it probably needs to be more reflective of it's content. (ditto Description)

Re: New forum name?
A couple of things we do/don’t need
The transfers and captaincies as weekly themes are properly catered for in the main thread so they can be removed from the title
The volume of individual threads has reduced in the last couple of years but they are a key factor
I guess the key questions are:
Work out if we all value a core set of the same things in these parts; and if a name change is required then base it on those?
What would we be keen to encourage more of in this sub-forum?
As the start of a list, things I observe here:
1. Individual RMTs
2. Individual commentaries/blogs/thought spaces
3. Analysis
4. Data
Sometimes 3&4 are the same thing, others times they aren’t. They’re also linked to (5), in my opinion the most important mainstay of this area of the Forum
5. STC. The now open nature of what was once Sammy’s thread is helpful as it is inclusive; and is as good and lively as whoever happens to be taking on the unsung role of moderating discussion (as in facilitating it rather than formal Mod duties). Whilst key contributors hang up their FPL boots every now and again, others keep coming up with superb information and analysis.
6. Style: As compared to the fast paced nature of other sources of info (e.g. Twitter) this is a gentler paced space that allows for longer conversation and discussion. It’s unlike anything else that I have found and is why I am here!

The stats are dark and full of errors.
Re: New forum name?
I agree that transfers and captaincies don't need to form part of the forum title, it would be good to keep it a bit snappier. The RMT aspect needs to be a crucial (and obvious) part of the forum name as pre-season especially a lot of threads have to be moved out of the main FPL forum. I also like the idea of encouraging more of the hosted style threads which are very unique to FISO.
There are several long running and well considered threads in the sub forum and the term "blog" doesn't really describe it to me as I tend to think of a blog being distinct posts on different related issues (with comment threads on each). I quite like the noun "story" (following on from Instagram and Snapchat I suppose), where it's more like a running commentary on the life of an FPL team, sometimes over multiple seasons.
So my suggestion would be something like "FPL Team Stories & RMTs".

Re: New forum name?
Lighten up and note the . As noted forestfan and myself thought "FISO" was being renamed - as in THE FORUM so 'came by' to investigate that potentially big news. Turns out this is just a badly named thread within a subforum.

And after coming by, you could not resist having a sly dig, didn't you?
