Which places Martin in the ‘don’t touch’ pile too. I don’t therefore think that the WHam double is a goer for me, the keeper was the only one I had interest in

Agreed. I did wonder about a punt on Antonio a few weeks ago but he too is injured. Anyway, I seem to now have more pressing issues, not the least whether to go Jiminez to Ings as first planned and gamble on Rashford's fitness or whether to look at Rashford to Jiminez. I think I will probably do the first - I wasn't expecting much out of Rashford this week anyway ;)

Presumably your second option is Rashford to Ings?
Yes, after GW23 I’d prefer Rashford for the next few

Yes, I decided to stick with Rashford and went Jiminez to Ings. Sadly, the price rise didn't happen last night (and having missed one rise this week, I didn't want to miss another - my team value is nothing to write home about).

Captain failed and Jiminez to Ings was a masterstroke.
I've already done Rashford to Aguero to catch the price rise (money being tight).
Second transfer (for a hit) will be one of Soyu, Evans or Targett for a hit. Although I've had Soyu for a while, I think that Evans is worth the premium, so it then becomes Soyu or Targett. Need someone who can play the next 2 games but will then probably maybe keep the bench warm for a bit. At the moment, I'm slightly moving towards Targett (which puts a little bit of money in the bank), but will watch Leicester with interest today.

They're not great (although I'm sure they are awful). Hopefully he'll be bench fodder after the next couple. I'm half looking at rejigging my defence anyway in the next few weeks.

Stephens or Benadrek for the same price and much better fixtures.

I've already got McCarthy given the fixtures, but don't trust Saints defence enough to double-up on them.

But their fixtures turn fairly quickly and their run from GW27 is not nice.
Cahill (CPL) or O'Connell (SHU) would probably top my list of eventual replacements (but I'm not looking to immediately bring someone in), as I said Targett could probably cover the next two and getting rid of Soyu reduces my Leicester exposure for GW28.

If it is a City v Leicester final, I currently have 5 players from those two teams plus some bench fodder - dodgy doesn't even begin to describe it!

2 pts from 3 Leicester players today.

Why do I do this to myself?

 Transfers Rashford to Aguero and Targett to VVD for -4. Aguero and Ings both benched which is encouraging.

Followed my gut a la blah and captained TAA.

No TC - whilst Liverpool will score well the fact that both games are away swung it for me. Given my rank, I could do with an absolute monster TC and I just don't see it coming this week. If I had been top 50k, I would probably have played it this week though.

TAA(C) and VVD ensure that if Liverpool do cs twice and TAA haul, I do well against the masses. Also need to hope that Salah (who has much lower ownership) outscores Mane.

What could possibly go wrong?

I'd probably go (1) Laporte; (2) Otamendi; (3) Mendy. Given Laporte's had a long injury will Pep manage his game time when CL comes round?

It's been a long time since my last entry but my rank is still somewhere south of one million so there is a lot of work to be done. I did post an earlier team on one of the general threads, but this is what I am almost settled on:

McCarthy Henderson
Alexander-Arnold Laporte Egan Doherty Targett
De Bruyne Grealish Fernandes Sterling Douglas Luiz
Nketiah Jiménez Vardy

I am BBing this week but not planning to WC for a couple or three weeks, so I have picked a team for the next 4 GWs rather than just the one.
Next week, Sterling and Laporte will become Salah and a cheaper defender (not sure who at the moment but possibly Boly/Lascalles/Leicester).

I'm somewhat surprised to have three Aston Villa players but Targett is probably a decent D5 and Luiz will be OK for M5. I'd originally had Fleck in that spot but rumours that he won't play tonight plus the extra 0.5m was very useful.

Nketiah is a bit of a punt, but at his price is he does play regularly he opens up lots of other possibilities.
