Standard has slipped a bit this year. I was only 2nd last year in 263rd overall (to binky's excellent 6th).

At least it is closer at the top. Just 1 point in it at the top and 11 points in it for the more important 3rd place.

I hang my head folks

Firstly can I thank you all for continuing along without any support whatsoever from me this season. As you can guess I have probably hit the point of no return with TFF which saddens my somewhat as it was a massive part of my life for a good decade. I'm sure most of my teams this season still have almost twenty transfer left, although I did have a short lived return of sorts in the Eggcup.

I remember the days when I couldn't understand why folk dropped out of the leagues with the reason "I don't have the time". I can now sympathise as I haven't had the time (moreover the inclination) to look at my teams. Sad.

Regards the most important thing to those in the running... the sweeps. There were 17 folk in the sweep in the Premiership meaning a fund of £170 as there were no cup competitions this year:

First: £85.00
Second: £51.00
Third: £34.00

I look forward to splashing the cash next week.

As you may have already guessed this will sadly be the last year of the DLA unless anyone else wishes to take over. I've run the DLA in some form or another for 15+ years and over this time have published fanzines, run a website, had forums (even prior to FISO) and have several lever arch files with every weekly league for over a decade! The DLA has been an important part of my life and God knows how many hours I've spent on it!

Thanks a million for being a part of it... it's been emotional :D

Cheers for all those hours.

It is a good friendly league and I am happy to set it up next year. Would be simple though. Just on FISO. Top 20 teams in standings this year who want to play on get in. Ok 19 teams + 1 in The Ledge's name to sit there all year with 30 transfers!

No prizes.

Cheers Ledge. You've been a gem and I'm only a relatively late arrival on the scene. Still hope you recover some TFF mojo in time.

I'd be happy to help admin at a simple level too as most of my efforts will probably go on the Tiny league, but this league's too good to go.

Thanks Ledge, an end to another FF era what a shame. I assume you won't be playing the Egg next season either?

As for life without the DLA, I will pass on it going forwards not sure what its attraction would be? It will in effect be like the Fiso X1 open League (except DLA is a private team) that I run without a prize, maybe they could be combined in some way?

I don't play the FISO XI Open league so don't know the rules but think I would be happy to play in a basic drunken/open combined league.

To me it just makes it that bit more interesting than throwing another team in the FISO league (as there is nowhere lese to put it).

The Fiso Sl was just an open league for people to experiment if they wanted with different ideas or just put in a normal team. You can take over that if you like with a new concept. There is a ready made trophy you keep for a year and get it engraved each year.

Thanks for the feedback folks. As the DLA has always been more than FISO I will be sending our an e-mail today and will offer everyone the chance to take it over although in it's current form although I can almost guarantee that no-one will as I don't get any banter whatsoever from the non-FISO brigade.

Personally I think the appeal of the DLA over the years has been the fact that we've traditionally had four leagues based on the set up in England 20-24-24-24 and for a couple of seasons we even had a Conference! Promotion and relegation was all a big part of it combined with 3 cup competitions most season - where did I find the time? I'd be delighted if someone would be happy to take it on even in a simple format and although I doubt I'll be in next season I may come back to the table one day.

hh - I doubt I'll be playing any TFF next season but I won't confirm myself as out just yet. I'll follow the normal protocol for the Eggcup and will let you know when you're organising the leagues.

Jester - apologies about my timing. I appreciate that reaching the holy grail of the DP was what you were put on this planet for. I didn't pull the rug from under you intentionally

Now off to compose that e-mail...

Well played Paul I think the title is yours. Not a great day for me and as I suspected, RVP came back to haunt me.

Very tight.

Nastasic V IVANOVIC 0-2
Walcott V CAZORLA 2-2
Townsend V HAZARD 1-0
Aguero V RVP 1- 7
Kone V NASRI 2-2

Any KCs?

Looks like that solitary goal for RVP was enough, must admit I wasn't that impressed when MU had scored 5!

Wait and see for confirmation in the morning before I formally accept your congratulations but thanks if it proves to be the case, very undeserved win to be honest.

Not sure exactly how this is going to run next year - but if you might be up for a solely FISO based Drunken League (maybe combined with the 'open' league) then make yourself known below, with team name(s) if you played this year.

1. murf, murf's drunken mob

I don't think it will be back. If anyone wants to reboot as a free bog standard league or whatever then I'll throw a team in.

Roger has packed it in. The game is finished. I also am looking for a league for 2 teams. Bit busy to organise it this year though.
