Very hectic, I'll start a lesson's learned log thread in a few days and we (I) can make a better job of it next year. 6 is not a disaster.

Good luck everyone and thanks for your patience. It's just great to look at the leaderboards for the mini league and see Fiso all over it :D

Sorry to those not included as much as they thought they should be, nothing personal honest.

A two week international break and we still managed to finish it at 11:59 on Monday :?

Anyway, thanks for organising Wilbert.

Sorry

Flight back from weekend in Dublin was a bit delayed due to fog, then Stansted Express back to London was anything but express :(
Home at 10pm with about a billion things to sort out, this completely missed my radar until 23:55. Then I see the flood of PMs and manage to scrape my top team into one further league before the door slammed shut.

I should have said on the thread that I was going to be away. When I first signed up my teams on here I forgot I'd be away. Only when Art messaged me on Thurs/Fri(?) last week did I realise the potential problem so I let him know, but this thread had gone a bit quiet and my teams had not been put on the spreadsheet at that point so I didn't think. My bad.

So sorry for any leagues I've left short - all the best to each league that did make it.

Is it possible to delete a team from a league with six in it? I presume not.
I've found 3 with six in. A couple were my fault - but I thought it better to risk six than be stuck with four.

Most of all can I echo the thanks to WilBert - it wouldn't have happened without your efforts. :D

They've deleted teams for me before but that was before the deadline. Once the deadline's passed I'd guess not :?

Glad you made it in the end reds. Not sure what happened to your teams on the spreadsheet first time I put them on :?

Thanks for the thanks, but the thanks go to all of you guys for getting there or this would have been a shambles, not going to single people out though.

This is how the table looks before our involvement. I'll update later. Some very good teams there from a sister site, so now we have extra incentive! Glad to see Mr Prosser's found a legit home (see league 37 chair) :)

Apologies for only managing to enter 2 leagues. I didn´t have time to read the thread properly and ran out of time when switching between viewing PMs and teams.

It is a bit surprising that a forum with about twenty five active members can have so many leagues. :?

Haha, how? Each team can go into 5 leagues. That throws up all manner of permutations.

Er'm no!

Suggest you divide the 625 by five for potential leagues.

I took a real interest in the mail last season and looked closely at how it would be worth my effort to have a real go at contending for the prizes, after my watching brief I've joined forces with like minded managers on the other forum and so far our efforts appear to have paid off, a long way to go but myself and a handful of other managers are in great positions to win a few prizes.

As part of my learning, I also looked at the monthly prize and concluded that I could not contend with the mega multi entrants and I was best of sticking to season long efforts.

The monthly multi entrants have got it off to a fine art and I've go no problem with that although I was gob smacked to hear that Dixon/Chuck Taylor apparently won the February monthly last season, I can't recall him being amongst the multi entrants who cleaned up month after month last season :? Can anyone confirm that Dixon did indeed win one?

It was obvious theirs and the Luckhurst clan were the main contenders with Fiso a hopeful 3rd. My teams hadn't a fullproof plan so knew they weren't good enough to put anywhere early and were only thrown in at 1hr before deadline to whoever was active for banter purposes.

I was actually meaning they'd done brilliantly to get so many leagues set up rather than implying they'd been cheating (though it does read like the latter).

Must have taken a fair bit of doing as we found out the other night.

Can't see us getting anywhere near them but will give it my best shot.

Aye, I'm in it for the fun, the extra mini league banter/rivalry keeps me going when things aren't going well.

Let's keep the banter as banter though 8-)

Out of Interest who did the best last year ?
I know I was doing well in the overall & leagues until I screwed up on a few early kickoffs
I think AndyE won the league prize (tbc)
Did anyone else bag any prizes ??

Concentrating on just the one league this year 8-)

Agreed, just couldn't resist pullng your leg :P

Regarding Mail monthlies. I don't keep an eye on them Pottster. I always just play the season long game. Can't remember Chuck Taylor posting that he'd won a monthly tho.
