Daily Mail 2012-13 Chit Chat
So we're off for another season. Live scoring started early and was very distracting when doing last minute tinkers.
Good luck everyone, let's hope for Fiso'ers near the top again this season.

Re: Daily Mail 2012-13 Chit Chat
I see a few games seem to be going in for 'live scoring' this season. I don't see the point, they don't update your position so all you know is your own score which you know roughly anyway. Plus the scores bit takes up room on the screen which means your whole team and subs don't fit and you have to scroll up and down and they grey out your team bit making it harder to see.
I thought the one good thing would be if you did a really last minute transfer you know if it went through in time or not by whether the live scoring had started but if they're starting that early that's not going to work either.
(Plus it seemed to be wrong anyway. No result bonuses included in the Mail and I don't know what the hell they were doing in the Mirror).
That was quite a moany first post of the season. Sorry about that. Good luck all

I agree with all your moans. I'll moan about your one positive note - the live scoring start before kickoff (e.g. 2 points if they are named in the starting lineup) so it doesn't tell you when it's too late to make transfers.

Hope it wasn't too costly...
Not a bad start for me. I've got a couple of teams with Ivanovic and Michu so least 2/5th have started ok. The last two seasons I've only had about 40 points from the first weekend so I'm due a good one.

Last season I didn't enter one of my teams until Monday night, loads of Man City players in it, by the end of September/ beginning of October it was 2nd overall (then I threw me teddy out of the pram). Such a high scoring game, it don't matter if you don't get off to a flyer.

Re: Daily Mail 2012-13 Chit Chat
So do people transfer in the potential one week wonders e.g michu, petric in the belief that the first week is an excellent indicator for the immediate future? For me, no. What do others think?

Seems to have gone a bit quiet on this forum for the moment. I guess people are busy jossling for position at the moment and plotting ways of burning those transfers in the most effective manner. Once things have settled down i'm sure the chatting will resume

Really angry with myself. Went out on a night-out, had a hangover in the morning and forgot to do my Chelsea --> Man City switch. Disaster.WilBert wrote:14th - good effort. Looks like the cafferky 'family' have got off to a winning start!Herc6 wrote:Got a team in 1st, 3rd and 11th.

Re: Daily Mail 2012-13 Chit Chat
Last years winner got approximately 3900 points. This requires an average of about 100 pts each week to be in contention. I have one team that has achieved this and is in the top 3000 so relatively happy so far - what about others?

This is not a bad start Pieboy but I would say if you have around 200 points at the moment after 2 game weeks then you should ideally have most subs still in tact. I have a few teams doing a little better points wise but I went on a transfer spree this Sunday Didn't exactly work out great for me either.PieBoy wrote:Last years winner got approximately 3900 points. Re: Daily Mail 2012-13 Chit Chat
Quiet on here How are we all doing then?
It's been a long slog but I've finally hit the leaderboard and I'm still loaded up with transfers. Too many really to make full use of them but I think there's been a real lack of opportunities to make up ground with tactical transfers so far.
And a quick survey, what formation is your best side?
