2013-14 Daily Mail Fantasy Football
Set to be launched at the end of the week. I did ask for a sneaky peek at the player list and was given this exclusive....Rvp will cost more than Kevin Phillips

To be honest it's like Fiso's no technique against ff's indepth drawn out process in this game. Good luck to them as they've got the technique right.

You're all behind the loop - the mail changed one of their links last week in preparation for this - check out the url , and indeed step back in time a few years ....

That's right, I'm JC.
Thing is, no one's sure which of the chuckle brothers you are, I'm guessing the ugly secret prize winner.
But I'm lovin the fact fiso's biggest hater is now revelling in their supposed triumphs.
Of which, what part exactly did you play chuckles???

To me, to you...
secret prize winner? (check my fs record, nothing secret there)
I love FISO with all my heart and have never said otherwise
nothing supposed about it, they the facts
your comment was simply forum 1 v forum 2, moving the goalposts now you've been trumped?

Good heads up Wilbert,
Just sat outside top 100 so every point counts.
Going to try something a bit different in one of my lesser teams to try and make some headway

Good call Wilbert.
Could have done with the same heads up last Wednesday when I left Negredo on my bench for the FA Cup replay. Had to be in the team I have that was in 11th place.

I set the alarm on my mobile 45 minutes before each days first kick off

Re: 2013-14 Daily Mail Fantasy Football
Yes, luckily I've plenty of time to make up for it but I'll be inconsolable if I finish within 12pts of the winner
The problem was I was positive I'd already sorted my substitutes. I had in my four other teams but managed to leave out the most important one!
How I do as well as I do in some of theses games is beyond me.

Re: 2013-14 Daily Mail Fantasy Football
Evening all,
When I saw there was some activity in this forum I assumed it was going to about the captain/transfer situation which seems to have gone unmentioned until now........
I don't know if everyone else has known about this all season and kept it to themselves or if nobody has realised or what, but when making a transfer if you changed your incoming player to be your new captain it didn't use up a captain change.
I only realised this when using my final transfer in mid December so I don't know how long it's worked like that but I'd assume from the start of the season.
Some time in the last week or so it's changed back to how it's meant to work and will now use up a captain change (unless the player you're replacing is already captain, obviously). I don't care which way round they do it but they could at least keep it consistent for the whole of the season. Poor.

Re: 2013-14 Daily Mail Fantasy Football
Didn't know about this, I'm having a rubbish season making any headway towards the top 100 has been a grind. This is just plain wrong though. They should work out how many times teams have used this loophole and deduct the number from their remaining captain changes.

I'd no idea either and I've a couple of teams up in the top thirty.
I wonder how many up near the top have used this loophole?

I don't know what you lot are bleating about
It is not a loophole, it has been available for at least 3 years (the time I've been playing it) and is mentioned quite clearly in the FAQ's
TBH I haven't used it much because I always seem to be replacing injured players
As you all appear to be higher in the league than me perhaps you should be penalised for not using it

Re: 2013-14 Daily Mail Fantasy Football
I've not known this loophole to be there before
To clarify - this is what could happen until last week as I understand it.
You have Suarez as captain. You transfer Lukaku out for Aguero and change the captaincy from Suarez to Aguero. This move only cost you one transfer and zero captaincy changes.
Plain wrong imo.

Re: 2013-14 Daily Mail Fantasy Football
Yes, that's correct Wilbert.
I think Tenpin has misunderstood. I'm sure it didn't work like that last season (and couldn't have three years ago as there was a different and opposite error with the website). I've just read the FAQs and it doesn't say that at all and is strongly implied you will use a CC unless replacing the current captain.

My apologies. I have misunderstood
I guess the s/w has been badly written such that it ignores (or accepts without loss?) any captaincy change provided a transfer has been made at the same time.
I'd guess that the 'decrementation' of the captaincy counter is incorrectly placed within the loop

Re: 2013-14 Daily Mail Fantasy Football
It wouldn't accept just any change. It had to be to the incoming player. I checked
Annoying that the loophole has disappeared just at the time I was about to make good use of it. I brought in Koscielny on Friday, Lallana on Saturday, and Hazard on Sunday (replacing injured/soon to be dropped players). It could have been double points all round
I'd be interested to know if anyone has been aware if it has worked like that from the start? Or could anyone confirm it definitely worked as it's meant to in the rules at the start?
If it's just some error from the last month or so it's probably not made too much difference but if it's worked like that from the beginning then the people who realised will have had a massive advantage and it renders the whole competition a bit of a farce.
I think it's actually quite an interesting idea and I think I like it working that way, although obviously it'd help if they mentioned it in the rules and didn't change back again halfway through....
