Any Electricans on FISO?
I’ve stepped on the plug of my Hoover Vacuum and have broken the pins in the plug.
I have gone to change the plug and noticed that the plug is moulded and doesn’t have screws to remove.
I then decided to cut the plug off the end and fix a new plug in to realize that there is no Earth wire.
I’ve google this and read that the plug which was on there would have been self earthing / Hoovers are now double insulated.
So my question is, can I just put a normal plug on the vacuum with no Earth? Or do I need to change the whole cable with a Moulded plug attached?

I still play Xpert 11 but unfortunately I am not an electrician.

Couldn't possibly have been a request from a Spurs source if they were only asking for an electrician.

Google sez: 'Double insulated, no earth required
Make sure you use the same sized (Amps) fuse as in the old plug though'
