Re: The Eliminator
It seems to be the only thing I can win at the moment, although given the way my scores are dropping each week my run is going to come to an end once I meet some decent opposition.

Re: The Eliminator
I went out with my pathetically low score to a team over 20,000 places below me (as if losing to uncsimes wasnt bad enough). Last week was fun tho, the team i played had almost half a team of Sydney players.

Re: The Eliminator
Bad luck CY, Round 8 was the suckiest round yet IMO.
I got a lowish score of 1732 yet I ranked 1,613th in the eliminator comp - crazy

I've got my eye on you, Budgie. I'm building a master team to take on the world
but I'll run out of trades by round 12 at this rate...

Re: The Eliminator
i got through 1823 v 1698
my opponent could've won with 2 standard trades. but fielded 2 donuts instead.
this week, i've got a tough opponent (ranked 10,000ish - but strong)
he's facing a donut in his back with Houlihan/Petrenko/Broughton, but i've got a feeling he'll be bringing in Grimes.
i'm nearly at full-strength (with Raines likely to cover for Houlihan).
it should be close.

Re: The Eliminator
Turns out last season was "the better go at it" Rolled by over 100 points & now only the league to concentrate on. Watch out boysWorm wrote:Fell in by 498 pts to some dude called FreeBootas Would love to at least get through to round 10 of this comp. Pretty sure I fell over early last go at it

Re: The Eliminator
I thought I would get pumped, but I only just lost. In the last game I had McGlynn and Whitecross versus Batemen and Franklin. Whitecross pulled out a massive 105 (thank god I ignored Tippaz advice ) but I needed Franklin to continue his poor form -he didn't and so I went out by around 30 odd points.

Re: The Eliminator
won (1897 v 1812)
lucky escape, considering i had Heath Scotland (virus) pull out of the game... which meant another donut
my opponent traded Houlihan -> Grimes, but did not use their other trade . Krakouer -> Davis and i would've been toast .

Re: The Eliminator
I`ve drawn a team a couple of thousand places beneath me in the Eliminator, so I`m pretty happy with that, but the team name is a strange coincidence(setanta suka punch)considering recent events
Might just get past this one with a bit of luck

Re: The Eliminator
Very prescient... or probably not.
Good luck with it Eric.
Anyone else apart from Eric and Marcus still in the Eliminator?

Re: The Eliminator
Yeh I'm still in the Eliminator, about the only thing I have been winning....
It seems like I have got another good draw with an opponent below me again and on paper it seems I should be able to win again, but I have Drummond & Goodwin out this week to join the Chad, so will have to rethink my transfer strategy.
My opponent is:
http://dreamteam.afl.com.au/?p=other_teams&tid=72420
A very different Midfield with only Bartel & Muston in common with my team.

Re: The Eliminator
I am, but not for much longer.
I've been quite unlucky recently with my opponents in this but managed to scrape through. This week is the first I've been in the bottom half of the draw and I'm up against 56th in the world.
Been at centre parcs all week so wasn't able to bring in Didak so will play with a donut in the forwards, with Warren and Goodwin out. Might be two if Sidebottom doesn't play. In fact I don't even have a clue if Bartel's injured. He better not be.

Re: The Eliminator
Think I'm still in with a slim chance as long as Ablett doesn't go ballistic
Me
Mackie, Bartel, Swan, Selwood, Hasleby, Sidebottom, (donut)
Him
Ablett x2, Didak, +215 points

Re: The Eliminator
Well I need Ablett to go ballistic to have any chance....
Me
Ablett x 2, Broughton, + 112 points
Him
Ling, Selwood, Bartel, Goodes and S.Johnson
and that's assuming that our matching players play eg. Cheney & Sidebottom - otherwise I'm in more trouble as he has decent reserves and I have none in forwards and Rance in Backs.

Re: The Eliminator
Well Ablett went soft and so I'm out of the Eliminator!! lost by 109 points which is about how much Ablett was below par, also came up against Cross, Ling & Johnson having big weeks.
Hope you went better Sarky!

nope lost by 12 points.
My forward donut hurt especially as I would have bought Didak in if I'd had internet access and now thanks to his 140 odd I can't afford him.
