B - Hodge, Scotland, Shaw, Adcock, Malceski, Raines, Hill, [Broadbent, Suban]
C - Judd, Dal Santo, Kerr, Hasleby, Coughlan, Rich, [Dangerfield, Davenport]
R - Cox, McIntosh, [White, Currie]
F - Harvey, Pavlich, Deledio, Thomas, Lucas, Headland, Yarran, [Sidebottom, Gumbleton]

exactly $50,000 left in the bank.
this a very generic looking team atm with 12 players i would consider "guns".
i hope to cut back on a Headland/Raines/Haselby to get some 1 or 2 more guns in.
and the cheapies need further analysis.
some nice value in the forwards this year.
Not bad...here's my first draft..

C Cornes, Lockyer, Birchall, Grimes, Adcock, Hayden, Houlihan (Suban, Rance)
K Cornes, S Burgoyne, Swan, Cross, Coughlan, Rich (Beams, Strauss)
Jolly, Simmonds (Currie, Trengrove)
Harvey, Pavlich, Deledio, Bradshaw, Hill, Lucas, Ziebell (Gumbleton, T Walker)

Tippett was terrible last year.

FYI I think I'm going to go Hille/Macintosh for my rucks and leave out Big Cox.

After seeing his performance in the NAB I've gone right off Big Cox.

Tippett???????
ok, sure he's not very consistent, but he did have some big games last year and he's cheap...

also purely based on the adelaide vs all-stars game played last week where he did very well

Right did this last year - didn't have a clue. When I was in Melbourne (2001), Essendon were good. I was told to support the Kangaroos and watched one live game (Roos v Hawthorn) where I was impressed by Byron Pickett's fighting - I assume he's retired cos I can't find him. Him and James Hird are the only players I remember.

Anyway picked my team based on the players who scored me some points last season and basically copied some from your teams. I also picked some based on names:

DEF: Cornes, Houli, Firrito, Polak, Adcock, Barry, Scarlett, (Petrenko, Suban)
MID: Judd, Cornes, Power, Bird, Masten, Harding (Dangerfield, Hall)
RUCK: Cox, Ottens (White, Roughead)
FWDS: Harvey, Chapman, Gamble, Fevola, Rioli, Headland, Hentshcel (Dick, Gumbleton)

Please dispense some advice......

Would have to check but think scarlett's injured. Not sold on Fev as a DT player either and Chappie had plenty of injury issues in 07 and 08. Don't think he's on modified pre-season this year though.

Could just be the Lagavulin talking though

Backs: Polak is very iffy at the moment as is Scarlett. Maybe get a Gram/Goddard/gun instead of Polak and/ or Barry- and then its looking good.
Mids: Looks good- look at the NAB Cup for Power, Bird, Harding as i've not heard them mentioned much.
Rucks: :D
Fowards: Fevola is good but inconsitent with his goals making up the majority of his points. Fevola to Pavlich/S.Johnson/someone of that ilk maybe.

I've signed up to the new league.

Does anyone know what SUPERTIPPING is? My work has blocked it as a gambling site. Presumably it's just footy tipping unless they've come up with some other bright idea.

Looks interesting. They have a 'weighted tipping' comp where you get points according to your tips and the bookies odds.

hmmm, that's very close. both will score similarly IMO.

but it's smarter to buy S.Hill in the backs because it's always harder to find good low price backs.
my advice: take Dangerfield as a mid, Hill as a back.

BUMP!

Still three places remaining... seemingly there were only 2 remaining at one point but a certain cheeky monkey left again.

HAHAHA! Okay I couldn't resist, it was killing me - I had a terrible first score in SC and I don't care about it as much as DT so I'm playing fast and loose in this league.

I just did..

Raines  Cheney
Lucas  GIA

I know it's stupid, but goddamn it felt good. I've staved off my urge to trade in DT which was the main thing.
