Oh FFS!
SF: Thank you for the enthusiastic reception <insert double entendre here>.
Our dear uncle has a point though, there's a time and a place and all that.

I'm intending to keep the ribbing spirit of the AFL forum alive and hope everyone joins in as that's half the fun, but I respect that we should let sleeping dogs lie.

Think I'll enter this again.
Had to cut down my fisoing in the last year so whilst my FPL team is struggling I dread to think how badly I'll do in this ridiculous game I still don't have a clue about.
(won't get beaten by an icky girl though.)

That's what all the ugly girls say.
Anyway, I'm Sarky's captain in the SISTAs - he knows all about getting spanked by an icky girl.

Speaking of which, has anyone seen Tippaz recently, he's not moving house again is he?
I need guidance from an expert.

I'm in now. Where's Tippaz and his advice?
When is the deadline for picking the team - is it 42 days? (I'm crap at this... )

Chill out, watch what happens in the NAB cup and listen to all the rubbish advice kicking around until tippaz gets his ass into gear on his pre-season review.
Plenty of time prof, plenty of time

Re: 2009 SEASON AFL LEAGUES
13 of the 16 invited have now taken their place in the FISO Premiership... and the code has been PM'd to the final three qualifiers from the list here.tedbull wrote:First batch of PMs sent to the top 16 eligible scorers from last season (as agreed here). The current invite list runs from Tippaz down to Jellysticks and omits those who have been banned or have stated that they do not wish to join the league. It's very likely that there will be more places available after Feb 11.
I'm proposing that we give people a week (until Feb 11) to enter the league before we invite the next batch of qualifiers.
Anyone have any thoughts/comments on the above?
On February 21 I'll post codes for any remaining places in the FISO Premiership and also for the FISO Championship (or whatever we will call it).
Ted.

Re: 2009 SEASON AFL LEAGUES
i'm still here...... and no, my house did not burn down (if that's what you might've been thinking). apparently the town i'm living in now experienced devastating bushfires in the late 60's. and just by looking at the surrounding landscape, i can see how easily that could happen. but we're safe, and we'll be moving to the new house in a few months (it's almost finished [and safe from bushfires]).X-Man wrote:I'm in now. if Tippaz Season Guide 2009 is in demand i'll write one up.
but it won't be coming out until either most or all of pre-season is over.
right now, i am just watching a few games, perusing a few stats, reading newspaper articles, studying prices & classifications, looking at some nice threads on bigfooty, and just taking mental notes here and there. i am also trying to assemble each team's starting lineup and learning each players' role - this is a critical element - as it helps unlock each players' "scoring potential" and "job security". after that, i go through each team and catergorise players into guns, hot prospects, smokies, cash cows. then after that, i can start writing.
hope that made sense.

I hope people are checking league regularly, there's some good info on the NAB results including DT and SC scores for each player.

Sorry chaps, I let this one slip.
2 places remain in the Premiership... First come first served... PM me for the code.
Then we'll open up the 2nd league... any ideas on a name for the 2nd league?
Ted.

Re: 2009 Season AFL DT - 2 PLACES REMAIN
I'm very sorry - I didn't see my messages until today.
I'm sure my place is gone, which is great, because I wasn't planning on playing this game this year. I've quit smoking and now it is time to give up some other addictions
I wish you all a fantasic season of AFL watching. The joy of seeing your man by himself in the backline, receiving marks and kicks as they wind down the clock. The disgust of seeing your man handball over the top to someone else's player to kick the goal. The shock of your captain hurting his ankle in pre-game massage hi-jinx. And the sheer delight of a youngster making the grade, and his price going through the roof.
PS I don't know the prices, but Cousins is a good bet until the hamstrings go! Good luck to you all. Oh......and HTFU!

Okay Downboys, I thought we did have a spot open, but if you need a break from enjoying watching large muscular men chase each other trying to grab a funny shaped ball then you should have a break.

Well, thank you for that.
You certainly have changed since you took off your habit and put the sunnies and mo on!
Good luck to you all...I'm sure I'll check in from time to time with the odd starspotting for you foreign players.

7 days to go and 1 place remains... surely someone wants to play in the AFL Premiership this year?
PM me for the code. Otherwise we get a teabagger

Wouldn't mind a teabagger, but I'd rather a fair chance of beating another Fisoer. C'mon Fisoers, step up!

I'll be the sacrifical lamb in the Premiership if no one else volunteers - not the gentlest of introductions to a new game but I'll take one for the team if required.

Re: 2009 Season AFL DT - 1 PLACE REMAINING!
Uhm... completely confused by this here tiered, multi-season private league system so...
can someone please tell me which FISO league I should be joining as an AFL DT rookie?
thx.
> would be willing to put my hand up for one of the championship teabagger spots if they are still going...

I believe these people are in the Championship DT league. Dalythgoe should have the code for this, or maybe Tedbull? PM those guys and ask for the code.Championship:

Probable (there last year but not posted yet): Flyman, Zulu Warrior,
Possible: Devil's Advocate, Walrus, Skyfire, Pommie Jimbo
Teabaggers: 3

Re: 2009 Season AFL DT - 1 PLACE REMAINING!
Sorry guys, I've been a bit slack with this. I've opened up the FISO Championship and PM'd the code to the three people who have recently expressed an interest. One lucky (?) poster will also have the option of joining the Premiership.
To encourage some participation I think a few of the Premiership folk should enter their team into that league as well... PM me if you fancy doubling your chances.
