Some Random Quiz Questions

Post by bluenosey »

Our firm entered a quiz last week and we finished a slightly disappointing 9th out of 32 teams, although there were a lot of Mekons in attendance and the bleedin' barristers finished first and second. Again

Anyway, I know some of you lot love a good quiz question or two, so here are a selection of random questions. One guess for each question. No Googling. Ta :D

Which commoner ruled England in 1658 and 1659 ?

Which Eastenders actress is the Sister of an Oscar nominated actor ?

Apart from water, what runs through the mouth of the Amazon and Lake Victoria ?

In the history of the singles charts, only three acts have ever replaced themselves at number one. Name them.

Which England boss made David Beckham Captain ?

What's the lowest score in darts that you cannot score with one dart ?

What is unusual about the ten day period October 5th 1582 to October 14th 1582 ?

Who is the most aired face in Britsih Televison history ?

All the ones I know have been got but...

Didn't they do a new version of the test card with a different girl. Same doll/toy thing so that is the most aired face

If I remember correctly, didn't they do this thing with releasing all of Elvis's singles one week at a time a few years back? If I remember rightly they kept getting to No. 1 all after each other.

Also RE: Cromwell. Which Cromwell is it Richard or Oliver???

Most of you got them, although some of the answer were a bit vague

Which commoner ruled England in 1658 and 1659 ?
Richard Cromwell (well done Rowdy for spotting the "which one")

Which Eastenders actress is the Sister of an Oscar nominated actor ?
Leila Morse (aka Big Mo')

Apart from water, what runs through the mouth of the Amazon and Lake Victoria ?
The Equator - well done if you got this for thinking out of the box

In the history of the singles charts, only three acts have ever replaced themselves at number one. Name them.
No one got all three - Beatles, Elvis and John Lennon

Which England boss made David Beckham Captain ?
Peter Taylor

What's the lowest score in darts that you cannot score with one dart ?
23

What is unusual about the ten day period October 5th 1582 to October 14th 1582 ?
Never existed due to change of calendar (Well done to Mike)

Who is the most aired face in Britsih Televison history ?
Indeed, the Test Card girl. her name is Carol Hersey (I think)

AK seemed so certain about the 3, that I assumed my vague recollection of the Mark Chapman inspired Lennon sales was wrong.

Missed this. Would only have been certain about the Equator and darts ones though - rest would have been guesses.

darts has to be 23 as that's the lowest prime number above 20.
