Congrats sted, I really blew that last round

Losing the likes of X-Man and GB has certainly mixed it up, but it's hard to get away from the feeling that this competition seems to be dying - only about 10/11 regular players now? Is there an alternative we could go to, something like QuizUp?

I think changing the cats would help - premier league and movies mean I usually only play 5 days a week on average.

As the quiz is slowly dying / getting less popular I thought it was time to re-revive an old 'favourite' (played in 2011 and 2013 I think). Might keep us keen and maybe attract back old players or even drag in new ones.

We'll start next Monday and play on every day til we have a winner (except Saturdays due to crap Premier league questions)

Starting Monday-
The Charles Darwin Survival Of The Least Thick Cup

Each day, starting Monday 21/9/15, we all gather at the mating ground known as the Quiz Arena to fight over the females who, errrr, are attracted to blokes who do well at quizzes and attempt to display our intelligence sufficiently to stay in the gene pool and not be left to lonely extinction. Everybody who gets the least amount of correct answers on that day is booted out (as are those who fail the darwinism test of actually turning up for the event). Everybody that bit clevererer survives. Times do not come into it and we won't boot everyone out if everyone is equal (communism days AKA Corbyns). If over half (but not all) are due to be booted out then you will all survive but those on the lowest score get a yellow card (signifying a genetic defect of some unmentionable description). Two yellows equals extinction.

e.g. if we have scores on a day, from those left in the comp, ranging from 3 to 9 then the thickoes on 3 get booted out (as long as that isn't over half the entry) and anybody with 4 or more lives on to fight another day.

So all you need to do to survive each day is:
a) Pass test 1 - remember to enter the quiz
b) Pass test 2 - not be the thickest

(no need to sign up for this one, just enter. The Reverse Darwinism Cup needs sign up and may follow along shortly.....)

PS Remind me on Monday

You are actually winning today in terms of seconds per correct answer.

But that isn't what counts - when it comes to Darwinism you are just the male dodo who went speed dating but got no more than sunday lunchtime trip to a carvery out of it...

Carvery = food of the gods - none of your fancy dan, lah-de-dah prentence - just honest, slightly tepid, slightly overcooked, "good"ness

The Charles Darwin Survival Of The Least Thick Cup
Day 1 Results

Well, a 'full' turnout of all 13 players to have already played in September (including Vid who had only played once) so was it the CDSOTLTC that got you all in?

Anyway, 12 out of 13 survive by being less thick than Knulpuk.

SURVIVORS
1. jagduracell + 13 pts 9 72 828
2. MoistVonLipwig + 12 pts 9 86 814
3. VId + 10 pts 8 81 719
4. nathan247 + 10 pts 8 95 705
5. FancyDan + 9 pts 7 66 634
6. spadger + 8 pts 6 52 548
7. Surprised + 8 pts 6 62 538
8. murf + 7 pts 6 68 532
9. MorrisonDullforce + 7 pts 6 77 523
10. Sted + 6 pts 6 85 515
11. vaughana + 3 pts 6 154 446
12. Bluenosey + 3 pts 5 61 439

DODO
13. knulpuk + 3 pts 3 26 274

So far today 3 survivors are outscoring Bluenosey's WWF Red List score of 4 but the target may become lower after I've had a go......

EDIT - Phew, got to 5. Lots of guesses in there today. Not much that many of us will 'know' for sure.

I think you should be de-evolved for not reading the rules!

Time doesn't come into it, and it is purely about the number of correct answers. As it stands BN and MD are both heading for the gene pool's exit door (is that an overflow??).

its been a long time since I read any rules.
