2010/11 - 2011/12 - 2012/13 - 2013/14 - 2014/15 - 2015/16 - 2016/17 - 2017/18 - 2018/19 - 2019/20

This will be the 11th season of the Spring League. The Reigning and Defending Champion from last season is sdhough. The other Division Winners from last season are no eye deer, Jacksosi and erm someone who's name rhymes with Squawkie Boaster.

Format

Spring League divisions work under this format:

* 16 teams playing each other once (15 games)
* Top 8 qualify for the play-offs (3 games)
* Starting Gameweek 21 (15+3)
* Four divisions - the Super League and three 'streamed' divisions
* The winner of the Super League is the official Spring League champion
* The winners of the 'streamed' divisions will have the division named after them next season
* All four 'regular season' divisional winners plus the next best three managers in each division will qualify for next season's Super League

Links

FISO Super League (Championship)
Talkie Toaster League (Higher)
no eye deer League (Intermediate)
Jacksosi League (Lower)

Entry List

The spring League is an invitational Event.

The Super League is made up of the 4 qualifiers from each of last season's Spring Leagues:

FISO Super League
sdhough
Talkie Toaster
no eye deer
Jacksosi
Joccki_10
Tall Paul
Spencer4
Britinus
Spinynorman
andybarrell
dino1980
Isalla
johnnyhp
Smurphy's Paw
Stemania
tenpinterry

The other 3 Leagues will be 'streamed' based on fpl scores in the 2018/19 & 2019/20 seasons plus the first 12 GWs of this season.

The initial invitations for participation in these leagues will be as follows:

1. Participants in last season's Super League: Fuzzy, Neath boy, From4Corners, The Real Slim Shady, 1Albert, sstaffsw, ajcairns, Albert_ini, velcro, ctibbits and Shevchenko.
2. Those who qualified for the playoffs in last season's streamed leagues: thebillfella, Geoffv, S_sutton87, baganboy, blahblah, nemo7x, wahine, Pulpy, stripes1973, Stevieste, 17days and fred1266.
3. Those who finished in 9th or 10th place in last season's streamed leagues: Malrom, RuudTheDudeVanTheMan, OxfordNZ, Hogmeister, Bob Newhart and Mo Bot
4. Previous Spring League Champions who might still be around and haven't already qualified in any of the above: Coryphaeus, Reds363 and Mashed Potatoes
5. Performance in other fpl sidegames last season: FISO Cup: Brightwater (thebillfella and staffsw already qualified); 5AS H2H wizardoffire, Stena bib and Darkish (andybarrel and S_sutton87 already qualified); Swiss Cup: yorkshiredragon (baganboy and Pulpy already qualified, Zimbo doesn't seem to be around this season); H2H Leagues (Stemania, Tall Paul and Neath boy already qualified); Mirror Leagues (thebillfella, andybarrell and Hogmeister already qualified); Divisionals (thebillfella, baganboy and andybarrell already qualified)

That leaves 11 places still available which will be filled from this season's FISO Cup competition: The 6 teams with the best records at the end of the qualifiers stage, which haven't already qualified for the Spring League, will all be invited to join the Spring League. The next best 10 teams will play off against another team over GWs 11 and 12 to decide the final 5 places.

The best records in the FISO Cup Qualifying Groups shall be determined as follows:

1. Highest position in Qualifying Group.
2. Points Scored in Qualifying Group.
3. FPL Points up to GW 12
4. FPL Points from2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons
5. Lowest fpl id for this season

League Codes

League Join Codes for the Super League have been sent out. Codes for the remaining Leagues will be sent out after GW 12 when I have the full entry list and the streams have been calculated.

When you receive a code please join your league as quickly as you can. It will be a massive help if anyone who receives a code but doesn't want to play in the Spring League could reply to let me know so that I can get on with offering their place to someone else.

You will have until the deadline of GW16 to join your League before I start looking for a replacement.

Replacements for anyone who doesn't join their league in time will be chosen at my discretion based on contributions to FISO and participation in sidegames.

Looks like you will qualify due to your impressive performance in the FISO cup, leading Group K with 21 points atm. with only 2 GW's to play :)

Hi snakzz. You missed the last season so you don't get an automatic invite back, but as ONZ says, you are likely to get in through the FISO Cup.

Make sure you look out for the invite around GW12 and join the league before GW16. It sounds a long way off, but with the December and Xmas schedules we're going to start rattling through the GWs quite quickly now. :D

Qualification Update

Now that the FISO Cup Group Qualifying Stage has completed we can confirm a few more Spring League Qualifiers:

The top 6 teams from the Cup which have not already qualified by other means are automatically in. These are:

snakzz
Fingerpass
Bølla Pinnsvin
topspur
morganb
sibrown4

The 10 next best teams go into a 2 leg playoff:

bossdrum (7) vs Pieman666 (16)
Caf (8) vs xjosh (15)
Woody71 (9) vs ares89 (14)
taivt (10) vs RomynPG (13)
Jobmeister (11) vs Stormrider (12)

Playoffs will take place over GWs 11 & 12 with the highest aggregate score over the 2 legs qualifying for the Spring League. In the case of a tie then the team with the highest rank from the FISO Cup Qualifiers will go through.

For transparency the criteria for sorting teams into the Streamed Leagues is according to fpl points scored in the last 2 seasons plus this season's score up to and including GW12.

Codes for the leagues have now been sent out to everyone who is invited. If you haven't received your code then please let me know.

Everyone has until GW16 to join their league. After that I shall start seeking replacements. Replacments will be subjectively chosen by me depending on which leagues have spaces remaining. I shall give priority to those who actively contribute to FISO through running side games, moderating and posts.

Or you could give priority to those who had consistently taken part in the league but this year (by no fault of their own) were kicked out of the league despite never being relegated

A good point very well made except under Taca's latest rules everyone who didn't qualify for the Super League was relegated and had to re-qualify the following year, with entry to the FISO Cup being part of the requirements. I've relaxed those two rules somewhat so you are under consideration if we have some spaces. We'll have to see how things pan out.

Well thank you for considering me, much obliged :) although the rule about everyone being relegated if you didnt qualify for the super league not strictly true. I only made the promised land once and never got relegated from the lower leagues. Why i hear you ask? well i never finished in the relegation zone to be relegated

on a side note not sure why i didnt put my hands up for the fiso cup :? must have been so much going on season start that this one skipped right over me

It's because that was prior to 2017/18 when only 1 team from each of the streamed leagues was relegated. At the end of the 2017/18 season Taca changed the rules because he wanted more turnover of teams. If you didn't make the Super League you had to qualify for the next season either through the FISO Cup or by being granted a licence due to your posting history or running side games etc. You didn't qualify for the Super League that season, but were granted a licence for 2018/19 due to your posts. You didn't qualify again that season and this time weren't granted a licence by Taca for 2019/20 so you would have had to qualify through the Cup. However, Taca then disappeared and I let you back in due to your history in the Spring League and Cup participation as you mention above. We'll probably never know if you would have been back in or not when the leagues were finally drawn up if Taca had carried on.

For this season I wanted to do something half way between Taca's old and new rules so a lot more Spring League participants from 2019/20 are automatically back in and there are routes to entry through all of the main fpl side games as well as the cup. Your long history in this competition coupled with still being an active poster on FISO will stand you in good stead if places become available, but you wont be right at the front of the queue.

I hope that clears things up. Apologies for not explaining it better in the first place. :)
