The FISOlympic Committee are proud to confirm that the greatest test of FPL endurance and versatility returns to this land once again for the 2018/19 season, again hosted by the island of Jersey.

Sign up this season is being conducted across a multitude of services, because apparently that's more inclusive or something. Entries have already been accepted via the new for this season Google Forms portal and that may continue to be used (possibly only for this game - you would need to check the rules of other games listed to see if entries after the start of the season can be accepted). A few additional athletes expressed an interest in playing on a previous thread to this one.

Entries will also be accepted within this thread. To sign up here, please provide in this thread a link to your history page, plus optionally details of which country / territory / random collection of particles you would like to represent for this game. As ever the Committee will not be entering any political debates as to suitability of any state / region. Existing entrants may also confirm the nation they wish to participate for here - spurious stories documenting your rationale for choosing your nation would be welcomed, but are not essential.

Entry closes at 11:30 today, the GW5 FPL deadline.

The schedule for the decathlon will follow shortly. Scoring will be the same as last time but the schedule is yet to be set.

The Rules & Schedule

Factored Points are points scored, (be that GW score, Sum of MIDs etc), multiplied by 50/Average GW Score

100m
Event 1: GW5

Points: Gameweek Score converted to a time
Time (sec) = 12.2 - (0.025 x FactoredPoints)


Long Jump
Event 2: GW6, 7, 8

Points: Highest Scoring Player's points converted to a distance
Penalty of 10% of all boni scored by all of your squad
(All 15 Squad members included - Captain's points NOT doubled/tripled)
Foul: Foul jump if any of the squad's 1st 11 gets either a Red Card, an Own Goal or a Penalty Miss
Distance (cm) = 600 + (2.5 x FactoredPoints)


Shot Putt
Event 3: GW9, 10, 11

Points: Total points for GKs and DEFs converted to a distance
(Whole Squad included, 2xGK & 5xDEF, - Captain's points NOT doubled/tripled)
Foul: Foul throw if any of the squad's 1st 11 gets either a Red Card, an Own Goal or a Penalty Miss
Distance (m) = 12 + (0.07 x FactoredPoints)


High Jump
Event 4: GW13, 14, 16

Points: Gameweek Score converted to a height
(Athlete sets Target height (gameweek score), pass that score to clear bar. Height attained is based on Target points)
Height (m) = 180 + (0.5 x gameweek score)


400m
Event 5: GW17, 18

Points:
GW17 Total points for GKs, DEFs and MIDs converted to a time
GW18 Total points for FWDs converted to a time
(Whole Squad included, 2xGK, 5xDEF, 5xMID & 3xFWD - Captain's points NOT doubled/tripled)
GW17 Time (sec) = 27 - (0.05 x FactoredPoints)
GW18 Time (sec) = 28 - (0.07 x FactoredPoints)


110m Hurdles
Event 6: GW22

Points: Gameweek Score converted to a time.
10% Average GW Points penalty for each Clean Sheet by all your GKs and DEFs
Time (sec) = 16.4 - (0.035 x FactoredPoints)


Discus
Event 7: GW23, 24, 25

Points: Total BPS for whole squad converted to a distance
(All 15 Squad members included - Captain's points NOT doubled/tripled)
Foul: Foul throw if any of the squad's 1st 11 gets either a Red Card, an Own Goal or a Penalty Miss
Distance (m) = 37 + (0.2 x FactoredPoints)


Pole Vault
Event 8: GW27, 29, 31

Points: Gameweek Score converted to a height
(Athlete sets Target height (gameweek score), pass that score to clear bar. Height attained is based on Target points)
Height (m) = ((2.2 x gameweek score)+365)/100)


Javelin
Event 9: GW30, 32, 33

Points: Total points for MIDs and FWDs converted to a distance
(Whole Squad included, 5xMID and 3xFWD, - Captain's points NOT doubled/tripled)
Foul: Foul throw if any of the squad's 1st 11 gets either a Red Card, an Own Goal or a Penalty Miss
Distance (m) = 51 + (0.35 x FactoredPoints)


1500m
Event 10: GW34, 35, 36, 37

Points: Gameweek Score converted to a lap time. 4 laps makes up the whole race. Finishing time is sum of 4 lap times
Lap Time (sec) = 75 - (FactoredPoints/4)

Sorry if I dare to comment on this.
One of the downsides of the Portal, is that a few players find themselves entered in sidegames, without realising they did.

It happened last season, it's happening again this one.
And I'm not referring to just fred here.

Of course it's not fault of the Portal per se, but of those who're accustomed to blindly click not knowing what they do.
We could as well automatically enlist all Fisoers in every sidegame.
Or make them click that they donate all their substances to fiso
