My strategy of only picking players I'd heard of until I ran out of money then shoehorning anyone in seems to be working. Lost 3 in the womens and none in the mens and only have Murray left to play in Rd 1.

Anyone know what happened to Robin Soderling - shown as withdrawn and replaced by Rogerio Dutra Da Silva . Soderling was my first choice as I thought he had a good chance of making the final but there is no news on the US Open site about his late withdrawal.

Da Silva seems to have started well enough though, 6-0 in the first set of his round 1 game .

BBC - Sixth seed Robin Soderling withdraws from the US Open because of illness. Soderling was due to play Ireland's Louk Sorensen in round one and his place will be taken by Rogerio Dutra da Silva of Brazil.

Thanks for the updates and support. I am quietly surprised that I am top of this considering quite a few of my picks on the woman's side went out in the first round - however, my men's selections made up for this early setback.

It would seem I have a less than 50/50 chance to win this however, I still believe it is possible to win with good fortune.

The situation the way I see it is as follows,

I am 8 points ahead of 2nd place but he/she has an additional player (Stosur) that is the only difference. Nobody else can win this as far as I can tell.
I need Stosur to get less than 8 games in the final to win, any more than 8 is a narrow defeat.
I'd say I still have a 30% chance of winning this seeing how well Serena Williams is playing but I have to concede I am not favourite to win.

Let's hope for my sake (and not for every other tennis fan) that this is one of the most one-sided US open finals ever.
