2019 Fantasy Tennis results

A new season of the
Tennis For Free (TFF) Dream Team game starts with the
Australian Open on Sun 13 Jan.
The
French,
Wimbledon and
US Open tournaments follow later this year.
Summary
- first event runs from 23:00 GMT Sun 13 Jan (10:00 14 Jan in Melbourne) to Sun 27 Jan
- to play, select ten men and ten women within £50m budget for each section
- team can be modified endlessly before first match; no transfer allowed after that
- game is free but any voluntary donation to TFF will enter you into the Prize Draw
- donation of £5 or more puts you in the Champions Race (covering all four Grand Slam events)
- prizes are presented to the best teams in the season-long Champions Race
- one entry per person
- to register a team, visit

- as usual, the FISO mini-league will be set up and announced on this thread for each Major
- separately, as before, the best forumite in Champions Race will receive a
2019 Fiso Sports Mug;

This seems to have opened earlier than previous editions. Not that it will make any difference to the disappointment!

Good first day - everybody that played today got through. Still many yet to play though.
Just checked that only 2 people in our group have Nadal - quite surprising that so many people went without him, including myself

Impressive by Murray this morning. Was getting concerned that he may knock out my first player at one point!

Also just noticed that only one more person besides me has Wozniacki, which, as we see today, was definitely not a good pick. Looking at the bracket I filled out it seems there were much better options for me to choose, especially given her price. Other than that happy with my result, given that I have not really followed tennis that much last year.

Grant both have more players. The only question is if my lead will be enough to hold the third spot - looking at what players others have I doubt that

Woo hoo !!! Gone up to 399th. Was 400th last time I looked, so I'm going in the right direction. If this keeps going until August 17th, I'll be top.
Also had a look at the entry that's currently last. A big cheat, not spending all the money. I think entries that don't utilise the full budget should be barred.
