FISO ESPN NFL Season 9 - match reports

Post by Rick Spangle »

Here we go again!

WEEK 1 RESULTS

Barry Crockers 87 @ 68 Crystal Tipps
Not a wonderful start to the season for either team, except for Gronkowski's 27 points for the Crockers. Mark Ingram (11) and the Ravens DST (14) the only other Crockers to hit double figures. Tipps had 17 from Andrew Luck and reasonable contributions from Brandon Marshall (12) and the Dolphins DST (13) but too many of their stars really didn't get out of the starting gate this week.

X-Men 88 @ 63 Portsmouth Pirates
18 each from Ben Roethlisberger and the Broncos DST for the X-Men in a comfortable win against the Pirates who, apart from Tony Romo's 22, had a very lifeless outing with no-one else into double figure scoring. Note that of X-Mens 5 RBs, 3 are already injured - fortunately you only need 2, and you can't grumble at those two being Marshawn Lynch and deMarco Murray!

Get It Right Next Time 64 @ 110 Cornish Tinners
Drew Brees chipped in with 16, but not a great start to the season for GIRNT. Conversely, an excellent week for the Tinners in this big win. 21 each from Chris Ivory and the Panthers DST, 19 from Antonio Brown and 18 from Jason Witten taking them comfortably over the 100 mark - and all this while losing their top WR Dez Bryant and top RB CJ Anderson during their games. Anderson might be OK for next week, but Bryant will be out for a while.

Fulchester Fish 115 @ 44 Forest Tigers
Biggest win of the week, and an early contender for what could be the biggest win of the whole season, for the Fish. Aaron Rodgers and Bengals TE Tyler Eifert both scored 22, backed up by a huge performance from Broncos kicker Brandon McManus with two 50+ yard FGs. Only Alfred Morris got more than 10 for the Tigers, but more worryingly, they already seem not to have checked their line-up, starting the suspended Martavis Bryant (and among the bench, there's still the IR-designated Jay Ajayi and the released Montee Ball). I'll monitor this in the coming weeks.
Edited to add 2 points to Fish score - stat correction.

Chingford Gingers 97 @ 105 Caracas Firecrackers
I remember from last year that the Firecrackers suffered three consecutive losses when needing just a few points from their last remaining player in the Monday night games and failing to get them. Here's the other side of the coin - top-scoring player of the week Carlos Hyde amssed 29 points to lift the Firecrackers from an unpromising position to an 8 point win. Travis Kelce weighed in with 22 in a good week for TEs. 97 points is a good score for the Gingers (22 from Matt Forte and 20 from the Seahawks DST) but unlucky in the scheduling this week. One surprising stat - Colts kicker Vinatieri failing to score a single point.

Bruschi 54s 128 @ 90 Putney Gooners
Top score of the week for the 54s (and you can add top bench score, 61, of the week to that as well) in a heavyweight battle. Pretty much everyone making their presence felt for the 54s, with Julio Jones (26) and Jeremy Hill (18) leading. Two excellent scores from Gooners players - Tom Brady scored 27 and DeAndre Hopkins 23, but they weren't helped by the early departure of DeSean Jackson and the obvious rustiness of top RB Adrian Peterson.

WEEK 2 FIXTURES

Portsmouth Pirates (0-1) @ Barry Crockers (1-0)
Crystal Tipps (0-1) @ X-Men (1-0)
Forest Tigers (0-1) @ Get It Right Next Time (0-1)
Cornish Tinners (1-0) @ Fulchester Fish (1-0)
Putney Gooners (0-1) @ Chingford Gingers (0-1)
Caracas Firecrackers (1-0) @ Bruschi 54s (1-0)

WEEK 2 RESULTS

Portsmouth Pirates 66 @ 91 Barry Crockers
A disappointing outing for the Pirates, mainly due to injuries suffered by QB Tony Romo and RB Lamar Miller. Miller may be back next week, but time to start looking for a replacement for Romo. In their absence, the WRs Amari Cooper (16), Jarvis Landry (11) and AJ Green (10) tried manfully, but too much work to do. Crockers got 20 points from Peyton Manning and 17 from top TE Rob Gronkowski while Mason Crosby's 4 FGs was also a useful contribution.

Crystal Tipps 70 @ 107 X-Men
WRs Brandon Marshall (16) and Calvin Johnson (14) were the leaders for the Tipps, but poor showings from MNF players QB Andrew Luck (8) and RB Frank Gore (just 3) meant that the X-Men held on comfortably. Three great performances from them - QB Ben Roethlisberger (30), WR Odell Beckham (20) and the Broncos D (21). What with two further QBs on the bench both scoring 25+, X-Men are in a great trading position for teams lacking at the QB position.
Edited to add 1 point to X-Men score - stat correction.

Forest Tigers 65 @ 101 Get It Right Next Time
A mediocre score from the Tigers, led by QB Teddy Bridgwater with 18 and RB LeSean McCoy with 10, but these were the only two to make it out of single figures. TE position is a real problem with Josh Hill getting his second successive zero score. A couple of 20's from the WR slot (Emmanuel Sanders and Torrey Smith) plus 19 from Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski leading to an easy win for GIRNT.

Cornish Tinners 82 @ 72 Fulchester Fish
Two big performers on the Tinners team - WR Antonio Brown (27) and QB Carson Palmer (21) - saw them home in a narrow victory over the Fish, who had three players on their team failing to register a single point (Eddie Lacy, Mike Evans and LeGarrett Blount). Stand-in RB Deangelo Williams and QB Aaron Rodgers with 26 and 21 points respectively tried their best to get the Fish home, but three duck eggs was too much of a handicap.

Putney Gooners 105 @ 76 Chingford Gingers
About a 30-point margin of victory seemed to be very popular this week. QB Tom Brady top scored with 28, while top man Adrian Peterson finally got started on his season (one week late!) with 16. Add 15 from the kicker position (Justin Tucker) and the DST (Chiefs, with 13), and the Gooners hit triple figures for the week. An injured QB Matthew Stafford scored 19, but the Gingers could be another team in the market for a new QB for next week. Sadly for the Gingers, the bench put in almost as good a week as the first team, with rookie RB Matt Jones' 24 points going unused.

Caracas Firecrackers 76 @ 59 Bruschi 54s
Firecrackers move to 2-0 with this lowish-scoring victory over the 54s. The bulk of their scoring was from two players, QB Russell Wilson (21) and WR Julian Edelman (22). For the 54s, RB Jamaal Charles scored 14 and WR Julio Jones 13, but the damage was done by two players who ended up with negative scores - can't remember seeing that before. (RB Jeremy Hill and WR Keenan Allen, for the record). Having mentioned earlier that the Gingers bench scored well, this game was also notable for both benches actually outscoring both first teams! (78 for the Firecrackers, 64 for the 54s). Another odd stat - after 2 games, Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri still without a single point for the season.

WEEK 3 FIXTURES

Barry Crockers (2-0) @ X-Men (2-0)
Portsmouth Pirates (0-2) @ Crystal Tipps (0-2)
Get It Right Next Time (1-1) @ Fulchester Fish (1-1)
Forest Tigers (0-2) @ Cornish Tinners (2-0)
Chingford Gingers (0-2) @ Bruschi 54s (1-1)
Putney Gooners (1-1) @ Caracas Firecrackers (2-0)

WEEK 3 RESULTS

Barry Crockers 128 @ 71 X-Men
A huge win, and the high score of the week, for the unbeaten Crockers. Obviously good scoring from pretty much everyone on their team, with the RB combo of Chris Johnson and Latavius Murray leading the way with 27 and 20 points respectively. TE Greg Olsen was the lone high point for X-Men with a fine 25, and they are going to have to go with a backup QB for a few games with the injury to Ben Roethlisberger.

Portsmouth Pirates 94 @ 72 Crystal Tipps
No doubt about the star of the show here for the Pirates -WR AJ Green with a massive 34 points. Fellow WR James Jones also had a good day with 19. The Colts duo of QB Andrew Luck (16) and RB Frank Gore (20) led for the Tipps, but much like the Colts, the Tipps are off to a rocky start this year.

Get It Right Next Time 62 @ 100 Fulchester Fish
Two big performers for the Fish - QB Aaron Rodgers his usually excellent self with 34, and a rather more surprising 26 from RB LeGarrett Blount. Not a whole lot else, but enough to see off a slightly below par GIRNT team, who only had a couple of Patriots breaking the 10 point barrier (K Stephen Gostkowski with 17, and RB Dion Lewis with 12).

Forest Tigers 74 @ 78 Cornish Tinners
Closest game of the week, and a narrow win for the Tinners. Two huge scorers here, one for either team - Falcons RB Devonta Freeman taking advantage of fellow running back Tevon Coleman's absence by scoring a week-high 37 points. QB Carson Palmer's 18 also came in handy. Top man on the Tigers side was veteran WR Steve Smith with 13 catches on his way to 30 points. Tinners remain unbeaten, Tigers still to get off the mark.

Chingford Gingers 85 @ 111 Bruschi 54s
Very lopsided scorecard from the Bruschis on their way to this big win - WR Julio Jones (28), Larry Fitzgerald (25), RB Jamaal Charles (25) and QB Eli Manning (19) all with excellent days, but very little from any of the other 5 players. More than enough for the win though, as despite WR Randall Cobb's great game last night (28 points) and a good showing from the Seattle D (18), the Gingers never really threatened, and sadly remain winless on the year.

Putney Gooners 109 @ 127 Caracas Firecrackers.
A battle of two high scoring teams, and the Firecrackers come out on top. After 2 down seasons, the Firecrackers are really putting it together this year, moving to 3-0. Top scoreer of their week came unusually from the defence, the Cards running two Colin Kaepernick interceptions back for TDs in the first quarter on the way to 30 points. Dallas RB Joseph Randle also had a good day with 3 TDs for 27 points. Four good scorers for the Gooners (QB Tom Brady (22), RBs Adrian Peterson (24) and LeVeon Bell (19), and WR DeAndre Hopkins (16)) meant that the Gooners would have beaten a lot of other teams this week - but not the Firecrackers!

That's the first round of division matchups over - now for inter-division games, (and a heavyweight contest to start us off).

WEEK 4 SCHEDULE

Barry Crockers (3-0) @ Caracas Firecrackers (3-0)
Forest Tigers (0-3) @ Portsmouth Pirates (1-2)
Crystal Tipps (0-3) @ Putney Gooners (1-2)
X-Men (2-1) @ Fulchester Fish (2-1)
Bruschi 54s (2-1) @ Get It Right Next Time (1-2)
Chingford Gingers (0-3) @ Cornish Tinners (3-0)

Also, bye weeks starting up - please check lineups - ta.

WEEK 4 RESULTS

Barry Crockers 67 @ 51 Caracas Firecrackers
The battle of the two unbeaten teams ended up being really ugly, but the Crockers came out on top by 14 points. Only RB Mark Ingram managed double figures with 12. Firecrackers also had only one player over 10, Seahawks QB Russell Wilson managing 15, but that was about it. And this wasn't even the lowest scoring match up of the week!
Edited to add 2 more points for Crockers - stat correction.

Forest Tigers 79 @ 57 Portsmouth Pirates
Not a lot to shout about in this one either as the Tigers finally get their first win of the year, mainly thanks to two RBs, Doug Martin (19) and Ronnie Hillman (16). A couple of 13's from two of the Pirates lesser lights - QB Ryan Fitzpatrick and stand-in Bills RB Karlos Williams - but not much else.

Crystal Tipps 58 @ 85 Putney Gooners
Another low score in this low-scoring week for the Tipps, still looking for their first win. A combined 35 points from star RB duo of LeVeon Bell (20) and Adrian Peterson (15), and a more than useful 15 from kicker Justin Tucker helped the Gooners on to a (for this week) reasonable total score. For the Tipps, QB David Carr (13), WR Brandon Marshall (12) and TE Charles Clay (11) were OK at best; the rest of the team had a really poor day.
Edited to subtract 2 points from Tipps - stat correction.

X-Men 56 @ 59 Fulchester Fish
Possibly the lowest weekly winning score for some time as the Fish edged home in this horror matchup. QB Aaron Rodgers got 15, and kicker Brandon McManus 12 for the Fish. An 80 yard run from RB CJ Spiller on Sunday night (14 points in itself) brought the X-Men to within 3, but RB Marshawn Lynch's non-appearance in the Monday night game sealed the deal.

Bruschi 54s 89 @ 91 Get It Right Next Time
Another narrow win, and in this week of 50, 60 and 70 scores, Bruschis unlucky going up against GIRNT. A restored Drew Brees put up 22 points, and also a very welcome 17 from the kicker slot, courtesy of Cardinals Chandler Catanzaro. RB Jeremy Hill (24) had a fine day for the 54s, as did QB Eli Manning (18) but they come up just short, and both teams are now at .500 for the season.

Chingford Gingers 67 @ 118 Cornish Tinners
Finally, a team over 100, and it's the all-conquering Tinners. RB Devonta Freeman with his second straight massive game (32), and also excellent scoring from RB Chris Ivory (22) and the Panthers D (18). In contrast, the Gingers catching the general malaise of the week with only QB Carson Palmer having a more than reasonable day with 17 points.

WEEK 5 FIXTURES

Get It Right Next Time (2-2) @ Barry Crockers (4-0)
Caracas Firecrackers (3-1) @ Portsmouth Pirates (1-3)
Forest Tigers (1-3) @ Bruschi 54s (2-2)
Cornish Tinners (4-0) @ Crystal Tipps (0-4)
X-Men (2-2) @ Putney Gooners (2-2)
Fulchester Fish (3-1) @ Chingford Gingers (0-4)

WEEK 5 RESULTS

Get It Right Next Time 103 @ 64 Barry Crockers
GIRNT handed the Crockers their first loss of the year with a comfortable win. RB trio of Justin Forsett (22), Todd Gurley (15) and Dion Lewis (14) all scored well, and the Eagles D chipped in with a useful 13. Crockers down to earth with a bit of a bump in a poor week, with only WR Allan Robinson (19) performing above expectations.

Caracas Firecrackers 103 @ 91 Portsmouth Pirates
Firecrackers back to their winning ways after last week's first loss with this narrow win over the Pirates. Backup Seattle RB Thomas Rawls got 22 points, with good support from WR Julian Edelman (18) and RB Carlos Hyde (15). A good week's scoring from the Pirates with the Packers DST leading the way (21), plus QB Sam Bradford's 17, but not quite enough this week.

Forest Tigers 76 @ 83 Bruschi 54s
54s squeak home, partly due to the fact that for the second time already this year, Tigers ended up playing only 7 men. 54s mainly with QB Eli Manning's 28 to be thankful for. Even two men down (the inactive Martavis Bryant and kicker Blair Walsh on a bye), the Tigers got close due to RB Doug Martin's fantastic 33, WR Brandon Cooks and the Tampa D 16 points each, but it was too much of a handicap.

Cornish Tinners 83 @ 59 Crystal Tipps
This one went to form as the previously unbeaten Tinners knocked off the winless Tipps to ensure the only perfect record remaining. RB Devonta Freeman, the top overall fantasy performer of the last three weeks, got another 25 to add to his two previous 30+ scores, and QB carson Palmer helped out with 18. Not too much from any of the Tipps, with only RB Frank Gore (15) and the Patriots DST (13) hitting double figures.

X-Men 116 @ 131 Putney Gooners
The two top scores of the week collide in week 5, with the X-Men very unfortunate in taking the loss. Easier to point out the disappointments in this one - and while the Gooners got reasonable-to-good scoring out of everyone, the difference ended up being two very low scores of RB CJ Spiller (1) and TE Coby Fleener (0) on the X-Men squad. Tough luck Stuart!

Fulchester Fish 74 @ 60 Chingford Gingers.
In contrast, another win for the Fish with a less than stellar score. Needing 9 points from TE Antonio Gates in last night's game, the returning TE immediately found his form with 21, compensating for an unusually lacklustre showing from star Packers combo Aaron Rodgers and Eddie Lacy. 16 from RB Matt Forte and 14 from the Seahawks DST for the Gingers, but not a lot else for the Gingers who along with the Tipps are still looking for that first win.

WEEK 6 FIXTURES

Barry Crockers (4-1) @ Fulchester Fish (4-1)
Cornish Tinners (5-0) @ Caracas Firecrackers (4-1)
Crystal Tipps (0-5) @ Forest Tigers (1-4)
Putney Gooners (3-2) @ Get It Right Next Time (3-2)
Portsmouth Pirates (1-4) @ Chingford Gingers (0-5)
Bruschi 54s (3-2) @ X-Men (2-3)

WEEK 6 RESULTS

Barry Crockers 91 @ 104 Fulchester Fish
Quite a high-scoring matchup, narrowly taken by the Fish, courtesy of three good performances from RB LeGarrett Blount (22), WR Alshon Jeffrey (20) and QB Aaron Rodgers (19). Mark Ingram top-scored for the Crockers with 17, but with too many average and not enough excellent scores, they fall short.

Cornish Tinners 89 @ 86 Caracas Firecrackers
Tinners go striding on to a 6-0 record with this very close win over the Firecrackers. Like the Fish, Tinners score was mainly down to three players, in this case RBs Chris Ivory (25), Devonta Freeman (again! - 27) and QB Carson Palmer (16). Two Seahawks leading the scoring for the Firecrackers, QB Russell Wilson with 16, and kicker Steven Hauschka with 14 but just not quite enough.

Crystal Tipps 65 @ 104 Forest Tigers
Tipps miserable season continues with this heavy defeat against the Tigers. Apart from the WR pair of Calvin Johnson (22) and Brandon Marshall (15), no-one else showed up. WR also best position for the Tigers courtesy of 25 from Martavis Bryant and 19 from Steve Smith.

Putney Gooners 110 @ 88 Get It Right Next Time
A good week for the Gooners behind Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins fine 26, and 22 from QB Tom Brady. Not a bad score either from GIRNT with the Eagles DST topscoring on 19 and a pair of 16's from QB Drew Brees and WR Emanuel Sanders, but falling a little way short this week.

Portsmouth Pirates 87 @ 77 Chingford Gingers
Gingers also remain out of the win column with this tight loss to the Pirates. Two RBs, Lamar Miller (17) and Arian Foster (16) had good days, as did 49ers kicker Phil Dawson who also contributed a useful 16. For the Gingers, QB Andy Dalton got 21 and RB Matt Forte 16, but the Pirates just hang on.

Bruschi 54s 69 @ 124 X-Men
Highest score and biggest win of the week for the X-Men. Only RB Chacandrick West, in relief of Jamaal Charles, got anything less than a reasonable-to-good score - QB Colin Kaepernick ended up as the top-scorer with 22. WR Keenan Allen was on his way to a record-breaking game before leaving with an injury, but still clocked up 15 points - unfortunately there was only one other 54er in double figures, RB Jeremy Hill with 12.
Edited to add one extra point for X-Men - stat correction.

WEEK 7 FIXTURES

Chingford Gingers (0-6) @ Barry Crockers (4-2)
Caracas Firecrackers (4-2) @ Fulchester Fish (5-1)
Forest Tigers (2-4) @ Putney Gooners (4-2)
Crystal Tipps (0-6) @ Bruschi 54s (3-3)
Portsmouth Pirates (2-4) @ Cornish Tinners (6-0)
Get It Right Next Time (3-3) @ X-Men (3-3)

WEEK 7 RESULTS

Chingford Gingers 67 @ 124 Barry Crockers
The Gingers miserable continues with this thumping loss to Barry Crockers. Three reasonable scorers in QB Matt Stafford (18), WR Stefan Diggs (16) and the Seahawks D (14) but far too many other really poor performances condemn the Gingers to another defeat. In contrast, Crockers had a great week - everyone bar WR Doug Baldwin and K Nick Novak well into double figures, RB Mark Ingram just coming as top scorer with 20.

Caracas Firecrackers 77 @ 99 Fulchester Fish
A comfortable win for the Fish on the back of a couple of 22-point players, RB Darren McFadden and WR Mike Evans. Highest score of the matchup was the Firecrackers WR TY Hilton with 27, but the rest only ranged from moderate to dreadful. They might be in a bit of trouble injury-wise this week as well, with 4 players listed as questionable.

Forest Tigers 101 @ 95 Putney Gooners
Forest Tigers take this one narrowly, thanks in no small part to 20 points from a most unlikely source, K Blair Walsh. RB Doug Martin added a rather more conventional 16. A good weekly total from the Gooners with QB Tom Brady definitely the star with 29, but they just miss out.

Crystal Tipps 79 @ 67 Bruschi 54s
Tipps, the other winless team going into week 7, finally get off the mark courtesy of an OK performance from their side edging out an off week for the 54s. QB Andrew Luck's second consecutive fine (fantasy!) performance good for 23 points, and WR Calvin Johnson chipped in with 14. Outside of an excellent 21 from RB Danny Woodhead and 15 from WR Julio Jones, nothing at all to write home about for the 54s.

Portsmouth Pirates 117 @ 101 Cornish Tinners
And the last unbeaten record goes down, though the Tinners would have kept their streak going against many other teams this week. Four great performances from Pirates, the Dolphins duo of RB Lamar Miller (35 - before halftime!) and WR Jarvis Landry (20), plus 19 from WR Amari Cooper and 23 from the sadly departed-for-the-season RB Arian Foster. Good allround scoring from the Tinners, as befits their season record, but no real standouts - QB Carson Palmer (19) and RB Ryan Matthews (17) leading the way.

Get It Right Next Time 86 @ 86 X-Men (GIRNT win on tiebreak - better bench score)
First tie of the season! For GIRNT, definite star was rookie RB Todd Gurley with 27, with just bits and pieces coming from the rest of the team. A pair of 18-pointers from two RBs, Marshawn Lynch and Charcandrick West, led for the X-Men, and with most of the others chipping in, the scores ended up level after the Monday game. (Obviously, in a game this tight, both teams can probably look back and say "just needed an extra yard/sack there", but I did notice that kicker Chandler Catanzaro for the X-Men missed an extra point midway through the 4th quarter, so I think that's the hard-luck story!). So it goes to bench scores, with the backup QB Philip Rivers making the difference with 25, actually outscoring the entire X-Men bench.

WEEK 8 FIXTURES

Bruschi 54s (3-4) @ Barry Crockers (5-2)
Caracas Firecrackers (4-3) @ Forest Tigers (3-4)
Chingford Gingers (0-7) @ Crystal Tipps (1-6)
Putney Gooners (4-3) @ Fulchester Fish (6-1)
Portsmouth Pirates (3-4) @ Get It Right Next Time (4-3)
Cornish Tinners (6-1) @ X-Men (3-4)

WEEK 8 RESULTS

Bruschi 54s 113 @ 96 Barry Crockers
The 54s take this one courtesy of owning one of the two quarterbacks involved in the epic shootout in New Orleans - Eli Manning totalling 38 points. WR Julio Jones also had a fine day with 20 as the 54s put up an excellent weekly score. A more balanced scorecard for Barry Crockers, with WRs Demaryius Thomas and Michael Crabtree getting 16, and TE Rob Gronkowski 17, for a perfectly reasonable total - but not enough for a win.

Caracas Firecrackers 82 @ 114 Forest Tigers
Tigers were another beneficiary of the Saints/Giants game with WR Brandin Cooks and TE Ben Watson both hitting 20 points. Add 18 for RB Ronnie Hillman and 17 for QB Brian Hoyer, and Tigers got themselves the high score of the week. WR Julian Edelman also scored 20 for the Firecrackers, and QB Cam Newton managed 17, but a real let-down at the RB position (Tevin Coleman and Thomas Rawls combining for just 3 points) made a big difference here.

Chingford Gingers 65 @ 75 Crystal Tipps
In contrast, not too many fireworks here, as the Tipps edged out their second win over the hapless Gingers. The Patriots D ended up as high scorer for the Tipps with 15, and QB Andrew Luck somehow ended up with 14 points after a horrorshow up until midway through the 4th quarter. 15 from Vikings WR Stefan Diggs and 10 from kicker Josh Lambo were the only double figure scores for the Gingers. A worrying number of questionable/doubtful designations for the Tipps already showing for next weeks games though.

Putney Gooners 104 @ 59 Fulchester Fish
Big win for the Gooners as the Fish's 5 game winning streak comes to a grinding halt with the low score of the week. QB Tom Brady's 30 points was the major contribution to the Gooners total, and K Justin Tucker's 5 field goals and two XPs accounted for another 20. WR Alshon Jeffrey managed 17 for the Fish, but a combination of below par scores (QB Aaron Rodgers 6) and downright stinkers (Jets DST -2) did for the Fish. Nice bench though!

Portsmouth Pirates 62 @ 107 Get It Right Next Time
Four big scores for GIRNT - QB Philip Rivers (24), RB Todd Gurley (20), WR Willie Snead (19) and RB Dion Lewis (16) as they end up with a comfortable win. A rough outing for the Pirates - outside of 19 from QB Jay Cutler and 17 from WR AJ Green, not a lot else - including two zeros from RB Ameer Abdullah and the Packers DST.

Cornish Tinners 85 @ 107 X-Men
The other 6-1 team also losing this week as the X-Men level up their season record to 4-4. WR Odell Beckham was on the end of a lot of Eli Manning's heroics ending up with 31 points. RB Charcandrick West also had a good day with 17. For the Tinners, WR Tavon Austin top-scored with 21, but no-one else put in the sort of performance needed to down the X-Men.

And what of the highest scorer of the season, QB Drew Brees and his 44 points? Wasting away on the GIRNT bench! Fortunately, not a game-changing decision.

WEEK 9 FIXTURES

Cornish Tinners (6-2) @ Barry Crockers (5-3)
X-Men (4-4) @ Caracas Firecrackers (4-4)
Chingford Gingers (0-8) @ Forest Tigers (4-4)

WEEK 9 RESULTS

Cornish Tinners 113 @ 89 Barry Crockers
Tinners back to winning ways, courtesy of WR Antonio Brown's 280-odd yard game (28 points) and fellow star WR Dez Bryant, back to fitness, with 16. RB Chris Ivory also managed his way to 16 points - despite a terrible stat line of 26 yards on 23 runs, he found the endzone twice for a reasonable score in the end. 17 points from kicker Josh Brown was also handy. WR also led for the Crockers, in this case Michael Crabtree with 22, but aside from QB Peyton Manning's 15 not enough from the rest of the squad. With this result, both of these teams are currently topping their divisions.

X-Men 105 @ 102 Caracas Firecrackers
X-Men just edged this high scoring clash, extending the Firecrackers mid-season slide to four consecutive defeats. 21 points each from QB Ben Roethlisberger and RB DeMarco Murray plus 18 from WR Allan Hurns were the top scores for X-Men - Firecrackers QB Cam Newton was actually the high scorer of the match with a fine 32, backed up with 22 from RB Jeremy Langford, subbing for Matt Forte, but they fell just short.

Chingford Gingers 76 @ 109 Forest Tigers
Gingers just can't get going this year! QB Andy Dalton scored 21 and WR Jordan Matthews 19, but too many low scores (and in the case of the Dallas DST, negative scores) sunk them this week. It could still have been a close matchup were it not for the efforts of RB DeAngelo Williams who finished with a fantastic 36 points. A mention also to QB Jameis Winston and RB LeSean McCoy who both got 17. Forest Tigers have a winning record - but still lie bottom of the heavyweight Central Division.

Get It Right Next Time 118 @ 67 Crystal Tipps
Big win for GIRNT, brought home by QB Drew Brees's 31 points. Everyone else bar the injured Dion Lewis had 9 or more points for a great all-around team effort. The Tipps roster contains three quarterbacks, all of whom scored over 20 points this week - QB Andrew Luck was the man in position for the match and although he was the lowest scorer of the three, 21 wasn't too bad a total. Apart from RB Frank Gore's 15 though, not a great deal else.

Putney Gooners 60 @ 90 Portsmouth Pirates
A bad week for the Gooners gave the Pirates a comfortable victory. Pirates got 25 points from RB Lamar Miller and 17 from QB Jay Cutler for a reasonable weekly score, more than enough to see off the Gooners who only got double figure scores from QB Tom Brady (17) and RB Adrian Peterson (19). The other 7 players on the Gooners team had miserable days. Gooners still hanging onto top spot in their division however.

Fulchester Fish 119 @ 78 Bruschi 54s
High score of the week (just!) for the Fish, despite a horrible -1 from RB Eddie Lacy. Fellow Packer QB Aaron Rodgers got back on track after two poor games with 32 points and TE Tyler Eifert also had a fine day with 23. Not too much from the 54s with RB Danny Woodhead's 16 and WR Julio Jones 13 (lots of yards but no TDS) the main men.

WEEK 10 FIXTURES

Caracas Firecrackers (4-5) @ Get It Right Next Time (6-3)
Fulchester Fish (7-2) @ Crystal Tipps (2-7)

WEEK 10 RESULTS

Barry Crockers 61 @ 113 Forest Tigers
A huge win for Forest Tigers, posting the highest score of the week. Two WRs, Brandin Cooks and Martavis Bryant both broke the 20-point barrier (22 and 21 respectively) and pretty much everyone else chipped in with respectable totals. Tigers got 17 points out of TE Rob Gronkowski, but this one was never close. A special mention to QB Peyton Manning and his -7 points!

Caracas Firecrackers 88 @ 64 Get It Right Next Time
Two star performers, RB Jeremy Langford (29) and QB Cam Newton (20) led the Firecrackers to the win and a .500 season record so far. Not too much from anyone else other than WR Eric Decker's 14. Unfortunately for GIRNT, 14 was also the mediocre score of their best performer, RB Todd Gurley, meaning a below-par score on the week and a loss in the matchup. Both teams still well in the hunt for postseason though.

Fulchester Fish 66 @ 52 Crystal Tipps
An ugly win for the Fish, but enough to retake the lead in the stacked Central division with a league-leading 8-2 record. As might be expected in such a low-scoring match, nothing too much of note - QBs leading for both teams, Aaron Rodgers (21) for the Fish, Derek Carr (17) for the Tipps. Moving swiftly on...

Putney Gooners 108 @ 102 Cornish Tinners
... a match up that shows the vagaries of head-to-head play! Gooners just edged this high scoring contest with RB Adrian Peterson (27), Chiefs DST (19) and QB Tom Brady (17) all contributing well. 27 was also the score of the top Tinner, WR Antonio Brown, with QB Carson Palmer and K Josh Brown getting 20 and 16 points respectively. Gooners stay top of the Eastern division, Tinners drop to second in the Central although a 7-3 record means that they are still in prime position for postseason play.

Portsmouth Pirates 99 @ 104 Bruschi 54s
Another close game, and another high-scoring one with the 54s just coming out on top. RB Matt Jones (24) was the star for the 54s with QB Eli Manning's 21 also coming in very handy. QB Jay Cutler scored a fine 24 in the Bears thumping of the Rams, but despite 15 from RB Lamar Miller and 14 from Redskins TE Jordan Reed, Pirates couldn't quite get up to the 54s total.

X-Men 102 @ 59 Chingford Gingers
The Gingers miserable season goes on with this convincing defeat by the X-Men, who reclaim top spot in the Western Division. For the X-Men, RB Charcandrick West had a great game, amassing 27 points, with WR Odell Beckham (16) and K Chandler Catanzero (15) provided good support. The only score into double figures for the Gingers was the Seattle DST with 11.

WEEK 11 SCHEDULE

Apologies - slacking off somewhat!

WEEK 11 RESULTS

Barry Crockers 103 @ 108 Putney Gooners
By far the highest scoring matchup of the week featuring the only two teams to break the 100 point mark, and it was the Crockers who unluckily came off second best. WR DeAndre Hopkins was the star man for the Gooners with 23 and the Kansas DST added a useful 19. An unusual top scorer for the Crockers, Mason Crosby kicking his way to 5 FGs and 22 total points. Gooners retain their lead in the East while the Crockers, despite a losing streak now extending to 4 games, are still right in the thick of the West.

Crystal Tipps 47 @ 74 Caracas Firecackers
Really poor outing from the Tipps giving the Firecrackers a comfortable win. Even so, the Firecrackers would have had a pretty ropy total themselves without a fantastic 30 from QB Cam Newton with no-one else hitting double figures. (RB Thomas Rawls's 36 remained unused and unwanted on the bench.) WR Brandon Marshall scraped his way to 10 for the Tipps, again the sole double-digit scorer. Firecrackers keeping pace in the East, Tipps out of the running for this year.

Forest Tigers 79 @ 66 X-Men
Tigers extend their winning streak to 6 games with this win over the X-Men. Two RBs did the damage for them, Doug Martin (23) and LeSean McCoy (18). Not a great deal from any X-Man this week - the return of QB Tony Romo probably the brightest spot with 13 points. (Of course I'm so late with this write up that Romo has played since, reinjured his left clavicle and may be done for the year!). Both teams still in good positions for postseason play, Tigers in the powerful Central, X-Men leading the West.

Fulchester Fish 71 @ 67 Portsmouth Pirates
Close and scrappy win for the Fish who move to a league-leading 9-2 on the season. QB Aaron Rodgers scored 18 and RB Darren McFadden 14, but it wasn't a great overall outing for the Fish. Just enough though, as apart from QB Matthew Stafford (20) and K Graham Gano (16), it was also something of an off-night for the Pirates. The Fish strengthen their lead in the Central, the Pirates are just about clinging on to post-season hopes.

Bruschi 54s 80 @ 72 Cornish Tinners
Another close one, with the 54s just edging it. WR Julio Jones scored 16, and various 11's and 10's from four other players gave the 54s an only average weekly score of 80, but again the Tinners weren't really on form this week either - only two decent scorers, QB Carson Palmer with 24 and the Panthers DST with 19. The 54s still well in the thick of the East battle - same goes for the Tinners in the Central, although their best chance looks like the wildcard spot.

Get It Right Next Time 43 @ 58 Chingford Gingers
The Gingers get off the mark! - though it helped that they were playing GIRNT this week. Obviously with these two total scores, not too much to mention other than 21 points from QB Andy Dalton for the Gingers (the only double-figure scorer for them) and two 10-point efforts from RB Todd Gurley and TE Delanie Walker for GIRNT. Still, a win is a win! Despite this awful week, GIRNT still have reasonable hopes of the wildcard spot - Gingers probably just happy to get off the mark.

WEEK 12 FIXTURES

Portsmouth Pirates (4-7) @ X-Men (6-5)
Cornish Tinners (7-4) @ Get It Right Next Time (6-5)

WEEK 12 RESULTS

Crystal Tipps 100 @ 98 Barry Crockers
Very narrow win for the Tipps as they scraped home by 2 points. Three big scorers, WR Calvin Johnson (27), WR Brandon Marshall (25) and QB Derek Carr (23), pushed the Tipps into three figure territory, without much help from any other player. Just the one star on the Crockers team, QB Ryan Fitzpatrick with 29; sadly, WR Doug Baldwin and his 32 remained stuck on the bench. Despite the loss, Crockers still well in the hunt for the West due to the X-Men's loss, despite their losing skid now sitting at 5 games.

Portsmouth Pirates 120 @ 85 X-Men
The West tightens up with this result as the Pirates move to within a game of the top. Big score too, behind a fine 34 points from QB Matt Stafford and two good WR efforts (Jarvis Landry with 22 and AJ Green with 18). 21 from QB Ben Roethlisberger and 20 from WR Odell Beckham for the X-Men helped the X-Men to a reasonable score, but not nearly enough to trouble the high scorers of this week.

Cornish Tinners 96 @ 29 Get It Right Next Time
A horrific week for GIRNT, and a thumping win for the Tinners. First round draft pick RB CJ Anderson finally put in a decent performance with 27 points, and the Panthers DST with 2 return TDs totalled 22 points. As for GIRNT, I think it's a new low in FISO league history - just one of those weeks where nothing went right. (Some reasonable scorers on the bench for example).TE Delanie Walker almost made it to double figures, but three zeroes and a 1-pointer from various others - ouch! Although Get It Right Next Time still have a .500 record at 6-6, they're in the wrong division for that to be a record still to be in with a chance of postseason play, as the two 8-4 teams above them still have to play each other. Tinners are one of those 8-4 teams, and still obviously well in the hunt.

Forest Tigers 95 @ 74 Fulchester FIsh
Tigers magical streak moves on to 7 games as they took down the Central-leading Fish. QB Blake Bortles (22) top scored for the Tigers, backed up well by most of the other players on the team. Again, an all-round effort from the Fish, led by RB Eddie Lacy with 17, but all the other scores were just a little bit under their Tiger counterparts. Fish still lead the division, but there's three strong teams here - at least one is going to miss out on postseason.

Caracas Firecrackers 111 @ 83 Chingford Gingers
A good win for the Firecrackers, keeping pace with the Gooners at the head of the East division. 21 from WR TY Hilton and 17 each from QB Cam Newton and TE Julius Thomas on the way to a good weekly score from the Firecrackers. For the Gingers, sadly back to losing ways, QB Andy Dalton got 19 and Chiefs RB Spencer Ware (subbing for Charcandrick West (subbing for Jamaal Charles!!)) scored 17. Good points for each team left on the bench as well, notably QB Russell Wilson's 34 for the Firecrackers, and WR Sammy Watkins' 27 for the Gingers.

Putney Gooners 106 @ 72 Bruschi 54s
A comfortable win for the Gooners, still setting the pace in the East. RB Adrian Peterson had an excellent 29 points, and QB Tom Brady 23 for the Gooners. No really big scorers for the 54s - 15 from the Bengals DST and 14 each from QB Brian Hoyer and WR Kamar Aiken, two slightly unusual names to be up in lights. Despite the loss, 54s not out of the running for a wildcard, and even, if results go their way, the division title.

WEEK 13 FIXTURES

Barry Crockers (5-7) @ Portsmouth Pirates (5-7)
X-Men (6-6) @ Crystal Tipps (3-9)
Get It Right Next Time (6-6) @ Forest Tigers (8-4)
Fulchester Fish (9-3) @ Cornish Tinners (8-4)
Chingford Gingers (1-11) @ Putney Gooners (8-4)

WEEK 13 RESULTS

Barry Crockers 125 @ 75 Portsmouth Pirates
A huge score, and a huge win, for the Crockers. WR Allan Robinson had a great night with 33 points, and QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (25) and WR Doug Baldwin (21) also posted more than useful scores. Three good performances from Pirates players, WR AJ Green with 18, RB David Johnson (17) and QB Matthew Stafford (16) but no hope of catching up with the Crockers mammoth week.

X-Men 121 @ 81 Crystal Tipps
Much the same story here, as the X-Men put up a fine weekly total for a comfortable win. 33 from QB Ben Roethlisberger, a pair of 22's from RB Javorious Allan and the Denver D, and 20 from WR Odell Beckham provided the bulk of the scoring for the X-Men. 19 from WR BRandon Marshall for the Tipps as most players chipped in with bits and pieces, but a long way from the X-Men's total.

Get It Right Next Time 82 @ 121 Forest Tigers
And again, an almost identical score to the previous game, with the Tigers run extending to 8 wins. QB Blake Bortles found his way to 32 points, with WRs Martavis Bryant and Brandon Cooks adding 17 and 16 points respectively. Also again, three good GIRNT players, QB Drew Brees (22), Steelers DST (21) and TE Delanie Walker (15) not enough to challenge the Tigers score.

Fulchester Fish 74 @ 96 Cornish Tinners
Tinners power their way to the top of the Central with this win over the slightly slumping Fish. Tinners triumvirate of WR Antonio Brown (23), QB Carson Palmer (22) and TE Richard Rodgers (20) were the stars for the Tinners, with not a lot of help from anyone else. For the Fish, apart from QB Aaron Rodgers' 24, not a lot to write home about, and one of those annoying weeks where the bench outscored the first team.

Chingford Gingers 100 @ 100 Putney Gooners - Gooners win on bench score
Gooners needed 12 from WR DeSean Jackson last night, and that's exactly what was achieved due to a last minute touchdown, to just scrape home over the Gingers by virtue of a better bench score. 30 points from QB Tom Brady for the Gooners, with the Chiefs D adding 16 and RB Jonathan Stewart 15. Some good scores from the Gingers, QB Andy Dalton (23), RB Matt Forte (17), WR Sammy Watkins (16) and even 15 from the kicking slot courtesy of Mike Nugent, but a heartbreak for the Gingers. Obviously with a matchup this close, there may be scoring alterations later in the week, I'll keep an eye out for any of these.

Bruschi 54s 80 @ 92 Caracas Firecrackers
A closish one to end out the week, as the Firecrackers took a narrow win over the 54s. No question about the star here, QB Cam Newton and his 35 points. (And backup QB Russell Wilson had 33!) RB Thomas Rawls added a useful 16. RB TJ Yeldon top-scored for the 54s with 18 with a couple of 15s from the Bengals D and the Bengals RB Jeremy Hill.

WEEK 14 FIXTURES

X-Men (7-6) @ Barry Crockers (6-7)
Crystal Tipps (3-10) @ Portsmouth Pirates (5-8)
Fulchester Fish (9-4) @ Get It Right Next Time (6-7)
Cornish Tinners (9-4) @ Forest Tigers (9-4)
Bruschi 54s (6-7) @ Chingford Gingers (1-12)
Caracas Firecrackers (8-5) @ Putney Gooners (9-4)

PLAYOFF SCENARIOS

Well, into the last week - and NO-ONE is guaranteed a playoff place! Also, mostly down to dumb luck, the scheduling has produced two winner-take-all games for week 14.
Western Division.
It's a straight fight between X-Men and Barry Crockers - X-Men win and would take the division outright - Crockers win would leave both teams on 7-7 but Crockers would win the division, having beaten X-Men home and away. Loser would be out, no chance of the wildcard.
Central Division.
Complicated! If the Tinners beat the Tigers, they are champs as the Fish, even with a win, could only match their 10-4 record, and the Tinners hold the tiebreaker over the Fish. If the Tigers win, they will almost certainly be champs, as again the Fish could only match their record with a win of their own. Season results between the Tigers and the Fish stands at 1-1, so it would come down to total points, at which the Tigers have a huge advantage. So to all intents and purposes, lets call the winner of the Tinners/Tigers game the divisional champs. Now to wildcard scenarios. If the Fish win, they will definitely have the wildcard - if they lose they are almost definitely out with a 9-5 record, the same record as the loser of the Tinners/Tigers match, and a worse tiebreaker situation against either, as mentioned above. Factor in the possibility of the Eastern Division also providing a 9-5 wildcard team and it gets too complicated for me!
Eastern Division.
Another winner-takes-all game between the Firecrackers and the Gooners. Gooners win - they would be champs, and Firecrackers out of the picture - Firecrackers win, both teams level on 9-5 and Firecrackers win the tiebreaker with 2 wins over the Gooners. Gooners would then end up on 9-5, in the thick of the wildcard - they hold the tiebreaker advantage over the Fish and the Tinners, but not over the Tigers.

WEEK 14 UPDATE

Western Division...still all to play for...X-Men, down 18 at present, with WRs Odell Beckham and DaVante Parker remaining, against the Giants D for the Crockers...too close to call!

Central Division...unless the Tinners get a frankly weird score from Giants kicker Josh Brown of 40 points, they are unluckily out of the running, courtesy of the loss to the Tigers and the Fish's narrow win in their completed game against Get It Right Next Time...Fish booked in for the wildcard spot.

Eastern Division...narrow win for the Gooners takes them through to the postseason...Firecrackers just miss out.

WEEK 14 RESULTS

X-Men 86 @ 78 Barry Crockers
The X-Men came through this nailbiter to clinch the West, mainly due to another fantastic performance from WR Odell Beckham who scored 28 points. Another WR, Allan Hurns, added 16. For the Crockers, two great scores from WR Doug Baldwin (26) and QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (24) but the lack of support from the rest of the team did for them. X-Men take the division outright, and third seed due to the worst record of the three division winners.

Crystal Tipps 75 @ 106 Portsmouth Pirates
Pirates finished up the regular season with a nice win over the Tipps. RB Lamar Miller was the top man here with 20, backed up by WR AJ Green with 19 and TE Jordan Reed with a fine 18. For the Tipps, WR Brandon Marshall also scored 18, and the Patriots DST got 16, but not enough from anyone else.

Fulchester Fish 99 @ 94 Get It Right Next Time
The Fish took a close win here. The Green Bay duo of RB Eddie Lacy (20) and QB Aaron Rodgers (18) starring, with WR Alshon Jeffrey adding 16 points. Todd Gurley scored an excellent 26 for GIRNT, and QB Drew Brees got 20 but they fell just short. The Fish grabbed the wildcard spot with this win, and will be up against division rivals and top seeds Forest Tigers, currently on a fantastic 9 game winning streak...

Cornish Tinners 75 @ 108 Forest Tigers
...courtesy of this comfortable win over the Tinners. QB Blake Bortles (25) and RB DeAngelo Williams (20) were the main men for the Tigers, with K Chris Boswell also excelling with 18 points. Two good scores from Tinners players, 21 from the Panthers DST and 20 from QB Carson Palmer, but they were not helped by a couple of zeros from WRs, Cecil Shorts (not too surprising) and Dez Bryant (downright amazing!). Tigers top seeds and obviously the team in form, Tinners sadly out of postseason despite a better W-L record than the West division winners - unfortunate to be in the top-heavy Central division. Prime position for the top draft choice next season though (more on that below...)

Caracas Firecrackers 83 @ 89 Putney Gooners
A tight finish here in the winner-takes-all East division game as the Gooners just nicked it. A bit of an all-round performance from the Gooners with QB Tom Brady leading with 18. Top scorer of the match was the other QB, Firecrackers Cam Newton with 22, but despite a couple of OK WR performances from TY Hilton and Eric Decker (both 13), the Firecrackers just couldn't quite close the gap. Gooners take the east, and the second seed.

Bruschi 54s 60 @ 80 Chingford Gingers
Gingers managed another win here in the battle of teams playing for next year. Two WRs led the scoring for them, Golden Tate with 19 and Sammy Watkins with 14. Almost half of the Bruschis disappointing total was down to QB Eli Manning who scored 27 by himself.

So, the 4 teams going through to the playoffs are...
Western champions - X-Men
Central champions - Forest Tigers
Eastern Champions - Putney Gooners
Wildcard - Fulchester Fish

ROUND 15 FIXTURES

The season may be over for 8 of the 12 teams as regards playoffs, but there's still something to play for - improving your position on the overall ladder improves your draft slot for next year. So keep fighting!

Fulchester Fish @ Forest Tigers
X-Men @ Putney Gooners

WEEK 15 RESULTS

Playoffs
Fulchester Fish 68 @ 103 Forest Tigers
The first semi-final went to form as the top seeded Tigers brushed past the wildcard Fish. Tigers were led by QB Blake Bortles with 23 and WR Brandin Cooks with 18, but practically everyone else chipped in with around 10 points for a comfortable win. Useful points on the bench too! Fish had a poor week with only WR Mike Evans living up to/exceeding expectations with 15 points. Tigers take their 9 game winning streak into the final where they will meet...

X-Men 90 @ 71 Putney Gooners
...the X-Men, in a bit of an upset. QB Ben Roethlisberger top scored with 23, and a trio of 13-point scorers (RB Charcandrick West, WR Odell Beckham and TE Greg Olsen) helped the X-Men to the final. Two good scorers for the Gooners, the Chiefs DST with 20, and QB Tom Brady with 18, but too many subpar performances from other players condemned the 2nd seed Gooners to defeat. Unusually, both teams had negative point scorers, RB Buck Allen of the X-Men and WR Danny Amendola for the Gooners. And a bit of a blow for the X-Men in next week's final - Odell Beckham suspended for one game after his assault on Josh Norman in the Giants/Panthers game.

Consolation ladder
Caracas Firecrackers 118 @ 80 Cornish Tinners
Big win for the Firecrackers, behind an astonishing 41 points from QB Cam Newton. A couple of 16-pointers in the shape of RB Joique Bell and the Cardinals DST all added up to a big weekly score for the Firecrackers who will go into the final game next week with the number 1 draft spot on the line (and all the agony of that choice next year!). Tinners had a big scorer of their own, WR Antonio Brown with 30, but too many very low scores from certain other players (including two ducks from WR Cecil Shorts and TE Richard Rodgers) meant an easy win for the Firecrackers.

Get It Right Next Time 121 @ 97 Barry Crockers
Another big score here in a week of generally high scoring with Get It Right Next Time taking the win and advancing to a match against the Firecrackers next week for the number one draft spot. Lots of good performances from GIRNT, 26 each from QB Drew Brees and WR Emmanuel Sanders, 18 from TE Delanie Walker and 16 from K Stephen Gostkowski. Quite a respectable score for the Crockers, but no real standout performers (WR DeMaryius Thomas with 18 and WR Doug Baldwin with 16 best) meant that they couldn't really get close to GIRNT's total.

Portsmouth Pirates 122 @ 128 Bruschi 54s
And the biggest scorers of the lot - these two teams the top two of the week, so it's unlucky for the Pirates to have lost this close one to the 54s. Almost easier to list the disappointing performers here, but leading for the 54s were 4-time TD scorer RB Danny Woodhead (30), QB Eli Manning (23) and WR Julio Jones (17). Four massive scorers on the Pirates side, RB David Johnson with 3 TDs and close to 200 yards meaning a total of 40 points, WR Amari Cooper (24), QB Matthew Stafford (22) and TE Jordan Reed (20), but more lower scorers (and in the case of the Eagles DST, negative scores) meant that the 54s just took this game.

Chingford Gingers 122 @ 81 Crystal Tipps
A miserable year for the Gingers at least ended on a high note with their best week of the season. QB Kirk Cousins had one of his best days ever on his way to 35 points, WRs Sammy Watkins (23) and Golden Tate (16) helped the total along, as did RB Matt Forte with 15. A couple of 19-point scorers for the Tipps, QB Derek Carr and the Patriots DST, but nowhere near enough ammo to trouble the Gingers, especially with an ailing squad - 5 players out injured this week!

The Tigers are the champs! On unstoppable form over the past few weeks, the Tigers take the title game with a fairly close result against the X-Men. Two big scorers for the Tigers, QB Blake Bortles with 28 and RB DeAngelo Williams with 25, making up for three zero scores from other players. Again, the bulk of the X-Men scoring was down to two players, RB Tim Hightower (28) and WR Allan Hurns (22), but nobody else reached double figures.

3rd/4th playoff
Fulchester Fish 47 @ 96 Putney Gooners
Huge win for the Gooners against the Fish. Three scores of 17 from Gooners players, RB Adrian Peterson, RB Charles Sims, and WR DeAndre Hopkins - more than enough to thrash the Fish who turned in just about the worst performance of any team this year. Only WR Michael Floyd hit double digits with 11 points.

Consolation ladder
Get It Right Next Time 95 @ 95 Caracas Firecrackers
The game to determine the number 1 draft pick for next year ends in a tie! GIRNT just nick it on the higher bench score, 47 to 42. QB Drew Brees led the way for GIRNT with 28 points, adding to a couple of 14's from WR Pierre Garcon and RB Todd Gurley. Biggest score of the week, and the defensive performance of the season, came from the Arizona D for the Firecrackers, who totalled a magnificent 35 points. Sadly, no-one else really contributed too much, leaving the Firecrackers agonisingly short. Note: as chairman, I've had to exercise a little license on the final standings table - though the season, bench scores have been the decider in the case of a tie, but in postseason this doesn't seem to be the case, meaning that the Firecrackers have been placed above GIRNT in the final table whereas they really should be below them as GIRNT "won" this match. Hope this is OK with everyone.

Bruschi 54s 90 @ 48 Cornish Tinners
Thumping win for the 54s over the Tinners, who put in the second terrible performance of the week along with the Fish. WR Julio Jones scored 23 for the 54s and, with a handful of scores around the 10 point mark, this was more than enough for the Tinners this week who, apart from 16 from QB Carson Palmer and 14 from RB Devonta Freeman, did practically nothing (three zero scorers from them this week as well, copying the Tigers).

Chingford Gingers 62 @ 81 Barry Crockers
22 points from QB Ryan Fitzpatrick and 21 from WR Allan Robinson did the damage here for the Crockers in this win over the Gingers, for whom QB Kirk Cousins (32) accounted for more than half their team total by himself.

Crystal Tipps 117 @ 105 Portsmouth Pirates
The wooden spoon battle - and it provided the two best scores of the week! WR Brandon Marshall (23) and RB Frank Gore (21) top scored for the Tipps with QB Derek Carr and RB Isaiah Crowell adding 15 and 14 respectively. For the Pirates, it was TE Jordan Reid leading with 24, with QB Matthew Stafford getting 21 and RB David Johnson 17. Unlucky Pirates!
