2017 SBru Currie Cup Premier Div (SA) - round 11: McBear takes over from Boddington
This one is for those prepared to commit to about 12 weeks of predictions ... July 7th to End of October.
I like this one & recommend getting involved. You get a feel for it after a while although if its your first season expect a steep learning curve. The teams do not necessarily follow the form of their Super15 counterparts.
Wikipedia probably gives you the history

Pool name: FISO Currie Cup
Pool code: dulylake
Again, All FISO members more than welcome

Re: 2015 SBru Currie Cup (starts 7th August)
Nice Start to this competition ...
quite a tight little group, headed by McBear but with a good posse close behind, with most within striking distance :
wk 3 Metal Warlord scores high to close the gap, Trampie hot on his tail ...
wk 2 Surprised and MickMacP fight back (as do Asdral225 and StokieBloke)
wk 1 McBear starting Strongly

Re: 2015 SBru Currie (SA) Cup - hotting up nicely - McBear leads the pack
week 4 has Asdral225 put in a storming week, scoring almost double what anybody else scored by getting all outcomes correct, including the rather surprising result of Cheetahs beating Western Province ... with the result he gets an additional 1 GSP
This gives him a comfortable little 2 point cushion at the top, for now

Re: 2015 SBru Currie (SA) Cup - Asdral225 & StokieB two way tie
week 11 - Semi Finals has asdral225 take the Yellow Cap and all the points,
leaving the three battling it out for the Cup & Honours unchanged, with only 1.5 points between 1st and 3rd.
So one round remaining, and it all depends on who picks the closest to the correct margin,
assuming of course you all know who will win ...
Will it be the Lions who have Lorded it all over everyone this season,
or Western Province who win this every other year, if not more frequently than that ...
I love this nail-biting stuff

Re: 2015 SBru Currie (SA) Cup - Asdral225 & StokieB two way tie
The Final has Trampie fending off StokieBloke with aplomb, to win the Championship, and the cup!!
whilst asdral225 takes the Yellow Cap again, but its not enough to topple MetalWarlord off the podium.
Thanks to all for participating ... the more involved, the better it gets ... if you weren't on the podium this year, aim for it next year & Good luck !!

This Comp is about to kick off again, so all FISO bods are welcome to compete with Trampie who will hopefully be defending his title ...

For those of you who know nothing about Currie Cup, have no fear ... Western Province win almost always (although looking less dominant this year)

Re: 2016 SBru Currie (SA) Cup - Holder : Trampie - starts 5th August (Final 15th Oct)
week 6 and at present it seems like a 3 horse race, with the Holder, Trampie out in front over the 2015 runner up Stokie Bloke who is not giving up with McBear still looking threatening .... asdral 225 leads the also rans ...
Another four rounds before we hit Semi & Finals, so time to recover if the leaders wane ...

Re: 2016 SBru Currie (SA) Cup - Holder : Trampie - 6 weeks in and Trampie leads again ...
As we get down to the sharp end of this competition, and with the Semi Finals on the 15th we find last year's winner and reigning champion Trampie showing us the way home ... and with his nearest competitor McBear nearly six points behind it would require a major upset for him to lose his crown at this stage.
Second place is very much up for grabs though, with McBear fending off asdral225 and Stokie Bloke ... two rounds left ... best of luck to all ... Margin Points mean everything at this stage

Re: 2016 SBru Currie (SA) Cup - Holder : Trampie - home and hosed (almost)
Semi Final provides little change, with only asdral225 and Stokie Bloke closing the gap on Trampie who rests easy at the top.
Hats off to Trampie, though, who has surpassed his wining score of last year (53.33) with the Final still to come. In second, McBear has also bettered his last year's score, but remains no where near Stokie Bloke's 2015 2nd place finish of 52.33.
Looks like 50 points will get you on the podium ...

Re: 2016 SBru Currie (SA) Cup - Holder : Trampie - home and hosed (almost)
Sorry about the delay ... just too many balls to juggle & some get dropped
As predicted, the Final provided few surprises, however Stokie Bloke managed to leapfrog asdral225 and get on the podium. McBear nonchalantly neglected to predict the Final, but still came away with a Silver runners-up medal.
Hats off to Trampie, who has won this competition for the second year running ... gonna have to do better next year
CONGRATS TRAMPIE !!!

Re: 2017 SBru Currie Cup (SA) - Holder: Trampie - McBear leads hammerddh after round 2
Time flies when you are having fun and already we are into round 7 ...
the story so far has been that McBear started strongly in r1 but hammerddh ate into that lead over the next two rounds to take the lead himself, which he held (with silverflash borrowing it for one week) until McBear nicked it back in round 7 ... Hopefully the screenshot below displays this ding dong behaviour ....
