I've looked at it again on tonights MOTD and I'd be extremely surprised if Gerrard got a KC. True it wasn't the usual six inch tap from a free kick that we know won't get a KC, but, it was outside the area, didn't split the defence, I just can't see it being given myself. So, onto the EPL ...

The problem is that his touch was tangled up with Chris Perry who I'm sure touched the ball as well, so KCs before then will get wiped out.The Ledge wrote:I'm no good at these KC's and respect Bram like a God so I take it that there's no chance of a Davies KC for the Borgetti goal? Davies touch played Borgetti well into the penalty box where he took one touch before slotting home. Straw clutching perhaps

Thanks for clarifying Bram - didn't notice any intervention myself but I ain't arguing (unlike some others on this forum).Bramernic wrote:The problem is that his touch was tangled up with Chris Perry who I'm sure touched the ball as well, so KCs before then will get wiped out.The Ledge wrote:I'm no good at these KC's and respect Bram like a God so I take it that there's no chance of a Davies KC for the Borgetti goal? For those doubting a Kewell MOTM, here are the views of the Liverpool website jury:
Kewell 4424
Carragher 538
Garcia 477
Sissoko 389
Riise 347
Gerrard 290
Alonso 247
Hyypia 229
Reina 89
(not sure how Sissoko is 4th - I thought that was his worst appearance in a red shirt! Alonso was the main boss in central midfield)

The Charlton player definitely touched the ball but don't the rules say that a significant touch by a defender will negate any KCs? In my opinion Perry didn't change the direction of the ball much, so Davies should still get a KC. And while we're on the Bolton game, won't Okocha get one for his long throw that Myhre fumbled to Davies? Also I think Vaz Te's header was clean, no double-deflection like the Chelsea goal last week.Bramernic wrote:The problem is that his touch was tangled up with Chris Perry who I'm sure touched the ball as well, so KCs before then will get wiped out.The Ledge wrote:I'm no good at these KC's and respect Bram like a God so I take it that there's no chance of a Davies KC for the Borgetti goal? And no KC for Tainio, Bram?

I've looked again at the video and this is my reasoning in each case:reds363 wrote:The Charlton player definitely touched the ball but don't the rules say that a significant touch by a defender will negate any KCs? And no KC for Tainio, Bram?
1) It looked like Borgetti was trying to cross the ball and Perry stopped it in it's tracks so Borgetti could instead shoot himself.
2) Davies kicked the ball twice after the long throw so I read that as too much work for a KC for the throw - I could be wrong.
3) Vaz Te's header looked clean, but the commentator threw doubt, hence I noted the possibility in itallics.
4) I think Davids did too much for a Tainio KC.
Finally, in the second semi, I agree with Judio and others - 2 KCs.
