My view of potential KCs tonight after watching MOTD and freeze-framing a couple of goals afterwards: Now confirmed by TTF

Blackburn 4-3 Man United
Bentley (Pedersen)
Saha (Rooney)
Bentley (-)
Neill (-)
Bentley (Gray, Savage)
van Nistelrooy (Ronaldo)
van Nistelrooy (Evra, Brown)

Arsenal 2-3 West Ham
Reo-Coker (-)
Zamora (-)
Henry (Pires)
Etherington (Reo-Coker)
Pires (Silva, Bergkamp)

Liverpool 1-1 Birmingham
Gerrard (Morientes)
Alonso og (Pennant, Heskey) Pennant not predicted

Aston Villa 1-1 Chelsea
Robben (Gallas, J Cole)
Moore (-) Delaney not given - a bit harsh imo

Man City 3-0 Newcastle
Riera (-) shot was just outside the box and I don't think Riera was the original target + defender toe poked it
Cole (Vassell)
Vassell (Cole)

Portsmouth 1-1 Bolton
Fadiga (-)
Karadas (Routledge)
Fadiga also missed a penalty, no save for the keeper though

Edit to add TTF decisions

Boumsong's toe poke might rule out Barton's KC.

Possibly true, though I didn't think any deflection was that significant.

Didn't Henry cross for the Bergkamp shot and the subsequent Pires goal?

Anyone notice the Top class editing from Match of the Day

Saha just equalised, and after showing the replay,
they put up the Graphic showing Bentley scored twice and Blackburn were 2-1 up

Good stuff for people who were watching MotD without
knowing the score

and the when Bentley scored the second, the Graphic went up showing it was 3-1

I thought it was Henry too. Although I was kicked out of the livingroom with the cable tv, so the missus could watch the pirate of the 2nd series of Lost on dvd, to the bedroom with the rubbish reception and small tv where each player has about 3 ghosts.

Anyone who watches Lost by the way, the first 3 episodes of the next series are pretty exciting, and it has gone a bit Twin Peaks.

No, it was Silva who DID get a KC

All KCs as predicted above except the two dodgy ones - no to Barton and no to Delaney. Also, an unexpected extra one for Pennant.

It was Fletcher who backheeled for Ruud's second was it not?

I'm afraid that you've managed to contradict yourself within a single sentence. If all observers of the game at Sky and the Telegraph were of sound judgement, their MotMs are likely to be similar, but if as you suggest the system is ludicrous, the odds on them picking the same MotMs are not that high. Yer can't have it both ways!!!

Personally I look at the SkySports one after the games because the Man Of The Match the telegraph gives people is ALWAYS one of the top three players according to Sky Sports, so I know by getting a player into the top three, I've got a chance of those bonus points.

Thought there could only be one contribution on own goals, has this happened previously(can't remember if it has).

No, there can be none, one or two (but never three) KCs for any goal. I've relooked at Alonso's og and can't see how I missed suggesting Pennant would get a KC - it was one of the most certain awards of the night.

I was at VP on Wednesday to see the mighty Villa - Delaney started the move in his own half, played a one two then ghosted past the defender to the byline to pull back a beautifully weighted ball for Moore to scuff in.

He should have got two assist for that (as well as a new contract!)

P.S Barry, Milner or Delaney should have been Motm

Good stuff for people who were watching MotD without

Last year all throughout the season I avoided knowing the scores so I could watch Norwich on Match Of The Day without knowing.

As many will remember it took them forever to win a game, and when they did, home to Southampton, the BBC showed the score at 2-1 to Norwich the whole first half.

So, when they went ahead I knew they'd wow.

Basically the BBC ruined what was a magical evening for a Norwich fan.

---

Worse comes to worse, Norwich versus Newcastle towards the end of the season when Norwich wer eputting in their awsome run to save themselves, they run the ticker along during the first ten minutes of the match, showing Norwich won 2-1, so when in the 90th minute, Newcastle equalised I couldn't care as I knew the result.

---

So its not the first time, and its not the last time, but hardly the most anoying time.
