Come on then, just how did you think that this sentence applied to midweek?

If only, Odeh Farris (the boy in the pic) wasn't shot by the tank, he was hunted down and shot IDF troops later.

Anyway, thats totally off topic!

I am giving up on TonyP, probably didn't get any MOTM's anyway.

Goodnight all!

Fabregas was good. Just oozes quality.

Personally I would edge towards one of AJ, Fernandes, Carsley or possibly Lehmann who was prettty commanding in appalling conditions.

Toure was good too, actually.

So any one from 20 :?

Is there a chance that these aren't the official MOTMs?

Who are the reporters?

The article you looked at was dated 18/03/07 & gave the Sunday Telegraph MOTM. If you go to the website, click on the sport link, then click on football & you'll find the Telegraph MOTMs in the bottom left corner of that page.

The main way to spot the difference (other than the date of the article) is that the Sunday Telegraph MOTMs give a description of why each player was awarded MOTM & the Telegraph MOTMs don't...

A goal and KC for Shev, 10 points in total (from TFFO).

Any other dodgy ones you want me to check?

The more I watch it, the more I'm absolutely convinced its the defender who touches the ball on. Not that many will have Shevchenko anyway

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVBDTv9R9q4

Its the last part of the clip from the camera on the right side of the pitch.

Concentrate on where the ball is when it moves forward slightly and IMO its already gone past Shevchenko. His is definately a fresh air kick.

The last replay makes it pretty clear that Shev does not touch it and it comes off the defender. Telegraph have definitely made a mistake on this occasion.

All as predicted (thanks again Judio), apart from the minor technicallity that Mpenza doesn't seem to be a TFF player. Even from the single view on MotD2 I didn't think there was any doubt about Sheva's KC. And while not many have him now, there may be a few who had him in their Starting XI  who could do with a few extra points for their superleague Starting XI prize!
