Marginal - I'm inclined to think the Gerrard KC will be given.reds363 wrote:I think the deflection will cancel Gerrard's KC. And even if I'm wrong about that I think it's doubtful whether Kuyt will get one too.

let me reiterate.
if DK does not get a KC then i am not suggesting the people who said he won't get it are wrong, merely that the people who decided it are wrong imho (i.e. jez pitman etc.) - having seen many, many similar goals over the years to which two KCs are awarded so that is why I am confused ... the comments as to why he will not are obviously very well based on TFF history and rules of which I am not aware.
I hope you understand what i mean - I mean no ill towards the very knowledgable people here
night all

Buryboy; think Bramernic's attending Sunday service so perhaps this may help.
Mike and I have had several conversations over the years on this aspect of the Telegraph game. Feel that, generally, a pass received 20 metres from goal can qualify as a key contribution, ie, up to three yards outside the penalty area.

I agree it was hard to see the change in the flight of the ball in the air from the angles given on MOTD. But if you look at the positions Gerrard, Dawson and Garcia were standing when they took their respective touches they were far from in a straight line.
JP - Not sure how you can compare this to the Agbonlahor KC, they are completely different goals.
Matt Taylor's goal yesterday was very similar to Barry's at from Boxing Day though (I assume that is the one you referred to, re. Agbonlahor), so I can see a KC for Andy Cole there.

Further explanation to answer various questions.
1) I think Taylor did too much for Cole to get a KC. If he'd hit it first time then yes it would have had a KC, but he bought the defender back into play and had to get past him again.
2) I'm not even convinced that Gerrard was passing to Garcia, but the angle was bigger than other cases where KCs have been denied. Dawson says it all with his reaction, he thought he'd made a purposeful clearance.
3) Neville was only just outside the area and KCs are usually given from that distance.
