More of the usual from the telegraph journalists = very poor
They really should focus a little more when they are at the game.
Giving Fabregas MOTM over an Everton defender is an absolute disgrace.

Id say the KC system is clearly flawed when Carrick isnt getting one for the Ronaldo goal. It was a lovely ball through to Saha, absolute key contribution but ah well I dont have him so it don't matter. Just makes the game a little harder to understand.

I was at the game and, to be honest, Fabregas was the best player on the pitch.
Why should they give the award to an 'underdog's' defender just because they did the job they were set out to do?
Fabregas was the only real class act on the pitch. I, for one, applaud the fact that the reporter (not sure who it was) did not just take the easy option and plump for an Everton defender, but recognised the one outstanding contributor.

I would be very suprised if Dunne didn't get man of the match..

Clean sheet, scored and was very solid all game..

You never know though, they may give it to Yakubu

May not be as Dunne and dusted as people think. M'boro hit the post twice at the end due to poor defensive play by Manchester City. I would say (and hope) Barton, due to his consistency and the fact he controlled the midfield tonight.

Disagree there, it was a superb ball by Downing for the first effort and it was Richards marking Maccarone. Dunne had a superb game and if he does not get it then Dickov will, he put in a typical Dickov performance and worked extremely hard, defending from the front throughout

I think that the rose tinted glasses may have come out for Barton there, he was good, but he would be quite a way down my list of potential MOTMs. Hope it is though, got him in one of my teams!

Thought he was pretty average myself and wouldn't have gone for a blues defender either. I thought Cahill was outstanding (though was punished by Riley repeatedly for little reason).

Another mom going to the goalscorer. Man City were alright at the back, but it was surely Boro's inability to go forward with any intent that meant Man City won and kept a clean sheet.

In saying that, I can't think of anyone who performed outstandingly.

100% agreed.

Two threads, both sticky would be ideal. One marked with "Speculation/Debate" in the title. Bingo - problem solved. People can stop losing their sense of humour.
hopefully this might be the answer - as I for one don't want to see the likes of Bram, judio or murf (and all the others!) jacking all this in because of a few arseholes
Strong words, who are the few arseholes?

I agree, that's a bit harsh Barry.

The 'bottoms' you talk about are only looking for somewhere to post when it's all going down on a match day - it's just banter and a bit of fun! I agree that Judio's thread shouldn't be cluttered with the kind of stuff we're talking about and the new thread should ensure it's not.

I for one have posted hearsay on that thread in the past  , so if I am one of the AH's you are talking about, I take exception to that.

Let's all just try and stay friends eh?! :?
