I was at the Villa Spurs game (even tho Im a United fan - dont ask ! ) .
Im racking my brain to think who took the corner for Spurs - I think it was Jenas. It was a bizarre as it wasnt a good corner !
Barry's goal was a classic , beat one man then curled it with his right. No assist.
MOM ? Mcann and Petrov played well. Barry got a cracking goal , and handled Lennon well when he came on. For Spurs , Defoe eventually came alive in the last 25 mins , and Im not a big fan, but Jenas played well.

I'm pretty sure Lampard will get a KC. The shot was on target. There was a slight deflection taking it off target before Ingimarsson intervened, and the rules state:Judio wrote:There is never a KC if the ball takes a significant deflection off a defenderFlipside wrote:Do you mean no KC full stop or no KC for winning free kick?
I mean No KC full stop
A key contribution will not necessarily be awarded to the last player to touch the ball before the goal scorer and may be awarded for opposition own goals.

Disappointing thread. At least you tried Judio. I was looking for some decent info before going to bed.Judio wrote:Please post your opinions only having SEEN the Goals.
This is not a thread for discussing possible KCs from text commentary on the BBC.
I will update this first post with Confirmed KCs from TFFO and also
the Official MOTMs.

The key points to note here are:Raisin wrote:I'm pretty sure Lampard will get a KC. The shot was on target. There was a slight deflection taking it off target before Ingimarsson intervened, and the rules state:

The PA decided that it was an own goal, so the 'scorer' is Ingimarsson. It doesn't matter whether Lampard's shot was really on or off target, the decision has been made. The first deflection was very significant and will definitely rule out a KC, as per this quote from the TFFO definition of a KC "In all cases, any significant intervention by opposing players (e.g. rebounds or clearing the ball) will negate any KCs before that intervention.".

I'm not going to argue with Bramernic and Judio but I'm still going to nurture a clandestine hope for a Lampard KC.Bramernic wrote:The key points to note here are:Raisin wrote:I'm pretty sure Lampard will get a KC. Are you sure that definitiely applies for own goals? (Not sure, just asking!).Bramernic wrote:The key points to note here are:Raisin wrote:I'm pretty sure Lampard will get a KC. Apologies Bram shouldn't doubt youBramernic wrote:Defoe won the corner and could be seen walking towards the flag to take it. Jenas was also spotted in the area (or someone wearing his number shirt).Hammertime wrote:Sure it was Jenas who took the corner?
Just read all the reports and they say Defoe as well, I just went on what Skysports said at the time it happened.
